Heard they have some good eats, had to stop and check out for myself. El Caporal did not disappoint. I had the ranchera steak plate and some tacos, it was delicious. My wife had the torta sandwich and she said it was so freaking good. We went inside Pj's for a cold beer and it was chill and relaxing. Great service inside and outside. Will be back again

Chicken Burrito. The roasted jalapeño was a nice touch along with the cucumber slices to cool things down.

This is my go-to place for tacos and burritos when I'm in Camarillo. I tell everyone I know to go here. There is no competition, they are the best!

Definitely one of the best tacos I have had. My brother and I ordered two of each tacos. Grilled onions and peppers on the sides were amazing. Meats full of flavors. The lady taking orders were wonderful.

Outside. It might look intimidating in the location but no worries. The food is worth it!

Don't be intimidated by the location or truck itself, it's worth it! Located on a side street the food truck is a jewel. Great food with a simple menu. Burritos, tacos or quesadilla with a choice of meet (skip your vegetarian cuisine). I had tacos and beans/rice. All meats and rice rocked, the El pastor was especially delicious. Friendly staff and a straight forward menu. Awesome.

Best taco truck I have ever been too in the city of Oxnard. The tacos have plenty of meat on them, which makes it worth paying $2 per taco. On top of that the service that they provide is perfect! They are attentive and try to be on top of anything a customer needs. Take both cash and credit card.

My tacos being made. And they were delicious!!

That fancy dinner that almost broke the pocket book not fill you up? Stop by this taco food truck. It's ok don't be scared only the freaks come out at night! Tacos $1.50 each Burrito $6 Quesidilla $6 Your choice of carne asada, al pastor, chicken, chorizo and tripas. Your order is taken at the front of the truck. Pick up at the back of the truck. Food is prepared pretty quick. I always take my tacos home and my tacos are never soggy! The grilled jalapeño served with the meal I love. I take a bite with each bite of my food. Spicy! The cool and refreshing cucumber slices are great when you have had too much of the green salsa. Hours: Sun-7p-11p Tues-Thurs 7p-11p Fri-Sat 7p-1a

    Asada tacos ($1.50 each)

Pros: Only late night "traditional" taco truck in Camarillo city limits (I believe) Accepts Credit Cards Decent Tacos Cons: $1.50 per taco (this is highway robbery in L.A. proper) Some of the meats disappointed I finally gave this place a shot and overall, it's good, but unfortunately, I've had better. Tripa - nicely crunchy, not rubbery at all. A+ Pastor - not on the spit that night and had no smoked or pineapple taste. Just tasted like marinated pork Asada - decently marinated, but a bit on the dry side Tacos came with a couple of peppers (which were good), but there's no condiment bar nor was I offered any. Overall, a decent spot if I have late night cravings, but nothing that blows me out of the water

I waited all my food truck life for this moment…read more.. I attended the Camarillo Ranch, Food Truck Event today. First day they had this since, COVID. The event was great. A lot of people! What was the problem? This food truck had about five people in line. All the other trucks had +20 in line. I thought I scored because, there was no line. Seriously, I was waiting for this precious foodie moment... The food was gross! Steak was like dinosaur meat thick and with fat. That baby THICK!!! I couldn't even chew it. I went to the shrimp and it was not made with love. The shrimp was over seasoned and it had the same seasoning as the rice! The veggies had no flavor and were thin and no flavor. I guess, I couldn't tell because I still had that yucky seasoning in my mouth. A true disappointment. Ya'll save your $30 and try another truck!

Such a great idea to have hibachi on a food truck!…read more Hands down food is always fire. Chef Palmer and his team do a wonderful job. I will say if you asked me to review this last year , I would of dropped the stars. There was 2 incidents I was not happy with, 1 was when the food truck was at the brewery. During this time, we had a female worker take our order, not sure if she was a gf of the chef at the time (from what transpired) or a worker. She was nice, no issue at all from her assisting us but we went inside the brewery to come back out 30 minutes later expecting our food to be close to being ready and the truck was closing up and ready to drive off. We had asked the cook, not sure of his name. He was very nice but we were disappointed, he had told us "he didn't have our order and wasn't aware we even placed one and asked for a receipt and who took our order." We explained what happened, and we could hear him and the female employee have a small disagreement about the order. We were refunded and were told it was a miscommunication. We were pretty upset at this point and chose not to come back for a while, we came back again 1 more time and again, had issues with service and food was not how it usually was. I will be honest, we took a few months of a break from visiting. Fast forward to now and recently since then (previous comment) we now come at least once or twice a month. It is our go to spot when we want a night of hibachi but don't get home till late from our sons soccer activities. The food truck being open late is perfect for those nights. Each and every time food has made up for the incident last year and has always been BOMB. The variety of the menu has expanded since it has opened, each and every item has been great. Our go to favorites are the steak and lobster combo plate, garlic noodles and the hibachi burrito or fries. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. We have been coming since the food truck first started and have loved to watch it grow and will continue to support these local 805 businesses who definitely deserve it. Highly recommended, if you see this food truck and the line is long ,I promise you it is worth it!

We stopped at Camarillo Outlets to try and kill time since our Air B&B is not ready until late afternoon. I looked to see if there are any Filipino food spots in the area and I found Lola Betty's. We ordered the short rib plate and the Tasilog plate and lumpia Shanghai- washed it down with Calamansi juice. Everything was delicious, 10/10. The owner came out to check on us and she was so kind, hospitable and shared some history with us on how Lola Betty's came to be. From food truck to walk up, she said that some people really preferred or hoped for a sit down restaurant. I don't have a preference. I only love the soul and passion that is poured into one's food. Love, soul and passion can be found here. The owner says, "I just really wanted a place where you can really be attentive and really take the time to cook the food the way it should be made". I can tell that she loves what she does and she thanked us for trying their food. I wanted to thank HER for feeding us! If I forgot to thank her, here it is. This place is worth a stop if you're smart.

The pricing is fair, portions are generous, and overall the food was good. As a fellow Filipino, I would love to see a little more variety on the menu since it currently focuses on the basics. From a business standpoint, especially considering the location and customer base, I understand keeping things simple. The only dish I wasn't a huge fan of was the Tapsilog, as the meat was a bit salty for my taste. The Longsilog was much better, and I loved that they included a small puto (rice cake) with the meal. Overall, a great experience and worth a visit.

When I first found this place I went out of my way to encourage the owner to advertise on Yelp…read more They used to not have a page on Yelp and their only source of advertising was local pages on Facebook. I wanted to tell people about it because I really enjoyed my food and their service was really homey and inviting. Everything from their free consommé to their delicious Sonora style combinations was very tasty. Fast forward to now, they now have a yelp page and the owner is doing a great job advertising her business on various platforms. The problem now, is that I strongly believe that their quality has gone down since they first opened. For any new restaurant to survive, they must not only serve good tasting food but, probably most importantly they need to hace consistency. Some of the things I feel have suffered is: Their free consommé, yes I get it it is free and I shouldn't complain but, come on, if you are givings your clients any food or drink it better represent your business well. The other things is the flavor of their meats. The pastor and asada have been tasting bland and flavorless. Guys please just take you time and do it right. Please don't cut corners when it leads to food taste and quality problems. Overall, I really hope they survive during the pandemic and I do hope that they heed my advice on the food that I gave them the last time I was there. They are really nice and hardworking people and I think if they just improve some things in their food truck, they can continue to succeed.

There is a parking lot that you can turn into. For about $28, we got four tacos (3 asada and 1 al pastor), an asada quesadilla, a volcan (crispy corn fried tortilla with pastor and cheese) and a caramelo (corn/flour tortilla with asada and cheese). The corn/flour tortillas were so tasty. I'm assuming they're made by hand. The pastor was good but not memorable. The asada was perfectly seasoned, tender and delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked medium- a lot of taco trucks I've tried overcook their meat and it becomes dry and loses flavor. My wife added the sautéed onions and green salsa to her plain tacos and it gave her that crunch that she was looking for to round out her meal. The best thing that I ate was the caramelo. It is must try if you like cheese. Staff was very friendly and they offered consommé for free with your food. We will definitely be back!
