This las palapas location definitely deserves a higher rating! I've never eaten here because I do not live very close by. But we met here the day before Father's Day at 6pm and they accommodated our group of 20 with no problems at all. All of the servers/hostesses were so kind and quick! Best service at a las palapas location so far. Despite our group being large, all of the food arrived at the same time and piping hot and delicious. I'd definitely return even though I have several locations right by my house. Also wanted to add how beautiful the exterior is! Inside is super clean as well. Smells great too (the restrooms were VERY clean and have a great smell. That's unheard of in restaurants these days for sure). Great job las palapas y'all are doing something right ! Came to Las Palapas for a family lunch after a baby baptism at St Luke's. We made reservations and were made aware of a special baptism catering menu they offer...great, less to worry about. When we get there, they are sill setting up so we wait for a little bit before being seated. Once seated I look over the menu and order the puffy taco plate. When the order comes out all looks good. I try the rice and beans first and they are both good, well-seasoned and still warm. When I bite into the puffy taco, I get a very greasy mouthful of a very dry and stale tasting taco shell. I bring this to the attention of our server, and he apologized for the kitchen and offered to bring me something else so I order the enchiladas con crema. When that comes out it is very tasty and much better tasty than the puffy tacos. Overall, I will come back to Las Palapas but to the one by my house that I normally go to. Hopefully this location has better quality control to avoid an issue like this from happening again. read more

So you get what you pay for in most circumstances but not at this Las Palapas. There's a reason why the patronage is declining and it starts with their food. I wish I had a photo to post of a sad "puffy" taco but due to my fasting and lack of server follow up, I don't. The key to this dish is in the name and when you get a manager who tells you they can't confirm what you're plate looked like because you ate it, it's discouraging to even consider this place at all. Rachel is an interesting manager. I won't be back and you should reconsider your visit as well. The food didn't taste bad, it just wasn't what I ordered. A better name would have been soft tacos. Oh! We had a family event last Wednesday evening and after we're starving! We decided on Las Palapas on Evers since it was a little after 8 pm and most places closed at 9 pm. We called ahead for 20 people and when we got to the restaurant they told us to wait until at least 12 people were there, which was not an issue. After about 10 minutes they sat us at a table for 20 with at least 15 of us there. We felt so bad when about 12 more family members showed up and wanted to eat, we had to keep adding more tables. After about 45 minutes there were at least 32, maybe more, people at our table when we originally told them 20. Luckily the restaurant wasn't busy and we had 2 servers come take food and drink orders. The servers did amazing for a large party they had no idea would be showing up. The food was great and so were the drinks. We appreciate this location for their quick service and positive attitude, not one employee seemed to be annoyed we were there until after closing. read more

So, the dining area at this location recently reopened. For a while, there were small holes in the windows by the drive thru, which when we asked were attributed to a BB gun. The glass shatter looked like it was coming from inside, so my coworker and I definitely were hoping for a more comprehensive answer, but we didn't need it. After the closure, we noticed the inside was less decorated and despite the fresh paint felt a little more sterile and less cozy than it used to, but honestly we were just glad to be back in. When in quick lunch breaks from work, we generally get quick service and have not had someone get something wrong yet. The occasional instance of being asked twice by different people what drinks we wanted, but more attentive is always better. I recently started substituting in my rice and beans for the veggies, and unlike other places I have been nearby, it does not come out watery and bland. Also, in general, the sauce on their enchiladas in particular is much better than one of the nearby alternatives (coughNichascough). Also, the chips and salsa are still free unlike the aforementioned nearby alternative. I have never had a bad experience at this particular Las Palapas location. I will say, the parking situation is less than ideal, especially when the drive thru line gets long, but overall one of the most pleasant Las Palapas locations I have been to! read more

We received our order via Doordash. The plates were a mess!!! Everything was dumped together. The enchiladas were put in a Styrofoam box, so the cheese and sauce melted into the box. In addition, we were missing the charro beans, the flour tortillas, and the honey for the sopapillas. The Evers/ 410 location -Never Again. This is absolutely the worst Las palapas of them all. it's a franchise owned by Jimmy Jimenez, who has no customer service skills. He is absolutely the rudest owner/ manager I've ever encountered in my 50+ years in the food service industry. His concept of refusing you service if you have a question he doesn't like. he accused me of "having an attitude". For telling him, "to go ahead and scan my loyalty rewards barcode" he told me it wouldn't work on a gift card. Btw it does. When I was taking a photograph of his menu Marquee above the Togo counter he asked me "if I had just taken his picture?" Then he informed me he wasn't selling me a gift card and for me to leave then refuse to give me his name and told me it was none of my business. He has no concept of neighborhood, community or even any aspect of customer service. Charges $0.40 for a tortilla and you have to pay for it to go cup if you want to take your tea with you. Visited on a Sunday afternoon for dinner, figured the breakfast was good the dinner would be better right? Well I was right upon arrival we were quickly seated. The place comes with complementary chips and salsa which is a plus! Our waiter was attentive made stops here and there overall a satisfied customer. Now for the food, my wife ordered the cream green chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and for me I ordered the mama Ruth's chicken flautas with rice and beans which was nice and crispy ordered a crispy chicken taco on the side and the taco is what really won me over! It is great that they are also open 24 hours, so if you work a late night shift or early morning shift you can always grab something to eat if need be. On this occasion I ordered 1 Chicken Fajita taco and 1 Beef Fajita taco, both were great, tender and delicious. So for the longest time I have driven by Las Palapas and never stopped, but a friend from work talked about their weekly throw back specials on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I finally gave it a try, and now I am hooked. In general it is quick good Tex-Mex/Mexican food, nothing fancy but hits the spot. The real nice thing is their various throw back specials that rotate on Monday and Wednesday each week, some of the notable items are $0.79 bean and cheese tacos, potato and egg for about the same, or another great choice the $2.99 cheese enchilada plate served with 2 enchiladas, rice, beans and tortillas. They have various other specials that work their way through the rotation but these are my families favorites. A few others include the macho burrito, bacon egg taco, shredded chicken taco, and chicken soup, plus some bean and cheese nachos, or the bean and cheese chalupa. I do not recall ever getting something that didn't hit the spot, a few favorites that don't make the rollback special, unfortunately, are the chicken ranch taco which is grilled chicken, lettuce, ranch, tomato, avocado, cheese, and bacon in a fresh made tortilla, served warm so the cheese gets a little meaty, but the lettuce stays nice and fresh and crisp, and the ranch avocado mix to make a creamy delight, with some nice crunch from the crisp bacon. The taco Norteño is also great, you choice of meat with rice, beans, cheese and avocado. The LP super bowel is also tasty combining meat, rice, beans, queso, lettuce, tomato, and avocado, eat as is or use it to fill some tortillas. Their doors are also good, simple but tasty, what more could you want. They also have a Las Palapas souvenir mug, around a 32 oz mug, when you buy it it is the cost of a large drink plus a dollar extra, so the mug and drink for about $3.50, the kicker free refills every Monday, and dollar refills the rest of the week. I usually go for the house made lemonade which is quite tasty, though because they make it in house I have noticed some differences in taste from location to location, also note the 151 location does not offer the free refills, even though it is still listed on their drive through menu, simply because that was my 1 and only visit to this location, if it is still on the menu it is false advertising in my opinion. Another nice thing is from January through April they have a 100 Club Special, which helps families of fallen Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and First Responders, during this time $1.00 of each 100 Club Special goes to the 100 Club, plus you can round up your bill to donate as well. The 100 Club plate is 1 cheese enchilada, a flauta, a sope, with rice and beans for around $6.00 not a bad deal. So I definitely recommend stopping by one of the Las Palapas you have certainly passed numerous times, just remember to round it up, and get that free refill. read more

Then when you call about it, instead of being apolagetic about it, they give you an extremely hard time about getting what you already paid for. Las Palapas has pretty good breakfast tacos. I like that they keep the bacon separate from the eggs in their bacon and egg tacos until they put them together, so the bacon is not soggy. They have good salsa and a ew different ones. I like the green salsa and quemada. I have one of their refillable cups and the free refills on Mondays are nice. We have tried their happy hour a couple times, but its not that great. The food specials are pretty much different types of nachos and the drink selection is small. For lunch and dinner, I like the tacos al carbon. The meat is tender and has a good griled flavor. The service is sometimes slow and not too friendly. My husband and I were in town visiting family, and wanted to try some non-chain restaurants. We did not have a rental car so we couldn't venture too far from the hotel, and Las Palapas was fairly close. Yelp rating was pretty decent; figured it would be a safe choice. First impression - was not expecting a drive-thru. Was a little bummed because I thought that meant it was akin to a Taco Bell experience. I wanted something a little nicer than that. However, inside the restaurant it was bright and lively. Could not see the drive thru window anywhere, so I promptly forgot they even had one. Felt definitely like a tex-mex restaurant - on the cheaper side - but a few notches above fast food. It was busy on a Friday night, but not overwhelmingly so. Our server was friendly. And that was about it. She was so extremely slow, forgetful, and just not very good. We were at the restaurant far longer than we should have been - the time span between her visits to our table stretched into double-digit minutes. As for the food, it was decent. The free salsa was spicy, which is good if you like spicy, but I think they need to have a milder option as well. The guacamole was very good. It is served in a hollowed out avocado shell and chilled. Seems like a cute idea, but it was not user friendly. The shell has a rounded bottom, so it rolled all over the plate unless you held it down with your fingers. Would have preferred a bowl. I ordered the Enchiladas Con Crema, which was two chicken enchiladas covered in a cilantro cream sauce. This was very good and flavorful. The sauce was not overwhelming, which I appreciate. The charro beans that came with it were good as well. Nice smoky flavor. My husband had the puffy taco plate. Was not quite the success as my dish; average or maybe slightly above. I could have upped my rating to a 3-star if our server was better because the food was not bad at all. Just goes to show you, however, that a bad server can absolutely impact the overall experience of a restaurant. If I was a local, I would go back to try more of the menu and hopefully get more helpful, expedient service. read more

We had a gift card to visit Las Palapas and we've also heard good things so we decided to try it out. There was no wait for a table. It took about 4-5 minutes for the server to come and take our drink order. We ordered queso and chips as an appetizer and they gave us complementary salsa. We ordered the 3oz queso and it was tiny and came in a small dipping container. The dining area had music blaring with TVs going on both sides so it was hard to hear anything. The server misheard my order so it came out incorrectly. She wasn't rude about it but you can tell she was irritated about it. The correct order came out shortly after. The food itself was good. I got basic tacos with meat and cheese with rice. I enjoyed it. The taco shells were slightly stale but not horrible. The server didn't ask nor refill our chips which made the experience less. I don't want to eliminate this restaurant since I continue to hear good things but until I go again; this was a very average experience. read more
