This was honestly the worst food I've ever had. location 2255 U.S Hwy 17-92 N Haines city FL 33844, the meat is flavorless and the beans were so watery and also zero flavor. I left the whole thing cause it was hard to shove it down cause of how awful it was. This was so bad that I hope people read this and maybe they can save some money cause I wasted 33 bucks and didn't even eat it. Mofongo only good food and depending on the location u go to. They don't cook well in this one. Expensive and by how long they be taking it makes u think the food is gonna be amazing. I'm telling u guys I never leave reviews but it was so bad that I was compelled to say it cause I wish I would have known this before I went to this location.

Carnitas (Pork) Fries and a side salad. Doesn't even look appetizing.

My coworker and I were hungry and heard good talk about this food truck and in then end the food was Dry, Burnt, Way to salty, the fries were soggy, and the tostones were undercooked. Prices were way too much for two dishes and honestly horrible service. The side salad was hot and should have been placed in a separate container. The woman there wasn't wearing a mask and refused to wear one because it was to hot. Talk about safety Refuse to order from them again.

    Alcapurria deliciosa.

This place is very yummy!! I was craving an alcapurria and couldn't help myself, I had to try like 5 more things from this little gem. The wait was about 10minutes which was really fast for all the things I ordered. The only thing (not pictured) that I didn't care for too much was the shrimp empanadas, only because I hate bell peppers and it had a lot of them in there but that's just me, NOW the pizza empanadas are absolutely AMAZING, they're filled and they're truly so enjoyable I almost went back for two more. If you're looking for a good Puerto Rican experience, I recommend this one for sure.

We came to eat here because it was one of the food trucks located in the lot. When we ordered, we were told it would take about 25-30 mins. We waited over 45 mins for our food and you can see other people next to us were visibly upset. It came out to $55 for two people -- granted, my husband bought the Picaribe Especial which could easily feed 3 people. However, this gave us the opportunity to try a little bit of everything because it came with chicken wings, fried pork (masas), pork sausage, and chicken along with mofongo, fried cheese, tostones and fries. The mofongo had way too much garlic (and I love garlic). Tostones and fries were a little soggy but the cheese and meats were good. I ordered a churrasco plate with arroz con gandules and tostones and it did not have the look, taste or texture of churrasco. You can tell it was cooked on a flat iron and the meat was too chewy. The rice was extremely salty and difficult to eat.

    Menu

The portions was huge definitely got your money worth. Mofungo Loco had ham, sausage, beef, chicken, lettuce shredded cheese with house sauce. The chicken empanadas was big but not a lot of meat and really no flavor. The fried pork was good just enough seasoning and the sauce with it was tasty probably just a mayo and ketchup combo.

    Mofongo Carne Frita

So far so good I'm on the hunt for the best Mofongo! It his place is a big red school bus. I ordered the Mofongo an carne frita it came with a very small Side salad. Mofongo is good and moist. Pork is good and tender.

FOUND A FLY IN THE PAPA LOCA!

Service was kind and attentive. Prepared in a decent amount of time. Price was high but the food smelled SO GOOD and we were hungry we hoped it would be worth it. Pork flavor was good but tooo dry and literally hard to chew. FOUND A FLY IN THE PAPA LOCA! There was no passion in their craft. There was no pride in the preparation or the product.

Finally found a place or food truck in this case with THAT Mofongo I was looking for! Immediately tasted the garlic, nicely seasoned and of course the pork rinds in the mix making it worth every bite. Not into salads while eating this type of food but it definitely combined nicely with the Mofongo.

I don't need to say anything.

Their service is great and fast, but more importantly their food is mouth watering good. It always leaves me with a craving to come back and a full stomach ready to tackle the rest of my workday. My favorites have consisted of a Cuban sandwich which is full of pork and sauce and toasted nicely. It also does not fall apart when eating which is a plus when you are trying to stay looking presentable. Their pork is amazingly juicy and just falls apart in your mouth and has been worth every stain I have accidentally caused on my dress shirts. The white rice is fluffy and simple and good but their yellow rice is much better with many items. Their chicharron de cerdo is crispy and breaks easy and it's never been hard or chewy. Their ropa vieja is also delicious and I can't help but devour the entire plate. The rice and beans paired real good with this! My favorite sides have been the avocado salad and their macaroni salad! Both very light and balanced well with light citrus flavors in the avocado salad. I'll keep coming back here because the food honestly reminds me of so many great dishes my family use to make at home and after eating at so many places around Orlando I had yet to find a better place to get Spanish food like this!

With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. Next time I'll ask for a side of cucumbers or something to break up all of the fried elements, or order something that comes with slaw/veggies.

You order at a kiosk fast food style, but all of the food is then prepared freshly and authentically. They have a huge menu with all kinds of delicious Latin eats like sandwiches and platters. We absolutely loved our Cuban sammies which came on thick and sweet bread. My kids kept it simple with tenders and fries and also enjoyed! They have a big drink selection and you can find everything from juices to fresh cocktails. The biggest hit was their large indoor screened patio - perfect for my kids to run around. We visited around 3:15pm on a Saturday and ordered at a tablet. I got a pernil with plantains and my companion got a churrasco. I also got their limited time St Paddy's day mocktail. It was kind of like a virgin apple mojito and it was really good and refreshing. The pernil was excellent as usual: well sauced and tender and juicy. The churrasco was beautifully cooked and seasoned. They always knock it out of the park here with their meats. The plantains were of course delicious as usual, and the service was great. My only comment is that I could've sworn that this place had Alfajores a few years ago. I could be wrong, but I vaguely recall them being delicious and I was sad to not see them on the menu this time. Any way you roll the dice, you won't regret coming to sofrito. They're quick, it's well priced, and the food has never disappointed me in my 7 years of going here.
