Air conditioned sit down area.

Maybe I didn't read far enough into the reviews, but be aware that this is not a sit down restaurant. The menu options are posted on an electric board above a buffet-style food choices, like Panda Express. The staff serving the food does not speak English well, so knowing Spanish is helpful but not entirely necessary. The food.... DELICIOUS! I wanted to try everything, but stuck to our standard Cuban sandwich, black beans, yuca, and fried plantains. All were delicious and the yuca was the softest that I have ever had. Yum!!

This is a no for me, at least for breakfast. They charged me $13 for a flavorless omelette with potatoes, it didn't have any salt or pepper, or even cheese, it had no condiment at all, that's the price you would pay if you were at a place sitting down and someone would bring you the food on an actual plate. In any other location this type of dish served in a foam container does not exceed $7, honestly I could not finish it, I think the sausages were the only thing worth eating.

Five stars for delicious food at an affordable price. This was my first time eating at Tropical Cabana. We did make a wrong turn and got lost but got back n Central Florida Parkway and found it. It's a cute little blue building in the middle of a warehouse district. Don't let that dissuade you from eating here, the food is really fantastic. I came in search of a skirt steak but after reading other yelp reviews about the pork I had to try it. The pulled pork was delicious and not sweet. I had a lunch special which was the pork and rice and black beans plus I added sweet plantains to the order. My vegetarian husband ordered a plate of veggies plus the black beans had rice. We both loved what we ate and look forward to returning nad I will finally have the skirt steak.

Scramble eggs (had to put cheese myself at home)

Totally overpriced, The flavor was horrible, the plantain was hard, I asked for cheese on my scramble egg and I got nothing, I had to put it my self at home, the avocado slice was 2 usd and It was watery, the only good part was the sausage, it was decent, I'm giving them 2 stars because the service was good, very friendly staff, price for this was 18 usd plus 2 usd in tip

After attending a wedding we were looking for a place to eat around the area and we found this place which is located in an industrial area. The place is small but cozy, not a luxurious place and it seems to be a family restaurant with Dominican food. You can order via the menu or you can order at the counter from the prepared food. I ordered from the prepared food counter the Pernil (pork) with rice and potatoes. The Pernil was delicious, perfectly seasoned, good texture and the rice and potatoes were very good too. My wife also ordered from the counter the chicken and it was very good too. From the menu we ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was very good too. Next time I'm in Orlando I'll come back to this place, the food and its flavours were really good. Did I mention the prices are good too.

What an amazing Hispanic food spot. It's served similar to a cafeteria style and the staff members are super friendly. The restaurant has classics like ropa vieja (shredded boiled beef), roast pork, and roasted chicken. They have an excellent selection of rice, including yellow rice with pigeon peas, yellow rice, vegetable rice, and white rice. Beans, maduro, and yucca can be selected to accompany your meal. The lunch box consists of a selection of rice, meat, and veggie. I did the pigeon pea rice, ropa vieja, and maduro. Mmmm!!

Wow! Apparently this place is popular. Location kind of sucks, it's in the middle of an industrial area and the parking area seems lacking. Inside, I told the lady it was my first time there, and I had not been to Florida since I was a kid. She recommended I get the pork special. A heaping plate of carnitas, even some of the skin which was crispy. Rather than rice and beans, I had a heap of vegetables instead. I grabbed a jugo de Coco out of the cooler and sat down with my plate. They have house made hot sauce which was the icing on the cake! Wow. No wonder this place has so many good reviews!

Disclaimer: I am not of Hispanic descent nor am I familiar with Hispanic food so I'll just have to describe these food because I don't know their proper names. So I have stumbled across this place on yelp a few times while looking for somewhere new to eat but always had avoided it because as I disclaimed, I'm not familiar with Hispanic food and me being Asian, I tend to gravitate toward Asian food. But since I was out and about today and feeling adventurous, I decided to give this place a try. I came at around 3, sat in the car for a few minutes and saw a few people coming and going, just stopping in for to-goes. I think that's what most people do, the entire time I dined in I was one of the only seated customers but there was a steady flow of people coming in for to-goes. The menu is in Spanish, and most of the items on the line look unfamiliar, so the kind young man named Elvin behind the line explained each and every one of them to me! It was so nice of him, he even let me try a few things before ordering just so I know. I had tried the beef stew looking one and another fish dish, both were a little dry and overcooked for my liking, perhaps because it's pretty late into the afternoon already so they've been sitting under heat for awhile. I ended up with yellow rice, black beans, tilapia, and I added plantains on the side but since I didn't know which ones were good, he just gave me both sweet and salted ones. It was so sweet of him. Another thing that caught my attention was this tripe soup. Elvin warned me ahead of time that it's made of gizzard and such things, which being Asian I eat those things so I got a small bowl of that, and that also came with rice. Everything I got was amazing! They were kinda just lukewarm but it wasn't too bad. The fish wasn't overdone and the rice and beans were flavorful and paired perfectly together. And I LOVED the soup! I love trips and with the tomato broth with some carrots and potatoes it was amazing! I packed some of my food to-go and went for a dessert! They have vanilla, coconut, and milk flan, and I picked the coconut one. I've only had flan maybe twice so I'm no expert but this one was creamy and not too crazy sweet and definitely something I would get again! And I do like the sweet plantain better than the salted one, the salted ones were too bready for me and wasn't very flavorful. Next time I'll try the one mixed with onion!

This is hands down a must! Came to Florida for the first time and we were searching for a really good Latin place that is close to home style food. I felt very welcomed and the customer service was on point. Kind of like a mother nurturing you and making sure you're fed good food lol. The lady kept smiling and that just made our experience even better. We got three full plates for only $25 dollars. It is so cheap and so worth your money. We sat down instead of doing take out. And the lady brought our plates to the table and set us up with utensils. I have too because the customer service was good for a small place. They give you a generous amount of food! We had to take the rest home. The white rice with black beans on top was so good like home food and the beef stew was so flavorful! I loved the regular plantains as well as the sweet ones. I also got the pork which was very popular according to the lady. It looked like a whole pig was roasted. Some parts were dry but some parts were juicy and it reminded me of carnitas from a regular Mexican taco place. So it was okay. I liked the beef stew more because the beef was so tender and juicy. I would go here again next time I come. If there is another place other than this place, please let me know!

Food was the best, good price and portions! Get a grape soda! They have great pork, pollo frito, arroz con grandulas, sweet plantains and so much more great food. I stopped by before heading out to Gatorland. Will be back when I'm in town next!

During my Orlando visit I was staying close to this place and decided to pay them a visit. I had the garlic shrimp mofongo and the wife a couple empanadas. Everything was really good, fast service and great prices.

No,it is not a buffet; however the pictures look like it as they serve it like a school cafeteria. Food is delicious and they give you huge portions!

Their service is great and fast, but more importantly their food is mouth watering good. It always leaves me with a craving to come back and a full stomach ready to tackle the rest of my workday. My favorites have consisted of a Cuban sandwich which is full of pork and sauce and toasted nicely. It also does not fall apart when eating which is a plus when you are trying to stay looking presentable. Their pork is amazingly juicy and just falls apart in your mouth and has been worth every stain I have accidentally caused on my dress shirts. The white rice is fluffy and simple and good but their yellow rice is much better with many items. Their chicharron de cerdo is crispy and breaks easy and it's never been hard or chewy. Their ropa vieja is also delicious and I can't help but devour the entire plate. The rice and beans paired real good with this! My favorite sides have been the avocado salad and their macaroni salad! Both very light and balanced well with light citrus flavors in the avocado salad. I'll keep coming back here because the food honestly reminds me of so many great dishes my family use to make at home and after eating at so many places around Orlando I had yet to find a better place to get Spanish food like this!

Beautiful restaurant - I wish I had taken more photos inside but the place was packed (a good sign)…read moreand I try not to take pictures of random families and post them online. With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. Next time I'll ask for a side of cucumbers or something to break up all of the fried elements, or order something that comes with slaw/veggies.
