Stopped in here on a recent visit to DTO. Ordered the asada, al pastor and carnitas and all were solid 10s. Tried them with the habanero salsa and it was just the right amount of heat where it didn't overpower the food or burn my tongue. The tacos came with fried and pickled onions and they were a nice treat to have in between. They have a ton of other things that'll have to try next time. The service was great and I will definitely come back next time in Oxnard. This is more of a "taco spot" than a restaurant as there are no dinner plates with rice & beans and you order at the front. There is no indoor seating. The seating is out on the sidewalk (cafe style) or the cute back patio which felt like a little trip to Baja. My gang ordered quesabirra tacos (served with consommé), asada tacos and a quesabirria burrito, served with small sides of pickled vegetables and three salsas (red, green and habanero). It's simple food; all of it executed spectacularly well. The service was extremely friendly and reasonably prompt. The irony of it is that we'll be visiting "El Diablo" weekly after church . SERVICE: I finally had the chance to check out this spot. Twice we showed up and it was closed. As you see from everyone's lovely pictures, the venue is full of color and nature. Service was good. So we were running some errands in the Camarillo/Oxnard area and we though it would nice to get some tacos. Based on reading some Yelp reviews and seeing some pictures, we ended up here. The menu offers a wide variety of tacos, burritos, and other dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. We got 8 carne asada tacos for about $24, chips and salsa for about $6, a simple quesadilla for $9, and a Mexican coke for $3.75. Yup, you read those prices correctly. Our total was almost 50 bucks and I've had much, much better tacos in Oxnard and other places for less than $2 per taco. Yes, they were seasoned nicely, they were not greasy and tasted good with the salsa, onions, and cilantro, but definitely not like a perfect delicious juicy authentic street taco. The tortilla chips were freshly made and really delicious, so sure, will let it slide, but quesadilla for $9? I thought it was insane. Also, please add more lime on the side for the tacos, we just had 2 very very tiny wedges for 4 tacos LOL. Now the services. Angelita, the lady who helped us out at the register, needs to be more self aware. She was giving me such a sarcastic smirk the whole time and even bothered to look at me up and down and rolled her eyes, as if I looked funny or was inferior to her. Ehhhh .. went here for dinner . Not the friendliest staff . Do you get agua fresca without ice? Well .. expect to get a smaller sized cup . Restaurants , for example , if serving a 12oz cup should do 10oz agua and 2oz ice not the other way around . It's not what the customer is paying for . Definitely not paying for a cup of ice. I can go across the street and get that free at the Starbucks. The lady basically dumped the agua into a smaller cup when I said no ice, please. Their agua fresca otherwise is mostly ice which I don't think is ok . I have never had this happen at other taco shops when I ask for no ice . My bf asked for ice. When they do scoop ice they use a scooper that they then dump back in the ice maker full of ice (dirty), no washing hands to cut up strawberries for the fresa horchata/gloves and that's just gross. The Asada tacos are dry and the meat is too thick for my liking . Salsas are ok. We will never come back . Lack of basic food prep musts, blah food and poor customer service . read more

This is now my go to spot for tacos when I am visiting back home! I came here with my bestie on his recommendation. I live in San Diego so I told him I better not be disappointed or I would smack him. And just wow these tacos were so good that I came back the next day like the big back that I am since I wanted to try the other meats. All the tacos I got were so good packed with so much meat and so much flavor and the fact that they were all $3.10 each really surprised me. I also got birria queso tacos ($5each) which were huge and the consome was good as well. I'm surprised I finished everything and I can eat. In San Diego you get a decent taco for minimum $4. So when I say I'm coming here every time I visit family back in Oxnard I'm serious lol. There's so many places that offer cheap tacos but they lack flavor and "love" these are definitely not those tacos. The only thing I didn't like about the place was that there is no salsa bar to pick your own, you have to tell them what you want with your order and they bring it out to you. The two days I went I found myself getting the spicy habanero salsa (sooo gooood) and it is spicy you definitely don't need a lot of it. Me and my bestie were sweating while we were eating lmao. Instead, you step through the main door to find a counter with a cash register and an employee busy doing things and not acknowledging you are there. I asked for two street tacos and a glass of water. The cashier gave me a glass with ice and charged me for the two tacos and added an additional bogus fee without letting me know. I asked if there was indoor seating and she pointed me towards the back. There was a 3' wide corridor to the back of the kitchen where there was outdoor seating on a dirt floor. I looked for a water fountain but could not find one so I went back to the front where the cashier pointed me to a water cooler near the cash register. The food came shortly after in an aluminum tray. Two street tacos with a side of onions, cut radish, a napkin, and red sauce on the side. I would not order take out at this place. I placed my order online and when I got there, I had to wait 20 minutes behind the walk up customers to get my food. I don't know any restaurant or store who does it this way. Pollo Norteno, Jersey Mikes,Target McDonald's all give priority or a separate line for online orders. If you want to survive in the online economy, you have to treat online orders with efficiency and courtesy. if you don't want to treat your takeout customers with efficiency and respect, don't offer the service.
