I am speechless to be honest, we came for a different food truck specifically but they weren't here so we decided to give this place a try. BOY AM I GLAD WE DID!!! Best food EVER!!! Super fast service and super kind and friendly! I am not even a burger person and tried my husband's and was shocked. The flavor burst in your mouth is crazy and it falls apart so nicely! The Quesadillas and Birria Taco are amazing. The young ladies there provided great customer service. The area itself just screams relaxation while giving the young kids a little playground to run off their energy. Hands down The Point Park has it made with "Monky's Torta!" The food is hot and made to order. I decided to try this food truck out at The Point Park out by Boerne Stage! I highly recommend this place if you head out here. The street tacos were pretty standard for Al Pastor Street Tacos and so I enjoyed them! They are a bit more expensive ($11-12) than some other places, but still are really good. I loved the Locas Fries! They kind of reminded me of chili cheese fries, but with a Mexican twist. These fries are loaded with chorizo and topped with bacon and nacho cheese that you get at concession stands or movie theaters. Jalapeños are placed on the side in a little cup. Since this is a part of The Point Park, there are picnic tables all around and I think live music depending on the day. I really recommend this place! Monky's serves one of, if not THE, best burger in SATX. Every time I go to the Point Park with all its options I still get the same double smash and fries and Monky's and its the best. I try a lot of other popular burger places and yet to have found a place that makes it as good, and I love the grilled jalapeño! read more

Food: let me start of that this food truck is off to a good start. Being Mexican I have eaten many tortas both in Mexico and in the United States. My issue was that the bistek tortas was under seasoned, not sure if the bistek was not marinated or if it was poorly seasoned but it had no flavor. The lettuce and tomato were fine the bread was not toasted on the inner side either with mayo or butter. The fries are mediocre and the cheese is the generic white mozzarella that has not flavor, it's not even Mexican white cheese. It feels like they have the correct idea but the wrong ingredients. Even the canned jalapeño were tasteless, that means they are buying the cheep kind. Jalapeño are to add spice but they also add that tangy flavor of the vinegar they are pickled in and this was not the case here. Cleanliness: the young man upfront was taking payment and was the cashier yet he was not using gloves when he was transitioning from payment to sprinkling onions and cilantro on food items, he was using his bare hands and not washing between meals prepared. Drinks: the aguas frescas they have a powdered kind that get mixed with water- dude talk about cheap big time. Every Mexican know that powered aguas frescas is bullshit! The word literally translates to fresh waters. Nothing fresh about powder! Price: the items are overpriced for some really underwhelming food, the tortas are a 5 dollar torta at best, the aguas frescas are an average 1.00 drink yet they sale it for 5.00 I get it running a good truck is expensive and I don't mind paying the prices posted but the food needs to also deliver the expectation. read more

Love a food truck that does a better job making food that restaurants normally make, and the tortas here do not disappoint. I've tried the ribeye and chicken tortas. Portion sizes do not disappoint, but the tortas themselves don't leave you feeling heavy as others might. The fries that come with are also a very delicious added touch. I got the birria tacos with extra salsa and a bean and cheese with bacon taco and a horchata Aqua Fresca and it was delicious!!!! It was my first time trying birria tacos and I was not let down. We showed up to Point Park to have a few drinks and some food. We walked around to pick a food truck and there was one that caught our eye and it was Monkys Tortas. We order Birria Tacos, Bistek Tacos and Milanese Torta. Talk about authentic Mexican food! Everything was delicious! All the proteins were cooked perfectly. The real winner was the lemongrass Banh mi with once again perfectly proportioned ingredients. We also ordered the fresh spring roll, which never came but wasn't missed except that they did try to charge us for but did remove them. They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.

Monky's tortas is great! I can't express the amazing experience I had with their food. I ordered a cubana expecting it to be the size of a sandwich, but it was so much more than that. Not only was it 3 times larger, but there was a lot in it. Not only a large amount of meat, but veggies and mayo as well. The service was definitely the best at The Point Park as they pulled me in telling me about the torta. I will say my first torta definitely will never be an experience I will forget. read more

Great tortes. First experience trying tortas, and wow they are amazing. By where I live we don't get authentic Mexican food like this and I loved everything about it. I tried the Cubana and it was great it had so many food combinations that just mixed so well. read more

The young lady who took our order was very polite and warm even though it was really a cold early Monday morning. She seemed shy or timid but I could still feel how warm her customer service was. We were surprised to get a huge serving of breakfast tacos. You can't compare their generous serving to the usual expensive breakfast tacos from bill miller or taco cabana.
