I've driven past this place, and stopped at the Panadería a few times, but I've never eaten from the taco truck. Boy, , if I would've only known what I was missing. Patience is needed. The day I was there one lady was working both the store and the taco truck. It took a few minutes for her to come out. I ordered two tacos, a Carnitas, and a lengua. (Tongue). There was a small upcharge for the Lengua. For "street tacos", they were huge! Both the Carnitas and the lengua had very decent portions, and they were both tender and delicious. The tacos also came with a pico de gallo that was delicious, and was not very spicy. You can also get spicy hot sauce on it if you want instead of the pico. It was about eight bucks out the door. When I first paid, I thought that was a bit expensive. But then when I saw what I was getting? It was well worth it. I will be back. Thank you. read more

my experience is far from previous yelpers. Food underwhelming ordered asada super burrito and boy was it nothing but a bean and rice burrito with 4 lil pieces of meat, no sour cream no guac. My husband ordered Al pastor tacos and WTH it had hardly any meat and was filled with beans and rice. UMmm this was around 12 no other customers so didn't really understand why the meat was lacking in our food. Service is sketchy the pricing seemed overinflated and we never received a receipt. 40 dollars for a burrito and 2 tacos. We were better off eating at chipotle. Go with it first thought and just pass. The bakery smells great when you walk inside but the pan dulce is hard and dry. I really wanted to love this place sadly left confused. read more

This place used to be one of my favs in eureka. I haven't been for over a year and I would normally order a torta cuz the bread seemed fresh. I was craving some Mexican food and decided to come here instead of Taco Bell. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and a traditional al pastor taco. The carne asada was so salty, I had a difficult time eating it. The al pastor was a bit gritty, not very tasty, but slightly better than the carne asada. The red salsa was watery and bland. Very little flavor over all. Really disappointed this time around, doubt I'll be back especially considering the upset stomach I had the rest of the day. My own recipes I learned from in-laws in SoCal are much better. read more

This is ok and reasonably priced. I suppose I should have been weary of the price vs quality... good food for the price, location, fast service, and convenience. El pastor was the better compared to the Carne asada. The Carne asada flavor was OK, but the quality of the meat I didn't care for. It had more cartilagenous texture and trimmings. Unfortunately, I haven't had the best experiences with Mexican food in Eureka (salsa served in syrup containers?), but Tacos El Pueblo makes excellent tacos with fresh ingredients and excellent salsa. Bomb. The struggle is real in NorCal to find any decent salsa roja made from chile de arbol (red hot sauce). Having grown up in San Diego I pretty much have to wait until I down to the homeland to get any. And I always fill up a small bottle from a Roberto's or wherever just to get some because you can't even buy it in stores. I've been here almost 10 years and am constantly disappointed by most of the mexican food, and don't even get my hopes up for proper red hot sauce. THIS TRUCK HAS IT!!! We were driving through Eureka on the 101 and found this truly amazing taco truck located on the corner of Washington St. and the 101. We had Al Pastor, asada and tripas tacos. WOW!!! Fantastic. While we waited for our order, we went inside the humble Panaderia next to the taco truck and got tamales de elote (sweet corn tamales) and conchas (sweet bread). We highly recommend folks to stop by and trys this place. If they are not at that location, call and ask where they are located, it is totally worth it. Happy Taco Tasting! read more

Was in the area on Memorial Day looking for some easy cheap food, something filling. I saw there were several taco spots in town, but 4 or 5 didn't even exist!! The other one was just closed that day. I stumbled here on accident and it was the most satisfying burrito I've had. I ordered an al pastor burrito. Came with rice, beans and cheese on the inside. All I needed in there. I asked for the rest on the side which was guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Basically a sauce version of a Mexican flag. Which means it's good. The guacamole is watered down with pico so it's not good (it's not even green...) and doesn't even taste like guacamole. The cheese in my quesadilla wasn't melted, the burrito was mostly filler and the jamaica was overly sweet and didn't taste fresh. Ok, I'll gladly write the first review for this delicious little nugget of taco heaven. When I go to places like Tacos El Pueblo I always get the tacos, never the burrito so I'll let you judge their burrito making abilities. I tried the carne asada and it was perfectly seasoned with delicious salsa roja and traditional cilantro and cebolla with sliced radishes on the side. Excellent flavor and very tender beef. I tried the lengua, and while not seasoned much it was very tender and cooked perfectly. The salsa roja and a generous squeeze of lime definitely helped out, but I get lengua mostly for it's beefy-ness and smooth texture, and if a taco truck can make great lengua you know everything else is going to be good! All in all, 5 stars for my first visit. I'm coming back on Sunday to try the carnitas! I recommend you give them a try. read more

Ok....in the heart of Humboldt county is the meca of Eureka. On my latest trip there I decided to hit up taco trucks.. Started w/ speedy taco... absolutely epic..! ( See my rambling review) Then I ran across this wagon.. I asked 3 people in line "" is this food any good"" two replied " never been" other said "" mexicans at work said this is the best".. Well hell I better get this in my vains.. So to keep my reviews on the same plan. I better order the same...so it's a El pastor burrito. The hot little chica taking money was about clueless. That should have been first clue. ..get my burrito..( it's big) Jump in my junker and head South. Toward home, crack open a soda, unwrap this large tinfoil log with my lips smackin I bit into this Mammoth mexican log and Holly shit..!!! It's the dryest god damn burrito I've ever shoved in my pie hole.. Ok....maybe I just hit a bump in the road and I better try it again. Wash out my mouth w/a chug of soda and ready for second try. And BAM..drive Another bit in the pie hole... I pull back...look in the horse blanket holding rice and some sort of maybe meat... Next thing....window comes down..and my mexican log explored on the 101 ..Rice and beans at 80 mph...it was epic. This place is outstanding!! The torta's are so incredibly delicious. The meat here is moist and flavorful, not like most places that give you over cooked, dried meat. I'm happy to drive from Mk to Eureka just for one of their tortas!! And the corn and fruit cups take me back to sunny days in Rosario!! read more

We were new to town and we're making a Target run but had to get some dinner first. Drove by this and decided to stop. Coming from Southern California we happily went with the taco truck in hopes it would be delicious and inexpensive. Score on both. We got two carne Asada tacos that my three year old ate happily but said was a bit spicy and made his mouth hot but he ate most of both. I had a classic grilled chicken burrito which was delicious and my husband had the carne asada super burrito. The portion sizes were generous and everything was under $25.
