a menu for a mexican restaurant

Auténtica comida Mexicana. Ingredientes frescos. ¡Los tacos y los burritos estaban deliciosos!

I went to Tacos el Joven upon the recommendation of my foodie friend, so I had high expectations going into it. I'm so happy that these expectations were met - not by the decor or location or convenience, but by the authentic food served by genuine and friendly people. I knew it was the spot when Mexican locals were swinging by to pick up their orders on their way home from work. They have a simple menu posted up on their food truck, and you DON'T see the Americanized versions that are loaded with sour cream and guac. The tacos are two layers of corn tortilla (super important!) topped with meat fresh off the grill, some onion, cilantro, and lime on the side. I had the Asada (it had the texture of ground beef) and it was seasoned perfectly, served hot. My friends had the Pollo tacos and the Tortas, and gave rave reviews as well. Even though I live nowhere near the food truck, I am looking forward to making the drive out there to pick up tacos again soon!

Best tacos on the west side! $2-$2.50 tacos are my favorite. Served with onions and cilantro with cucumber on the side. I usually get the beef lengua. Do not be deceived by the rough exterior. :) This is a taco truck so I recommend ordering to go.

I found myself disturbingly hungry and as always my go to is yelp which is where I found this place. From the food pictures I was definitely impressed so I figured I'd give it a try. I will say I was definitely a little disappointed when I pulled up and noticed that it was not a actual restaurant but a taco truck then quickly I remembered some of the best tacos or from taco trucks. I could tell immediately that the food was going to be authentic because I had to almost use Google translate to place my order. After a very short while my food was ready and I was more than surprised by how delicious it was. The food was seasoned to perfection and textured correctly in every aspect. The tortilla was not soggy and the meet was very tender. I only got the tacos so I can imagine what the quesadillas or tostadas are going to be like I will be returning!!!

    Enchiladas were awesome!

This place was great and homemade tasting. I had the enchiladas and the cheese enchiladas were really great. Will definitely be back to eat here again on my next visit to CVG.

Don't care what the weather, I will come out for these tacos!

The best! Tacos taste like the ones I had in Mexico! This is a food truck so not a sit down restaurant.

Lengua (beef tongue): this is a hit or miss at some restaurants, but I loved it here.

It was so substantial that I only made it through half. I enjoyed it with chorizo, but for a modest surcharge, they will make it with brisket! The Al Pastor Hash was the standout. It was beautifully balanced, full of bold, authentic flavors, and expertly prepared. One of my brunch-mates spends much of the year traveling through Latin America, and he was genuinely impressed. Excellent food, generous portions, and a memorable brunch experience. We'll definitely be back and look forward to trying more of the menu! Attentive service and a beautiful location in Downtown Cincinnati's quiet Pendleton neighborhood made the morning perfect.

We had the queso which is not your average. Its thick cheesy texture tucks inside of a small tortilla. So, not your typical chips and queso . The addition of a roasted jalapeno was brilliant! We split an order of beef tacos, and had the street corn( the exact menu name fails me). It was some of the best I've had. Fun place with a delightful vibe and top notch food and service.

We sat at the bar and was greeted right away - they changed the way you order - the last time I was here I ordered what I wanted with a pen and paper this time I listed what I wanted to the waitress - I think I like the other way better as there is less room for error. I ordered the 1/2 order of chips with garden salsa (just a fancy way to say verde salsa) it was delicious and the chips were perfectly crisp and salty. I also got a build your own taco with the ranch seasoned shell and the chicken ( I wasn't a huge fan of the chickens texture). The price is realtivley cheap and I like how this location on the weekend has specials that cater to the crowd of the banks like 2 for 20$ margarita flights. The inside was clean enough and the bathroom wasn't the worst I have seen.

There was absolutely no queso inside the burrito. There was cheese that wasn't even melted. I don't know how that's possible when you make a burrito unless it's stuff that's been sitting around forever, which would be my guess I've ordered in Columbus and in Cleveland from this restaurant never been impressed. I hope Barrio comes to Cincinnati in the banks someday. The shredded chicken tasted great! But I didn't ask for a half pound of shredded chicken with some tomatoes and lettuce. You guys gotta figure this kitchen stuff out.
