    Papadulce Pollo Fantastico

This place always hits. I got a papadulce (my fav) and a pollo fantástico, both were great! I also got a mix of the lemonade and sandia Fresca, it was delicious! Service was great as always, and I enjoyed sitting on their outdoor patio at sunset. A classic and reliable place!

It has been a while since I've been to Tacodeli. Today, I decided to give it a whirl. You have a choice between premade tacos and ones custom ordered. Of course, I thought I would try a custom taco of potato, avocado and sausage. The taco was was made with a running mashed potato mixture which made all the ingredients fall out of the taco shell. It had to be worst taco I've eaten in a very long time. Growing up in San Antonio where tacos are supreme, this was a very disappointing taco experience. Likely will not be returning to Tacodeli any time soon...

Ordered To-go and had everything except my iced coffee ready to go. Sometimes I prefer to have my drinks prepared before I arrive due to having issues with not receiving the drinks, but they remembered thankfully! I feel the prices are a little steep.. a bean and cheese taco is $4.20! I added a medium side of beans ($3.55) and a side of cheese ($1.80) for about the same cost of one taco so I can make more at home instead of paying $4.20 for each individual taco. I mean come on.. $1.80 for a small container of cheese?! The beans and cheese taco was great - love black refried beans The Mexico City chicken taco was ok - the chicken was rubbery (the way it gets when you freeze it and thaw it sometimes) The queso is amazing! - not like the fake cheesy stuff you get at taco cabana The chips were pre-bagged and I actually love that because it ensures freshness and allows us to enjoy them longer. No more stale chips! Id say 4/5 but most likely will not be ordering so much again due to the price and quality of food.

Well, I am a fan of Tacodeli but this was an off day. I picked up 3 Frontera fundido chicken tacos for dinner. They were super salty and inedible. I ended up junking all of them.

Food was great. My son who is currently in hospital around the corner asked for bean and cheese tacos so I had to oblige. It's the only thing he's wanted to eat in 4 days. I ordered online for store pickup and it was smooth. Got to the Rosedale location and the person handling the food was very personable and engaging! Thanks for making an anxious time a little less overwhelming.

Came here the day after X-Mas. Last visited: Dec' 23. Ordered: - CHILE EN NOGADA -- Special for X-mas. Pork with pomegranate seeds. Choice with whole wheat taco (healthy option). - COWBOY -- Beef. Choice on corn tortilla (healthy option, gluten free) And a cup for water. Enjoyed the CHILE EN NOGADA taco more. Pomegranate is one of my favorites. Ground pork went will with it too. COWBOY was ok, but steak pieces not to my liking. It was passable. Overall, decent food here especially when running on empty stomach after a short hike. Will rate 3.5/5 stars, and further it was great they are open on the 26th which is holiday for most spots.

Stopped by the Tacodeli location on Lamar when the area recently at dinner time. We've moved out of the city, so it's a treat we don't enjoy often. We've been huge fans of Tacodeli for years. The tacos and queso are OUTSTANDING! IMHO... LOL The ingredients are always fresh, the salsas are very good as well. The Lamar location has plenty of outdoor seating too, to be enjoyed almost year-round here. So glad they've expanded their hours to cover dinner as well! Highly recommend Tacodeli any time of day!

And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. Won't be back.

The fill ratio was correct: I was able to hold it closed without really squeezing, and better, nothing was soggy to weaken the very lightly warmed tortilla. But I wanted a higher salt level in the eggs and steak, and some crisp on both proteins would've improved texture balance. It's pretty solid. I think my mom would give it a 5. I had only stopped by this Food Truck (area) to try Desnudo Coffee, and spotted this business. I had heard some good things about Veracruz, but I was planning lunch elsewhere. Well, that other spot was CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS! Seeing my situation, I saw it as opportunity to try the options at Veracruz --- including the famous from Food Network, migas taco. I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul. TIP: They will ask corn or flour --- do flour. Everything is handmade, but those corn tortillas fall apart with all the sauce. Flour = durable and flavorful. I had plans, but the Universe had other plans for me that were superior.
