Ventura local here. This is easily the best Mexican food in Ventura. Sopes, tacos, nachos, birria, horchata. Literally everything I've ever gotten is fire.

Chili Verde Taco & 2 Al Pastor Tacos

Super quick and easy experience! We parked, ordered right away, and our food came out fast. The ambiance is really charming, and the back outdoor area is such a hidden gem....quiet, cute, and perfect for enjoying a meal. The food was delicious and super affordable for the portion sizes. The chili verde had a great kick, but the fish tacos totally stole the show. Light, crispy, and full of flavor. Definitely a great spot to sit down and enjoy a tasty, budget-friendly meal. Plenty of parking, though it can be a little tricky to get into the lot during rush hour. Will definitely be back!

"Tacos El Diablo is hands down my go-to spot for killer carnitas! I can't get enough of their gorditas, sope, and the nachos de carnitas of course-- every bite is packed with flavor. The vibes are chill, the portions are perfect, and it's the kind of place that makes you crave tacos all week long. Highly recommend if you love authentic, delicious Mexican eats!" Make sure you don't offer the quesadilla because, at this location they don't make it "tortilla de mano" its a regular flour tortilla... I was heart-broken about this! Please adjust your menu to reflect this our have the person taking the order say this... $15 for a quesadilla is not worth it... if it's a regular floor tortilla! By the way... I love the sweet girl with the colored eyes she has the best customer service! Thanks for being kind!

Best Tacos in Ventura -- Hands Down! Tacos El Diablo is the taco spot in Ventura. I've tried plenty of places, but nothing compares to the flavor and quality here. Their meat is incredibly tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. And don't even get me started on the salsas -- the red and habanero ones are absolutely to die for. Spicy, bold, and packed with flavor that takes everything to the next level. If you're a taco lover, this place is a must. Consistently amazing food and the kind of spot you keep coming back to. Five stars, no question!

Must go place if you are in Ventura,CA. One of the best Mexican food i had when i was visiting Ventura. Everything i ordered tasted great. I ordered quesabirrias, street tacos and quesadillas. They all were good portion and reasonable price. Will definitely come here back when i visit Ventura next

Yellow Sauce is the Habanero one

Little hole in a wall, you can easily miss it but if you do, you will miss some good seafood tacos, we had gotten two battered fish and shrimp tacos to keep it light. They were actually pretty big tacos, def worth your buck. Heads up if you get the Habanero Aioli or Habanero chipotle, I forgot what it was called but can't handle spice don't put it on, if you spicy- only a few drops, and love spicy- drench it. I forgot to taste it and poured it, mouth was burninglol

This is a big burrito for 10 dollars, the green chile is bomb to and there nachos are loaded and huge .

I love the Asada burrito and the fries are loaded. Also don't forget to get the chile especially the green one.

Was traveling through Ventura and stumbled upon this place. It tasted amazing and food came out in 3 minutes! Did not disappoint. Definitely coming back next time I'm in town

Tacos are still good. Great meat quality and flavor. Love that they come with grilled and pickled onions on the side. The salsas are good too. All 3 have a kick so be ready for that. My review is going down a bit from last time. I tried the birria gordita today and it was okay. The beans don't have much flavor and the gordita itself also lacked some flavor. Very little birria inside and you basically only get the meat at the bottom of the gordita. My husband had the asada burrito and said it was decent. He also thought the beans could have more flavor. Parking is still a problem given that it's on a major street. I ordered online so just had the husband jump out of the car to avoid having to find parking nearby. Overall, still a good option when craving tacos.

My marker of a good place to eat is usually on how busy they are. :) This recent visit I had a torta (my first, didn't catch the name) and it was outstanding! The meat was fresh and hot and the bun was flavorful! I did note that on my next visit here I want to try the Hawaiian (?) torta! Can't wait to be back! The service is always great each time. First, let me say I am not family to anyone that works at Spencer's although I am a long time customer. I'd like to point out how understanding my waitress was today, her name is Jackson. Kindly put these three were demanding and not very understanding of Jackson's time. The MANY times they asked for changes to the food, several other things they "asked" for Jackson kept her cool and quickly gave them what they requested. It was a solid grilled fish taco with not a ton of pomp and circumstance. Just unadulterated goodness. Fast forward to my recent visit - it didn't quite hit the same though I'm sure my palette has since evolved. The World Famous grilled fish taco ($7.95) was good, but was only made better with the in house sweet chili fire sauce. Of the things we ordered, I did really enjoy the ahicado ($13.75) which is ahi tuna mixed in lemon infused olive oil on top of avocado and served with wonton chips. I love a wonton chip situation and paired with the fresh ahi, it made for a perfect bite. The guy next to us ordered several Parmesan hard shell tacos ($5.50) so I did too (with shredded chicken). The flavorful chicken was perfectly shredded so you didn't get unmanageable hunks with each bite. These were unexpectedly very tasty. Highly recommend if you like a hard shell sitch. Judging from the lines at 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon, Spencer MaKenzie's is a Ventura institution even if I won't be thinking about the grilled fish tacos n-e-more. PSA: dining on the patio is the move even if you have to wait.

That recommendation turned into one of our favorite food experiences. These might be the best tacos we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The gentleman who greeted us, whom we believe was the owner, asked if it was our first visit and took the time to explain the dishes, the meats, and how they prepare everything. I love that kind of care. When I took my first bite, everything he described came to life--savory richness, umami, and bright, fresh flavors. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the thought behind each taco. And you must, must, MUST get the chips and salsa! The salsa alone blew our minds. Just enough char on the chilies, a little heat, and a bright citrusy flavor--everything was beautifully balanced. Every bite hit all the right notes. The interior is modern, with a stylish bar atmosphere, and the kitchen looked clean and well maintained. You can even watch the tortillas being made by hand. Those little details make the experience feel special. Every taco we ordered was amazing, but the chicharrón deserves its own spotlight. I'm Filipino, so chicharrón holds a special place in my heart, and this one exceeded my expectations. The flavor absolutely exploded--a party in my mouth. Some food just touches your soul, and this did. We ordered food to go for our son, who loves Mexican food, especially tacos. They even gave us a bag of complimentary, freshly made tortillas! I can't wait to make him chicharrón tacos at home. I have a feeling he'll be blown away, too. Absolutely worth the drive. We fell in love with this place and can't wait to come back. Thank you for the warm welcome and unforgettable food!

Hubby read about their Smash Burgers so we split one and the flavors with chipotle aioli were the bomb! For $17 you get a Smash Burger that feeds 2 and perfectly crispy thin fries fried in beef tallow. They even serve chipotle aioli with fries- Best!! I ordered the special White Sangria which Is so good I had to order on repeat. Since it was Happy Hour, we also ordered the grilled chicken tacos for $8. We both thought those were tasty as well and their avocado salsa verde is the just like the one I make at home. Ambiance is well curated with welcoming outside patio feeling very open and airy with organic Boho accents and wood features. The servers were efficient but very friendly. Ten Tigers is legitimately a 5 Star - will Recommend highly! Since this review, we re-visited on a Friday evening and ordered the same drinks and meal. I can confirm the consistent quality of the food. This Friday night was hopping with several groups celebrating Birthdays. We lucked out and found one of the last open tables. The servers were very busy and took a while to clear off and clean our table - not a big deal because their priority is serving the tables and getting the food and drinks out to the tables. There is a longer line at the counter to order just before Happy Hour ends at 6:00. Tip- plan your evening to arrive earlier. Ten Tigers is now on our repeat list in Ventura.

Oh and they always hook it up with the salsa, and their salsas and sauces are bomb! I have seen them extremely busy during peak hours and on weekends because there are many beach goers and tourists in the area, and because the Ventura Pier and San Buenaventura Beach are such popular places.
