I also tried it with a side of Mole and let me tell you 1000/10 decision. Love love their mole. It's more of a broth similar to the consomé and adds that extra sauciness to the tacos. Also tried their pumpkin concha and same as last time it was very fluffy and I think I'm obsessed. Definitely worth trying this place for some good tacos and if you're into nutrition like I am, it's so nice having a spot with seitan options for that macro balance

Located within easy walking distance of The Alamo, I'd sooner remember these meals than that faded out pile of rocks. As a big brunch fan, their weekend menu is especially a draw. The highlights being the mole poblano chilaquiles and every permutation of breakfast taco they offer. On any other given day, the mini tacos are a steal, providing the opportunity to taste multiple plant-based proteins on one plate for a very reasonable price. I will also dream about the elote en vaso for its simplicity and brilliance; absolutely steaming hot, clearly made from fresh corn, and perfectly rich but not cloying. I only wish I could have tried more of the menu. I'm confident there isn't a single miss on there. The steady crowd definitely indicates as much, even during off-peak hours.

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

Luckily, we had dinner at Boudro's before a ghost tour, and neither one of these events was scary. We started with the oysters which were unique and delicious. For an appetizer, I ordered the shrimp cocktail, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. My only complaint? I wish there had been more than five pieces! For my main course, I had the double rib pork chop, and it was fantastic. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and paired with a sweet potato pineapple hash that was absolutely divine. Service was great overall, and our server was lovely. My only minor gripe was that we weren't given knives for our entrees, particularly when ordering a pork chop, and I wish that had been noticed and addressed a little sooner. All in all, a wonderful dining experience in a prime River Walk location. I would definitely return the next time I find myself in San Antonio!

It was a hot Sunday afternoon, so there was no debate about where we wanted to sit. We headed straight for the wonderfully air-conditioned dining room, which provided a welcome break after spending time in the sun during our river cruise. Gabby was our server, and she was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive, took our order right away, and delivered our drinks promptly. What impressed us most was how she kept our drinks refilled without us ever having to ask. Her service was outstanding and made an already enjoyable lunch even better. The food was just as impressive. Our Mexican entrées were delicious and exactly what we needed after a hot afternoon on the River Walk. Between the excellent food, Gabby's attentive service, and the comfortable, modern dining room, Iron Cactus turned out to be the perfect place to relax and recharge. Pulled up on a Friday late night with my family ordered the standard 5 tacos. They are a bit pricey as well. I ordered the carne Asada and my mother in law ordered the chicken. While it did seem like it tasted good it was super greasy. (TMI coming up) When I woke up the next morning my I noticed my bowels were literally moving the next day, (I counted about 9 times). I felt bloated and everything. My wife even told me that as we were pulling off she witnessed the cook I believe his name is Julio eating some of the product while he was preparing peoples food (the side door of the food truck was open so you could see right in). Funny enough we decided to go back Saturday evening to give them another try, thinking it would be better, BOY was we wrong. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted.
