BUT... if you're looking for a nice dine-in experience go elsewhere. Taco Deli has all the ambience of a Walmart parking lot. Green, yellow and red lawn chairs, white boring walls, nondescript concrete floors, grey and black tile (yeah grey), and really horrible "Night at the Roxbury" dance music blaring. Worst of all, there's no alcohol service! (What's a taco without a beer?) For some reason they seem to only be open hours when I'm not hungry, (they closed at 3pm, on a Saturday, during my visit). What sets this place apart is the pork belly tacos, Delibelly! They have that on certain days of the week, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Luckily we came on a Saturday since it was the taco my brother loves and talks about. Delibelly is good. Has a slight sweet sauce on it. Reminds me of the hoisin sauce on a pork belly bao in an Asian restaurant. The onion is raw and strong. I would prefer grilled onion. It was a little over powering. I love avocados, but the creaminess masked the flavor of the pork belly a little. It was still the best tasting taco I had here and would definitely eat it again. My brother loves it so much, he ordered another after he finished his two tacos. And we were very full already! My second go to tacos are shrimp tacos. So I tried theirs. It was okay.... lacked in flavor, very plain. Would not get it again. The sauce made up for it though. I added their signature creamy green hot sauce. Which is so frickin' delicious! I can use it to dip my chips in, which I did. It had a kick and was flavorful. Love that they also have habanero sauce too. I like a little extra kick. And I just absolutely love the fact that they placed the sauce pumps at the bar for patrons to help themselves. You don't have to ask them for little tiny packages or anything. You just grab as much as you want. (I am quite obsessed with sauces) Roberto's brazo fuerte queso- eh.... not great. Too much added stuff that didn't compliment the queso. I would have preferred the original plain queso. The chips. Not sure if it's fresh. It came in a plastic sealed bag. So not really impressed there. Atmosphere - relaxed and laid back. Stand in line to order, sit down, they'll bring you your food when it's ready. Decor was pleasing and not bold in-your-face type. I like that they have a completely separate line for to go orders on the other side of their bar. I don't feel like I'm cutting in front of customers waiting to order just to pay for my to go order if I was running in and out. The workers are very helpful and pleasant. Ive been there three times and enjoyed the first couple times I went, however the last time I went in it was disappointing. I didn't care for the lukewarm refried beans plopped on top of the lukewarm rice. Visually unappealing like someone barfed or worse. Only one tortilla holding the lukewarm meat in the tacos so of course they fell apart before you could eat them, they should use two tortillas. They also charge extra for chips and salsa. It just seems like a lot of stinginess going on for their price points which aren't cheap. I will say the staff was friendly and nice but that may not be enough to draw me back there. read more

I got: The Chips and Guac- super lime-y guacamole which I love and good corn tortillas chips prepackaged in a bag - love it! The Heather taco- grilled queso fresco, refried black beans, guac, lettuce, tomato. I thoroughly enjoyed this- especially with their hot sauces on top, mmm. My only critique would be for the lettuce to be shredded instead of chopped and the tomatoes cut smaller too. Still a great taco though! A breakfast taco- I customized it to have sautéed spinach, mashed potato, pico de gallo, and avocado. Delicious! My friend got some good lookin tacos too and the pozole looked very good too. We both really really enjoyed our meals and the hot sauces they offered. I got a spinach salad to go not realizing it came with bacon on it and they were happy to make a new one for me even though that was my fault. See what I said - awesome service. My first mistake was coming here famished lol I truly didn't need all of the food that I bought but I can get down with left overs. The prices are a little on the high side, but this is typical for Sylvan-Thirty (the location). Honestly, the service is super good. The people are so nice, the servers always ask how we are doing, everyone acts like they have the same level of investment as the owner. When I order chips and queso, the chips always seem to run out about 1/3 to 1/2 way into the queso, but they always spot me additional bags of chips. Organic Chicken! I enjoy eating at taco deli, especially their taco deli salad with chicken. It is loaded with sour cream, cheese, Romain lettuce, organic chicken, avocado, onions, and tomatoe. You can definitely add or remove anything that you may or may not like and there is a salsa bar for you to add a little kick. I really like that they have Maine Root soda. My favorite is the Mexican cola which is made with real cane sugar. Tacodeli has an assortment of tacos and salads and one of the best things is that they offer organic. The seating area is inside and outdoor patios, which makes it great since this place tends to be a little bit busy during lunch. Oak Lawn Coffee (RIP) used to cater these, and I would always get the Jess special (migas, avocado, and cheese) with a boatload of their signature salsa- salsa Doña. I could drink that stuff. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the taste of the same taco at the actual restaurant. They taste better rolled up in foil, lukewarm, with melted cheese. This write up is for my breakfast. While my experience in Austin was 5* this location in Dallas is close to 5*, but not close enough. The space is fairly cool, a bit too industrial for my taste. The seating is mostly on hard plastic or wood (chairs, bench and bar stool height seats). The breakfast tacos I selected were the Otto, Migas and the Frontera Fundido. The Migas was my least favorite (not bad just a bit boring) while the Otto was my favorite (refried black beans and bacon are such a wonderful pairing). The Frontera Fundido was very good with the steak perfectly tender and onion and peppers perfectly cooked. But maybe a spoonful of egg makes it perfect? Man it was good though. And their sauces! The Salsa Doña and Habanero are awesome accompaniments. All in all a great visit, far better than my pervious days visit to Torchy's (meh at best). read more

I didn't like that they don't post their prices until you're up at the register. The shrimp taco was super fishy in a bad way. I was scared to finish it. The corn esquites were really bad. They didn't have any flavor. No lime or chili flavor although it had some red stuff and bland cheese. No mayo or sour cream either on the corn. I have heard people rave about Tacodeli in Dallas and Austin, so I wanted to give it a try. I have previously had a few of their breakfast tacos from various coffee shops, which I was not overly impressed with, and unfortunately (for me because I love tacos) lunch at their restaurant was about average. I ordered the brazo queso fuerte which came with meat, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The queso was good but overly salty. I was surprised that the accompanying chips were served in a sealed bag. I prefer lighter, fresher chips. The guacamole in the queso was too lime-y which is surprising because I love lime. For tacos, I tried the Tacoloco with brisket, caramelized onions, mushrooms, guacamole, and queso freso as well as the El Conquistador with pork, avocado, onion, and cilantro. I preferred the Tacoloco of the two. The pork and brisket were far too salty for me. I did love their creamy green house hot sauce though. That was delicious. I couldn't believe how affordable the tacos were, because I paid for both me and my friend and it was under $5.00 for both of us to get tacos. The service is really fast and they were pretty busy for it being a Saturday morning, so I was impressed with how quickly they moved customers through the line. They also have a great little salsa bar on the side and I definitely recommend their salsa roja. I think this will be a regular stop when I am in this area or at Pink Pedi! I was excited about the Puerco taco but the Pollo was much better. The pork was good but I was expecting more with the Puerco sauce. DANGGGG!!!! Taco Deli has really brought the taco standard quality of a normal taco to a new and higher level. The original location began in Austin and slowly migrated to Dallas. My sister usually stops by the Austin location everytime she heads home to Dallas. Move over all gas station and Fuel City Taco joints, theres a new TACO HOT SPOT in town!!!! I ordered the Jess special and steak/egg taco which was soooo good. I could immediately tell how fresh the ingredients used to make the taco and it was tasted to perfection. The size of the taco was a bit larger compared to the typical gas station taco which makes it a great deal at an affordable price. The menu provided a variety of options which resulted with how difficult it was to making my decision on ONLY the breakfast options. The salsa is probably the reason why I shall be returning every week and the taste ties the whole taco together. I also got a chance to taste the potato/egg/cheese taco and STRONGLY recommend EVERYONE to try this option. The potato resembled gravy and Im a huge fan of gravy (white or brown).You will NOT regret it if you choose this taco option. Overall: I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE Taco Deli. I dont think I could say anything negative about the place except for how they need bigger salsa cups so we can DRENCH OUR TACO with more salsa. Jk!
