Watching the receipt get pulled from the trash also left us questioning everything a little after that. What concerned me the most was that after digging through the trash, the cook never changed gloves before going back to handling food. That completely made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness and food handling practices. On top of that, the bathroom was dark, not very clean, and out of paper towels, which added to the overall poor impression of the place. They typically have picnic tables set up outside for folks who would like to eat right at the location. My curiosity got the best of me so I decided to stop by on Monday, November 21, 2022. The proprietor is from Columbia and serves dishes from his native country. I decided on his three empanada special for $8.00 and opted for a mix of chicken and beef. After a few minutes the empanadas were served piping hot with picante and tartar sauces included. The Columbian version of the empanada uses corn instead of wheat flour for its base and they were cooked to perfection. The empanadas had a crisp, light exterior with superbly seasoned chicken and beef fillings. The business owner was welcoming and friendly and I will definitely stop by in the future to try more items on his menu.
