Ever since he found out about Taco N Todo, he has been gushing about these amazing rib tacos that he gets every time he comes to Tijuana. Well, since I finally was able to go with him on a food tour, we obviously had to stop here. Got the costilla (rib) and arrachera (skirt steak) tacos with cheese. Love how they don't skimp at all on toppings as you can put as much salsa or guacamole as your heart desires. Anyways, I get it now. These tacos were AMAZING. They were bursting with flavor and juiciness. I would eat these every damn day if I lived down in Tijuana. Service is pretty good. They don't really speak English, but they are very friendly and honestly it's not very hard to figure out what the menu says. Just use Google Translate and point at what you want! The best tacos in TJ hands down. The meat is juicy, tortillas fresh and hand made to order with that al dente bite (the corn is the way to go) and all the condiments truly showcase the culinary colors of Baja Tijuana. There are a few of these spots in TJ but this one has indoor/outdoor seating, bathrooms, beer and... papas! You get your choice of meat on the potato and they serve it almost mashed with cheese and butter, creating the ultimate comfort food. As for the carne, the arrachera is so tender it almost melts in your mouth and there's nothing quite as satisfying as biting into a perfectly charbroiled costilla. The skillfully presented condiment bar allows you to dress up your tacos as you see fit with a choice of several different salsas, cabbage, guacamole, plus cucumbers, limes, radishes, etc. There's a dark red salsa I'm obsessed with called chile en olivo. I took my family to Taco N Todo across from Caliente race track today, I had read the reviews which should have been the first indication given the minimal number of reviews that read too similar, the second clue was given the neighboring culinary establishments that were crowded with people waiting to dine and this place having a single couple in the back secluded area drinking and not dining. At $3.80 dollars every single taco I anticipated a spectacular taco that would be far better than any other taco in Southern California or Baja California/Mexico; however, my experience didn't measure up to our expectations. The tacos are just OK, but not at that price, and the variety is limited, and the condiments (salsa) are in the midsection of the restaurant with flies, containers stained and not clean as well as self-serve, and don't appear appetizing at all, other than a necessary option to have on hand. Even with a limited selection our orders were served and incurred and were taken back and the tacos replated. I would note that the pieces of meat were good in size (cubed) but the rudeness of the cahier is what added insult to injury in addition to the additional service fees being applied for utilizing a credit card. I'm Mexican American, have worked and traveled to various Latin American countries and I would not recommend Taco N Todo to anyone including someone I disliked. The best tacos in TJ or SD. I stopped at the roadside stand on my way back to San Diego during a late night one night, I only had enough cash for 2 tacos. I took them home to my husband; he insisted we go back the next day for more. He loves the rib tacos and the arrachera are my favorite. The roadside stands only accept cash, the physical restaurant will often tell you their credit card machine is not working so it's best to take cash. read more

First of all they open at 5pm ,I arrived a 5pm and they aren't ready to serve food , so the only had on type of meat available ,which was Arrechera . I order two tacos , then ordered two Caromellos that's the taco with cheese . The one I didn't order was the Costilla because it was still being cooked on the grill . There meat is top grade and flavorful. That's the reason for the premium price .This place is a must but not at opening time and parking is limited but worth the bother read more

I've been here twice before and both times they were out of costilla. Today I got to experience what everyone's been talking about. Pretty amazing to get the rib bone on top of your taco, almost PROVING that you're getting the real thing. Personally, I can't help but loving the sirloin taco. Really tastes like a higher meat quality than other taco places. Sure it's pricey for TJ at a bit more than 40 pesos a taco, but they're filling considering you can add all the condiments yourself including guacamole. Really feels like a family affair, and though they don't speak much English they do try to help as do the customers that speak better English. This is slowly becoming a must-stop on every trip to TJ for me. read more

This location is only a little taco stand around a grill, but it packs everything you need for the best plate of tacos you'll find. The grill is stacked with perfectly seasoned and cooked beef ribs- amazing! Our group ordered a variety of tacos off the menu, and all were phenomenal [especially the rib (Costillo) and Caramelo]. They have a variety of sauces, salsas, fresh pico, or guacamole to top your taco with. Grab a beverage at the convenience store next door, and you have everything you need. read more

Man, this place serves up some yummy tacos. Super good, super hot. A must when going to the stadium or the casino. The service can be slow, it can be hard to find a table and the staff is no help at all. And they only serve tecate and dos equis, but the tacos more than make up for any problems. Meeting some friends before a Xolos game so we decided to eat here. I'm glad we did. Delicious tacos made with good quality meats. The Ribs were seasoned so well, who needs sauce! the salsa bar was great too. Only draw back was that the waitress was a little slow with our group of 10 but being that it was before a game and there were many others there, i can't really blame her. If you love tacos, then this is the place to taste one of the best carne asada tacos in Tijuana and the only place that serves a grilled crispy rib taco. The tortillas are freshly hand made. They use skirt steak instead of the normal carne asada meat so it is very juicy, tender, and well seasoned. They offer fresh Mexican water drinks plus soda and cold beers. The condiments are very tasty and the salsas go well with the tacos they serve. You won't find the other types of tacos you find at most taco stands but you will not miss them once you taste these tacos. As far as parking is concerned, there is no parking directly at this tiny restaurant but there is plenty of spaces on the street. Sitting is very limited and if you go on nights when the Tijuana soccer team plays, be prepared for a huge crowd. The staff is very polite, attentive, and quick. The area is safe since it is next to Caliente racetrack and casino. One last note: you must try the Arrachera with cheese! You will be be dreaming about it the next day :) read more
