To be clear, I have no problem with being asked to leave after closing. The problem was the owner's arrogant, aggressive, and humiliating way of speaking to paying customers. We were not loud, causing trouble, or refusing to leave. One polite sentence would have solved everything. The most disturbing part is that this was not an untrained employee--it was the OWNER. That means the disrespect comes directly from the top. He was happy to accept our money at 10:50, but twenty minutes later treated us like garbage he needed removed. Good food cannot compensate for an owner who shows this much contempt toward his own customers. There are plenty of taco restaurants in Orlando run by people who understand basic manners and appreciate your business. Spend your money at one of them. I will never return to Black Rooster Taqueria, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.

So I had to go to my ole reliable restaurant for tacos. I arrived without a reservation on a Saturday early evening, and was able to sit in the bar. The bartender told me about their popular drink options, an explained their home made margaritas. I did their regular margarita on the rocks (about 13 or 14 dollars), which they freshly squeezed the citruses to a juice, then added the tequila and other ingredients. It tasted fresh, refreshing, and just had the right amount of tequila to fiesta. For the tacos, I chose the chicken verde, duck, fish, and shrimp tacos, and a small cucumber salad as a side. Each taco has an ample amount of meat and toppings, but they are mostly bite sized that can be finished in two to three bites. The meats are fresh and delicious, and the sauces enhanced the flavor. To kick it up a notch, I added the jabenaro sauce too. My favorite had to be duck as it was tender and had the gamey flavor I enjoy! The cucumber salad was refreshing, but the chili flakes they had did give me a donkey kick. For dessert, the tres leches came in a mason jar, and was moist and rich. Just enough to have me filled and satisfied. The service was excellent, with the bartender and manager checking up on me a couple times. But something that is genuinely underrated about bartaco is the fact that their teams are consistently some of the kindest, most memorable hospitality crews I have ever encountered, no matter what city I find myself in. I am a bartaco Coconut Grove loyal through and through, but I grew up going to the Dr. Phillips location, and coming back felt in a way like coming home. What truly solidified that feeling was the unbelievable customer service, especially from Andrew, the manager who was there the night I visited. I went to cap off my birthday after a day at the parks, and in Orlando, not a lot of places are open that late, so I am so glad I ended up here! And even though we arrived at the tailend of their shift, the crew treated us like absolute royalty and with so much care. All the dishes were flavored to absolute perfection, the classic bartaco flavors but somehow elevated to a whole new level, and the customer service was something I will genuinely never forget. I love their version of a crunch wrap as well as anything birria that they offer. My only real gripe is that their drink selection is lacking as they don't have traditional soda fountain drinks. It is basically just canned drinks or custom flavored lemonade drinks, which typically cost around $5 each. Also, make sure to bring your wallet as their food in general is $$$ for fast casual. However, the higher quality makes it worth it to me.
