Very simple and similar to a chain-restaurant back home. Food was very good. Had the chorizo and shrimp enchiladas and the were outstanding- just don't order them spicy unless you really like spice. We came here after enjoying the mall, on our last full day in Cancun. We contemplated going to the Brazilian steakhouse but we ended up here and it was very good. We visited the shopping mall La Isla and found this restaurant near the water. It was right next to La Parilla where we ate two years ago. The vibe is very friendly and laid back. But laid back does not mean inattentive service. We seated ourselves by the water and immediately a waiter appeared. The drink menu is large but he guided us through the mezcals, which the wife ultimately settled upon while I a traditional lime-based margarita. I had a grande which in retrospect is not the right choice because it is very large and by the time you get to the end the ice has melted and the flavor is watered down. Note for next time. You get free chips and salsas to start. There were three different colors of tortilla chips and they were not greasy at all. The salsas go from mango, which is sweet, to red which is spicy but not incendiary, to Serrano which is incendiary. The wife loved the red while the kid and I liked the mango. The Serrano was too hot for us. The menu is huge so it took a while for us to digest it all (no pun intended). We started with shrimp ceviche and it was good but not the best I have had. The shrimp were a bit tough and there were no jalapeños in the pico. It was still good but not outstanding. For entrees, the kid had chicken tenders and they were outstanding. The batter was light and not greasy. The chicken was tender and moist. The fries were crispy. She ate almost everything. The wife had some kind of shrimp dish with garlic sauce and it was exceptionally good. The flavors were intense but not too spicy. She loved it. The shrimp were fresh and did not taste fishy. I had Burria tacos with beef which I never had before. By this point I was already full so I could not eat the 8 quarters. There was a great broth for dipping. The beef seemed like it was brisket or oxtail, it was not ground beef. I really liked the tacos and although I have nothing to compare them to, they seemed really well done. We had churros for dessert and they were very different than what we get in Dallas. These were thinner and denser. You get two dipping sauces, caramel and chocolate. We finished them off and said we would not eat the next day as we waddled out of the restaurant. Our servers were friendly and helpful. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. We had a beautiful view of the sunset and many people were on the pier taking pictures. Overall, it was a really fun experience with great food and service. Next time in Cancun we are returning for sure. read more

Warning to Black Travelers My husband and I (Black Americans) were ignored repeatedly by servers at Taco Tequila in Plaza La Isla, Cancún during a birthday dinner attempt. Staff walked past us many times and never took our order while assisting others who arrived later. We left without being served. For dinner I had skirt steak fajitas and my husband ate CAMARONES ICH-AJU. All the plates were delicious. Our dinner plates were good size portions that we could not finish. Once again, another great restaurant we found in Cancun. The food look good on the pictures from Europe and let me tell you what they absolutely delivered. Food: we got a mix of tacos. If you can see from the picture and let me tell you what every single one of the tacos were top-notch an absolutely amazing. Being from Houston Texas, I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to Tacos and let me tell you what these people understand how to make a great taco. Literally, every single taco was amazing. We had an assortment of fajitas, steak, pork, fish, shrimp, you name it, and they were all absolutely amazing. The white cheese they use is absolutely the best. The service is really good as well. We dined here on our first night of vacation as a group of five adults and two children. We chose to sit inside for the air conditioning rather than on the waterfront side. The service was decent, though the food took longer to arrive than expected, especially considering we were the only party in the restaurant at the time. While we did enjoy our meals, the overall experience wasn't compelling enough for us to return. Amazing find in Cancun! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Westin Lagunamar across from the La Isla Cancun Shopping Village and decided to venture out of the hotel for a dinner two nights ago, so happy we did and that we found this spot. Service: Amazing, our waiter Danny who we called "Danny Boy" was incredibly attentive and pleasant. He really made sure we were taken care of! Thank you Danny! F&B: We ordered one of the taco platters so we could taste test the various tacos: chicken, beef, seafood, we had it all! The chips, guac, salsas were all great and the skinny margaritas were awesome. Vibe: There is such a fun vibe here. There was live music where two musicians played 'La Bamba" and entertained guests. This location is right by the water too which is great. Covid safe: Staff all wore masks, sanitized on tables in front of us and took all necessary precautions. We felt very safe and welcomed. The resort i was staying in didnt have tacos, so i had to venture out to find them, and i stumbled upon taco y tequila. The vibe here was awesome!! They had a live band who played music, the tortillas were being freshly made by a woman in the window, the meat was on spits on view as well, and they gave us a coupon for a buy one get one margarita! Score!! It was also by the water so the view was outstanding! This place is located in the la isla mall in Cancun, and i had a wonderful time. Our server Danny boy was amazing! Very attentive, he explained everything perfectly and had this energy that was infectious. The drinks were sooooo good and soooo strong! They also was so cheap (i came here with 2 others and the entire meal was $54 American dollars. That was 6 margaritas, two orders of tacos, and my other friend ordered something else. I was shocked! It was a little spicy, but i didn't mind that too much. It didn't take away from the flavor of the meat and the freshly made to order tortillas.
