We ordered to go and got the party platter of carne asada, chicken and pastor. Pastor is by far the best, asada was good and the chicken was ok. What makes it is the hot sauce, absolutely fantastic and the guac sauce. We order 3 party platters and they had it ready within 30 minutes, service was very quick. The whole place looked so fun to eat it we were kind of bummed we ordered it togo but will plan on coming in next time. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, this place SLAPS! One of the best taco spots I've ever been to. Went with some friends and we tried a lot of the food. The steak fries were great to snack on. The tacos were all fantastic. The only complaint was one person didn't care that much for the mushroom taco, that it was bland and a bit boring compared to all the others. The tacos, the mula, the mini-quesadillas... all the items we tried were pretty damn good. Ambiance was ok, kinda like 5-guys. Service was OK, weird system where you place an order and then its your job to hand the order to the line chef. This place is s-tier and I'll be bringing friends and family here for sure. A small notch ahead of other great taco spots like Taco Boys and Chiwas. read more

Stopped here on my way home from work, ordered it to go through the website and it was ready fast! Pickup was easy! This place is really cute, I love the setup. They have a cool little salsa bar too. I love that they have a good vegetarian option! I got the mushroom taco and Mula, and chips and queso. My total was $14 and I had leftovers so definitely fair pricing. It was spicier than expected but really flavorful and good! I tried the taco with a corn tortilla and flour for the Mula, both were delish. The salsas at the salsa bar tasted really fresh. Staff was nice too. Would for sure get a meal from here again! read more

Went to try out Taco Viva as its very popular. Had two al pastor tacos and two chicken tostadas. Tacos are $3.95 each and tostada was $5.95 each. Both were fine. Not the best but no complaints. Also had horchata which was also good. Place is very big and has like a taco food assembly going on. Seems a bit like of an industrial taco place that is traditional. Very large dining area and lots of seating options inside and out. Later the line got very long and went out the door. Wound up spending a bit more than Id like to. Overall I do like the place but maybe a little overrated? read more

Best salsas, best pastor, best tacos, best service, best ambiance, best everything. This place is a winner.

This place is so fricken good. I've eaten here at least six times in the last month and it's been great every time. THIS IS THE BEST TACO IN TOWN! Forget Chiwas, Taco Boys, and Huicho (although Huicho is in 2nd place). First and foremost, the tortilla is FRESH. It's being made in front of you - CORN OR FLOUR! Then the meat is freshly made, juicy and perfectly seasoned. Finally, the tacero assembles this goodness with the right toppings - avocado, onion, cilantro and salsa, all optional or "con todo." Their jamaica is good too. This is the best taco in town, at least for now. read more

Taco Viva - Pastor tostada and pastor taco - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Que muy deliciosa!!! Love their tacos, vampiros and mulas! One of my favorite places when visiting the Phoenix area.

The gentleman who was the cashier was extremely helpful, polite, and pleasant. He made sure we felt welcomed. Great Job. The food we purchased included Pastor tacos, Pastor fries, Carne Asada tacos and mulas, Chicken, Mushroom Tacos also. Horchata and Jamaica aguas frescas were ordered as well. Overall the food was very good, The Pastor fries and Mushroom tacos stood out above the rest. Extremely delicious, especially the Mushroom tacos were extremely, extremely good. Which I did not expect. Horchata and Jamaica water was amazing. The only downsides in all honesty was the price, felt a bit pricy at almost $4 a taco but they are big tacos. The aguas frescas also could have come in a larger size but that's more of a compliment than anything. Thanks. read more

Glad we got here early because Taco Viva is a hot spot for lunch! I got the carne asada & the pork al pastor both con todo. I love that they put some sweet pineapple on the pastor, which was a nice balance between spicy and sweet. Their hot sauce has some good kick to it too! Will definitely be back. read more

After seeing Taco Viva featured on multiple food bloggers' social media accounts, we decided to stop in while we were in downtown Phoenix. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a large menu wall where we made our choices before heading to the counter to place our orders. We were glad to see they were busy on a Friday night but also glad that we didn't have to wait. We both ordered tacos, which were seriously filling and delicious! I opted to add 'everything' on mine, which included onion, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole. We were disappointed to hear they were out of the El Pastor (spicy pork) that we both wanted to try, but we will definitely return!! read more

Tacos were pretty good, the quesadillas were good too. Prices are high but they do give you a good amount of meat. They also have a good selection of salsas. I would definitely try again. read more

Ill start with the positive. The place was clean, they serve pastor from the spit. Now, the negative....a huge, sterile cafeteria, serving $4 tacos whose entirire "salsa bar" consists of three runny salsas and a few lime wedges., No cabbage, no carrots, no nothing else. They advertise "CON TODO" like they are hugely proud (onion, cilantro, saldsa, and guac) so I order it that way from the cashier. They ask me once again after I produce ny receipt for preparation, "....con TODO??" YES, like the receipt says. What I got for $8 plus was two very skimpy tacos covered in what can only be described as mayonnaise-based white jizz. Seriously, who advertizes guacamole than smothers their MEAT tacos in this white puke? When I picked up my tacos, the cook said thanks, to which I replied thanks.....but he did not hear me so he yelled after me "...YOU ARE WELCOME!" I find this a hopelessly a gringo hipster taco joint who puts "crema" on their pastor and asada when they advertise guacamole. If you want incredible authentic tacos from a family run place, do yourself a BIG favor and go to Tacos Sahuaro just a couple miles away, and thank me later. read more

If you are tired of your local taco shop due to their lack of quality, freshness & attitude. Taco Viva will change all that with their quality of ingredients, freshness of order & their open kitchen where every order is customized in front of you not in a hidden unseen kitchen. Enjoy! read more

We drive 40min to come eat here and I've sent a few people to come try this place. Today the guy got confused when I told him what I wanted on my tacos and he rolled his eyes so he seemed bothered which is not my fault this is the process they have when it comes to getting what you want on your food. I noticed the tortillas weren't yellow which I've had the yellow tortillas here and is also on their website so I asked him if they no longer had the yellow tortillas and he asked his manager Rigo who was rude and said no and said they never had them so I showed them pictures that they did so that really upset me because they made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. I went to talk to Rigo after and his sassy ass was rude and said I was rude to his worker which I wasn't he had a hard time understanding. He also said they use to have the yellow tortillas. I was upset because it was a waste of money and drive. The body language was not okay. I speak Spanish but didn't want to offend his worker if I started to speak Spanish and made him feel some type of way. I love yellow tortillas on pastor tacos and I was so happy we found a place to enjoy but guess not anymore. read more

Taco Viva is delicious. Probably the best Al Pastor tacos I've ever had, which in Phoenix is saying a lot. Even if that was the end of this review, they'd come highly recommended! But that's not why I'm writing this review. Today I made a pretty silly mistake. I ordered online to grab lunch before a business meeting and because I was busy didn't think to check the time that my order would be ready before heading over. Taco Viva can be pretty packed at lunch time (rightfully so) and I totally spaced and didn't realize my order was scheduled to take 40 minutes before it was ready. I showed up after 10. The server at the takeout window was surprised and let me know I was there 30 minutes early. He probably realized from the expression on my face that I was beginning to do panicked calculations in my head for whether or not I'd even be able to get my food in time to make my meeting. He moved my order forward and they managed to get it to me in less than ten. He really didn't have to do that, it was 100 percent my fault for not paying attention, and I was ready to own my mistake and try to call in to the meeting from the parking lot. But because he did I managed to get my food and make it to my meeting with plenty of time. The fact that they were willing to cover for my mistake (without me asking) really made my day. Thank you! read more

These tacos were fantastic, I love the al pastor. I also was smart enough to get the mulas (which I've normally heard referred to as mulitas). The asada was also great, but I definitely prefer al pastor. They add a generous amount of meat and their toppings were pretty good. The people working there were the best, they weren't busy so we had a great conversation. I loved the music playing in the background, I really felt at home because they played all the song my parents played. Definitely the best tacos in the area. read more

So far this is the best taco place in Phoenix area! The prices are good for the portion they load up the taco with meat. Everything is freshly made and service is very fast.

My new favorite taco shop? I can't stop talking about this place! The tacos are so tasty that I'm thinking about them hours after eating them and wondering if I should just go back for dinner. I love the carne asada and al pastor. Bigger than street tacos, and loaded with meat, then topped with whatever you choose, they legit hit the spot. The prices are so fair, everything under $4! I hear the tortillas are hand made on site along with the guac and salsas. I've been three times so far and each time I feel so welcome. Everyone has been very friendly. Definitely go! read more

A gem! The vampiros alone are worth a drive. Friendly people, fast service, great food, and reasonable prices make Taco Viva a winner!

Should be ten stars. Finally a great taco place that's not a tiny whole in the wall. Don't let the new building fool you, this place is authentic! Also, stay if there is a long line, it moves quick, just get in line and be ready to say "con todo"! One of the best bargains is the swag. Cheaper than any other hat out there. read more

My bf and I tried this place for the first time, we ordered carne asada tacos which were delicious. Their corn tortillas are hand made and they are soft and warm. I also had a mango desert with chamoy so refreshing and tasty! The workers are so nice they greet you upon entering and they acknowledge when you walk out! Everyone is so friendly! We drove from Tucson to Phoenix just for these tacos our first time was July 27,2024 we then drove back on a Wednesday 07/31/24 night for dinner, all for these tacos! We then decided we needed to go back 8/10/24 . The consistency of this place is remarkable! The taste of the tacos were consistent! Walking in, it's a very lively and bright/clean place. The menu will be the first thing you notice on your right! Everything was quick and I loved seeing the pastor roasting and I can see everyone's working hard :) I can really see it through the food. The Pastor Fries was everything (must get) , I love that Taco Vivas topped it with pineapple slices, fries were perfection, and pastor was super delicious. Can I give 5+ stars? We were greeted so warmly by the cashier. The restaurant was so clean, even though they were in the middle of weekend lunch rush. SHEEESSSSH! These tacos are some of the best I've had, rivaling tacos El gordo in San Diego near the border. Got greeted right when we walked in, which was nice. Their layout was also pretty cool. I loved how their napkin holders had CON TODO on everything. Really nice. Their asada was not only moist, but you could taste the kiss of fire. Their tortillas are top notch. And their Al pastor was actually juicy. Excellent work here fellas. I wish I didn't live so far away (in California) because damn, I'd get nearly every day. read more
