This was my first taco time experience after living in Seattle for 10 years. All I can say is, it fully exceeded the hype! The soft beef taco and the soft fish taco are perfection. Taco meat has no "Mexican" flavor whatsoever, instead has an after taste of "Oregano" [or some mix of "fine herbs" NOT related to taco seasoning]. Meaning, that the meat has very little Mexican flavor, if any at all. I emailed directly to the Taco Time NW guest relations several weeks ago about a previous negative experience, all service related. I had witnessed a customer leaving, after ordering nothing, and he was extremely frustrated about having to use the kiosk, as no one would come to the counter. I received a very nice note back that it was being addressed, and someone should always be available. That DID NOT get fixed. While I have no issue with ordering thru a kiosk or thru a mobile, what I do have an issue is a genuine lack of customer hospitality. There were at least 4 employees working, but they were all in the prep/kitchen/to go window area. No one could find the time to simply say hi. I rang in my order at 11:37, the POS stated it would be ready by 11:48. 11 minutes? An employee came out to the lobby at 11:41 with my order. Hmmm? The food is generally excellent, and worth the higher price that things have risen to, but today my tater fries were extremely salty. I have never seen that. The big issue is that twice in a row I have not a wow experience at this Taco Time. The staff looks different than in the past, so I am not sure what is happening, but it is not good. Taco Time is great! In case you aren't familiar with this chain, it is kind of like an upscale Taco Bell with high quality, fresh food. It is also a family owned company that was started in the Pacific Northwest, which is neat. We usually like dining in, but of course you can't do this at many places right now because of COVID. However, the drive-thru is open. There was nobody else in line, so we didn't have to wait very long at all. At my last visit, I ordered Combo #3: a soft taco (with choice of meat), mexi-fries (tater tots), and a medium drink (which is huge). They have Coke and Diet Dr Pepper (which apparently is rare). I chose a chicken taco, which was pretty filling and the mexi-fries were crispy and delicious! I also used to like ordering the Taco Salad with Chicken (which is a bit lower in calories), although that might be difficult to eat in a car! We only live 3 miles away, but the meat was cold, as if the whole thing came out of a refrigerator. Also there was a lot of liquid in the salads. When I moved to West Seattle was the first time I had Taco Time and I am hooked, on this location at least! My experience here was very good! The customer service is always awesome here and I am able to get through the drive thru very quickly. The staff also follows all COVID-19 protocol, making for a safer experience. They always get me my food fast, and it always taste great. I really like their classic burrito, soft taco, and natural soft taco. The sauce options on the side that they have also taste great. It tastes way better than other fast food taco competitors in my opinion. I highly recommend Taco Time and definitely this location. read more

Long time Taco Time customer at many locations in the PNW. I haven't been to this TT in quite a while esp due to the WS bridge closing. This West Seattle location is a disaster. I stopped on my way home from a work trip to Ballard, looking forward to a nice soft taco, bean burrito. My favs. I hadn't gotten to the front door when a person outside said to me don't waste your time. 30 minute plus wait inside. So I go in anyway, then seeing 4 angry customers all frustrated that their orders were in forever coming. Then I noticed walk in customers order at a screen on the counter, and NO, 0, people at the order counter. Oh well, I walked out an drove to Trader Joe's for some to go food and my attitude quickly improved with TJs workers, they're so nice. TT in west Seattle junction is dead. Not going back. Still slow, forgetful service. Don't know why I still go here. 9/10 times the order is wrong even though I only ordered 1 or 2 things straight off the menu (not a large order or any substitutions). Don't bother emailing the address at the bottom of the receipt.. they either take months to get back to you or reply promptly but they just offer a gift card. I seriously don't understand how people can screw up an order so often. I ordered chips and salsa but got the small bag of chips that comes with an entree and they forgot the salsa. It's like $3 and you get 8 chips. I have ordered nachos and didn't get any guacamole or sour cream which comes with. I've ordered 2 nacho entrees and only gotten one guacamole and sour cream. I asked for hot sauce (which they ration now) and didn't get any. When I looked at the receipt it said no hot sauce even though I asked for hot sauce. People did a much better job when the minimum wage was half of what it is now. It's like people these days think jobs are a place you go to, to get money. Any exerted effort is an afterthought. I've also watched the menu prices almost double over the last few years. The potions have shrunk, ie the nachos. I'm not someone who is going to freak out like we see on YouTube but I kinda get where they are coming from. People these days can't hear or they are high or they just DGAF. Sheesh, I don't know what the answer is but apparently there are enough customers (suckers) who don't care or are too forgiving so these businesses keep turning a profit. It's a waste of money to imo. It's a bigger waste of time to report service issues to corporate. No one is going to address performance issues. I had never heard of Taco Time but my friend and I were hungry and there was a time constrain so my friend suggested that they had fresh locally sourced foods and I couldn't say no to tacos. I should mention that I've had a lot of tacos and fajitas over the decades from the fanciest of Mexican restaurants to hole in the wall Tex-mex "street tacos" and even the taco trucks that show up at construction sites which may or may not have been licensed by the health department. Would I rate Taco Time tacos as authentically Mexican? Well, no, they serve their tacos with tater tots for Pete's sake. Yes, TATER TOTS with tacos. Then again, what exactly is authentic? I've heard passionate debates about Torchy's Tacos in Austin not being authentic and even food made in people's homes not being authentic because Mexican food varies depending on the part of the country so the whole snobby "these aren't authentic tacos, man" debate can go down a really deep rabbit hole. So no by all objective observations, these tacos aren't even remotely authentic but if I could put the whole authentic snobby thing away, I would say that they were delicious and indeed fresh. I had the soft beef taco. The sauce isn't spicy so I had to use a lot of it but I would definitely eat there again. I would say one or two notches above Taco Bell. read more

I love TacoTime and their food is always good and the staff is always friendly. So why the three stars? I was at the drive-through window and was watching the two ladies make the food. It was a little after 12 noon on June 23, 2020 and the gal with blondish color hair was wearing her mask so that it only covered her mouth. Wearing a mask this way is like wearing no mask. For a mask to be, somewhat, effective it needs to cover your nose and especially when working around food this should be the case. Also, I got all the way home and had asked for a couple hot sauces and I had none. Everybody makes mistakes so having no hot sauce was not that big of a deal because their tacos don't need hot sauce. i went to this establishment and after I ordered and it was 30 dollars for ONE PERSON I ordered a nacho a regular nacho and when I asked what is in it they said cheese that's it so I ordered it when I opened it the cheese was barely there at all and there was pinto beans lettuce and the cheese looked green and it was so frustrating I had also ordered a number 11 a burrito with rice the rice was not cooked at all it was crunchy and tasted really bad I have eaten this exact thing before and it was delicious I have no clue what happened. I arrived at this location's driver through at 7:25 pm, about 35 minutes before they close at 8:00 pm. After waiting in the drive through line for about 5 mins, I see the manager running out and waiving at me. I roll down my window, and she tells me she can't serve me or the car behind me because the last car they take at the drive through window is at 7:30 pm, and the line of 4 cars is too long. She makes me and the car in front of me back up and leave without being served. Laughable customer service. She shouldn't be turning away drivers over 30 minutes before closing time, and she should be putting out a sign to stop people from entering before the cars are in line. It was a jarringly rude experience, and I won't be coming back. They should rename this location No Taco Time. read more

Tater' Tots with a side of rusty bolt Pros: Occasionally, the food is made with care and is properly heated. Cons: Getting served a rusty bolt with the tater' tots (mexi-fries). Clearly, the quality control at taco time is slim to none. Not only did this establishment nearly take my front teeth out, but the burritos, tacos, and other various menu items are inconsistent in quality. Sometimes the food is hot... other times, not so much. Sometimes there are plenty of beans on the burrito, sometimes it's mostly lettuce. Sometimes the chicken is cooked to perfection, other times it's not... you get the idea. The unfortunate reality is, this "fast food" chain can't compete with the big boys. If it were any good, the company would have been bought out years ago by a major fast food conglomerate. Price... unreal that they charge at least $5 for even the simplest menu items. It's beans, cheese, and lettuce on a tortilla or burrito. The margins should be large at $2 per item. The people of Seattle enjoy paying extra for something "not corporate." This place stays in business via the same people that purchase the $8 jar of asparagus in water (6 piece) at Whole Foods. This food critic will stick with Taco Bell, at 5x the quality control and 1/4 the price. read more

I have to give Angelo a huge shout out! This young man is the most kind hearted human! We are vegan, and very particular about our order, making sure there is no animal products on our food. He's always so thorough, and triple checks for us before handing it over. Tonight, a young lady passed us the soda, and he asked for my husband's coke back. Confused, I handed it back. He explained he noticed the syrup was low and wanted to make sure we got a fresh soda that wasn't watered down. Most others would've let us drive off without a care in the world. He quickly came back and apologized. I was shocked he was apologizing, because I was so grateful and thankful for him going the extra mile. I complimented him and told him to never stop being so kind! I worked in the service industry for almost 10 years, and I know how difficult it is. People are unforgiving and relentless.
