Sancocho appetizer size

I feel the service could be more attentive but they are friendly. The interior is clean but not super upscale. A mix of high top, bar seating, and low top tables. The music is nice and not too loud. I went with a cocktail and appetizer sized sancocho. The sancocho didn't have much to it but was tasty. 2 pieces of veggie and one piece of meat with a lot of bones. It had a great flavor though and wasn't too salty. A good portion for the price. The cocktail was strong. I think the cocktails are reasonably priced for the area.

A fantastic Latin American restaurant in Orlando, Florida. If you've had this type of cuisine before, then you know. If you never have, you have to. Carnitas, Barbacoa, Polo, sll of the proteins. Mofongo, deep fried, and sweet Plantains, plus much more. I had the Passion Fruit Ribs, in a Mofongo bowl. Excellent presentation, but even better tasting ribs. Ribs were tender, juicy, country style, with a Passion Fruit bbq sauce, excellent!!! The Mofongo, which are Plantains in a dough like form, excellent as well! An appetizer of deep fried pork belly, was amazing! Crunchy, juicy, so flavorful. Brother had the Roast Pork, with beans and rice, he loved it!! Next time in Orlando, I will be back!

Was greeted with friendly hellos and was sat down quickly. I ordered from them in the past when I ordered delivery in my area since they were close by. They have great reviews so I always planned to visit their location in person. They explained that they had lunch specials that came with tons of sides to choose from. I got the crispy pork which was cooked perfectly and got a passion fruit juice that was a perfect level of sweet and tart. I ordered a Yaroa to go and they packed it full, definitely money's worth. They have a shared parking lot so it made parking easy and to get to the restaurant. Will bring my family next time to enjoy the food and service. If you are by the area check them out!

Heard about this spot that it was a mix of something like Dominican and Puerto Rica ...yup, say no more, I'm already sold. Friendly atmosphere, and many people that were dining had either been friends (from the other side of the room) or they've seen each other at the restaurant more than once. Can't remember the last time I walked into a restaurant like that where there are actually regulars like you'd see on sitcom, but it was a good indication that if you have good service and good food, they will come back. Field of Dreams couldn't even do that! Then it's recommended to try the "Mofongo", I've never even heard of it and by the look of the menu picture I was thinking it was going to be a small dish. I. Was. Wrong. They served the Mofongo in what looked like a kings chalice, and they were loaded. No over loaded to the top, and still piled on more with even more meat, and even more flavor. Y'all I ate that giant chalice, kings cup thingy, and I didn't even get half way through it and a brother had to tap out cus he was full. And I had plenty to take home. You ever get introduced to a food, then you eat it and it leaves a lasting memory? Like you literally have to say that word and it teleports you back to the very day, when you first had it? This is what ChimiKing did when they served us this "Mofongo"

One thing bout this place is that the photos you see are almost far from what it truly is. Well begin with service Service & Staff 5/10 (Restaurant was almost empty but my waiter would disappear and took a while to get the "everything good here?" Question. Ambiance was 7/10. Place looked clean and well lit up. I could see what i was eating so thats kinda good. But Food was definitely a 5/10 First off i ordered a churrasco. The skirt steak was as thin as a 2 credit cards but luckily it was fresh and seasoned well. 2nd the arroz con guandules came out semi luke warm with actual cold spots around it. It didnt seem fresh the flavor was terrible no sazon no flavor and it was extremely dry. Tasted like hospital rice. 3rd. The tostones were 6.5/10 only because they were freshly made and big. But a little undercooked. I guess its cus they are big and dont get to cook fully. 4th i had the mojito de parcha and it was a 5/10 The mojito had some strong liquor that over powered the parcha and it very acidy Through it all dont think id come back to this place but sure hope they fix that rice.

ChimiKing is my go to Dominican restaurant whenever I'm in Orlando. They have an extensive menu, but I always go for the chicharrón mofongo since it's my favorite Dominican dish and they make it perfectly every time. The prices are fair and very affordable, and the service is consistently excellent. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Orlando area and looking for authentic Dominican food.

3.75-4 stars! Visited for the first time on a Friday evening and we all had a nice time. We were a party of 7 and were seated right away. Our server Carol was very sweet and helpful. It seemed like she didn't speak English, which wasn't a problem for me, but of course it might be for others. However, the menu was both in English & Spanish, so that helps with ordering :)! Chimiking offers their version of PuertoRican and Dominican food. I ordered the mixed seafood mofongo with garlic sauce & a passion fruit mojito. The drink was strong and tasty! The mofongo sauce wasn't traditional Puerto Rican in taste but regardless it was very flavorful! It needed some acidity and brightness-- from like a cilantro mojo for example-- to balance the richness, but they didn't have any. The only condiments offered were ketchup, Mayo ketchup & a hot sauce that tasted like Cholula brand. Prices are a little expensive but my food was tasty so I'd visit again.

I really hope they go back to how they were before. Dine in or to go, Chimi King has a good service and the most flavorful food. It made me feel at ease ordering delivery because it still came fresh and hot. Regrettably, lately, I've been having less than five stars experiences.although the food still has amazing flavor, the chicken is overcooked and way too fried. This is a personal preference, but I used to get way more cheese before than now. I do appreciate greatly that they don't use too much garlic. I'm going soon again and I hope I can bring a different update. The musts?! You must try the guava, empanada, and all of their juices (I even liked tamarind, and i never drink tamarind).

Their service is great and fast, but more importantly their food is mouth watering good. It always leaves me with a craving to come back and a full stomach ready to tackle the rest of my workday. My favorites have consisted of a Cuban sandwich which is full of pork and sauce and toasted nicely. It also does not fall apart when eating which is a plus when you are trying to stay looking presentable. Their pork is amazingly juicy and just falls apart in your mouth and has been worth every stain I have accidentally caused on my dress shirts. The white rice is fluffy and simple and good but their yellow rice is much better with many items. Their chicharron de cerdo is crispy and breaks easy and it's never been hard or chewy. Their ropa vieja is also delicious and I can't help but devour the entire plate. The rice and beans paired real good with this! My favorite sides have been the avocado salad and their macaroni salad! Both very light and balanced well with light citrus flavors in the avocado salad. I'll keep coming back here because the food honestly reminds me of so many great dishes my family use to make at home and after eating at so many places around Orlando I had yet to find a better place to get Spanish food like this!

Beautiful restaurant - I wish I had taken more photos inside but the place was packed (a good sign)…read moreand I try not to take pictures of random families and post them online. With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. Next time I'll ask for a side of cucumbers or something to break up all of the fried elements, or order something that comes with slaw/veggies.

My homegirl, Rosie recommended this spot, so we decided to give it a try--and honestly, the food was amazing. The vibe was great too. They even had entertainment while we were there, which made the whole experience even better. The downside was my friend's pork chunks was over cooked and that our waitress wasn't very friendly, and we had to wait a while to get refills on our drinks. It didn't ruin the experience, but it's something that could definitely be improved. Overall though, the food and atmosphere were great. This is the reason for my 3 star review.
