Wow. This place was good. If you're on the go/hungry and happen to be nearby HD supply, swing by and get some tacos. They have choices of burritos, tacos or quesadillas. You can have your choice of Pastor, cabeza, asada, lengua, buche or chorizo. All accompanied with salsa, onions and cilantro and a roasted jalapeño if you ask for it. Made it super convenient to eat here while we took a break from tiling. We were on our working clothes but it's a food truck (super casual) and no one is judging. They're fast and they're nice. Minus one star for only accepting cash. Burritos/quesadillas $5 Tacos $1.50 (double tortilla) Roasted jalapeño $.25

    Best food cart ever!

By far the best Al Pastor I have ever had!! For years LaLoma has graced the bellies of many a hungry construction worker. This food cart is set up in the contractor where house parking lot and is the place for lunch! I have had pastor all over the states and in Mexico and nothing compares to LaLoma. They have it set up in the traditional way with stacked seasoned pork on a spit topped off on the ends with pineapple. They shave it off the spit as it rotates and throw it on the flat top for a char! Put it on some street corn tortillas with onion and cilantro and your in heaven! Wrap it in a corn tortilla with whole pinto beans and rice, onion and cilantro and your ready for a nap! They serve every order with some bagged up radish, lime, grilled onion and a grilled jalapeño. There's every meat choice you could want and you can get it in taco, burrito or quesadilla depending on how you feel! Do a solid and make a stop for some delicious food at a very real street food price!!

One al pastor and one cabeza taco, served hot. Added sides include fresh radishes, limes and searing hot chile pepper/onion escabeche.

La Loma is a seemingly permanent taco trailer in the parking lot of HD Supply. They serve both tacos and burritos. I recommend the tacos. Meat choices include al pastor, fresh off the spit and grilled, cabeza (Stewed beef cheek in English), asada (grilled beef steak), lengua (grilled beef tongue), buche (prepared and grilled pork stomach), or Chorizo (spiced and grilled sausage). The tacos are served on paper plates, con todo "with everything" which at La Loma means that the hot fresh grilled tacos are dressed with a mix of fresh raw onions and cilantro and doused in medium-hot salsa roja (red salsa). Hot, fresh, steaming and delicious meat with a fresh kick of chile. The available free condiments and sides are fresh radishes and limes and a nice escabeche which in this case is onions and peppers quick pickled in a *very spicy* chile/lime/vinegar blend. Honestly, although most of the onions are hot but not too hot. I took a big bite of something which blew out my tastebuds for a good 10-15 minutes, which included chugging cold whole milk out of the fridge at one point, along with the usual crying and pandemonium. I fear I may be able to tell a second story about this bite of chile/onions after my morning coffee tomorrow, but that comes with the territory. As of 10/16/15 the generously proportioned tacos are $1.50. Cash only, 5 stars as this place deserves to be on the radar of the yelp community.

Best street taco around, full of soft flavorful marinated meats, and salsa full of kick!

This bright blue food truck has always caught my eye and I finally made it in for lunch. Being a food truck, the vibes are super casual and laid back. You place your order, then grab a seat at one of their picnic benches and soak up the sunshine. The staff were incredibly nice, and the sweet little touches like the handwritten note on the to go bag were just too cute. We love those kinds of vibes! Here's what I got: Single Smash Burger: A solid and delicious smash burger! The bun was pillowy soft, the patty had a nice crust, and I'm always a sucker for cheese, thin sliced lettuce, and a thousand island style sauce on a burger. No frills, just super satisfying and done right. Cosmo Fries: Honestly my favorite bite of the day! Loaded fries topped with cheese, onions, burger patty, and their pink sauce...absolutely insane. SO good. I loved the skinny fries they use, and since everything was made fresh to order, the fries stayed extra crispy even with all the toppings. My biggest regret is passing by this food truck for so long without stopping. That was genuinely a stellar smash burger and fries combo, with the added bonus of such friendly and welcoming staff. Next time you're walking around Downtown Ventura and want a casual outdoor bite, definitely make a stop at Cosmos Smash Burgers. (Located at the Channel Islands Juice Co. parking lot just fyi).

They were parked at a brewery so I would've understood if they opened later, it's just always such a bummer when I'm looking for some new lunch spots. The owners of the truck (I'm guessing they owned it at least), a lovely woman taking orders & a gentleman making the food. They were both SO nice, and let me tell you, a smile goes a long way people. They both genuinely looked so happy to be there, which really just brightened my day. This was by far the cleanest food truck I've ever seen. No I didn't actually jump on up there, but from what I could see, it was spotless. Sparkling even. Falafel is such a difficult dish to make right, I often find myself extremely disappointed. I took a chance and I'm SO happy I did! They were super crispy on the outside but light and airy on the inside. Amazing flavor. I also loved the shape!! Like cutie little chickpea donuts Keep in mind this is a Syrian inspired truck, so Middle Eastern flavors, not Mediterranean. I say that because I'm so used to seeing Greek joints cook up falafel. This was different and I really really enjoyed it. Everything from the sides to the sauces were so delicious. Spot on. Can't wait to be back!

We probably wouldn't have dropped by it if someone hadn't told us about it. The staff was kind, friendly, and gave suggestions when we asked questions about the various meat options. The cash register is right straight in as you walk in. There are communal benches outside and a few high top tables inside, but the restaurant seemed to get a lot of pick up orders. Food came out within 5 minutes on a Saturday at lunch, which I was weary about since it's BBQ - but everything ended up still being hot and juicy. We ended up going with the 3-meat plate for about $30 total. It was enough for 2 people (or 1 really hungry person!). We ordered the brisket, burnt ends, and hot links which came with garlic bread and two sides of our choice - the star of the show was for sure the burnt ends, which were juicy and deeply flavorful. The brisket was moist, which I feel like is hard to find, but I do wish it had more flavor. The hot links were also good but didn't have much nuance either. Next time, we'll definitely save room to try some dessert, which was only $5! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!
