I'm being strict on my 4 star review. I was visiting town and running a late night errand and decided I needed a local taco. I had the carne asada taco and a chicken tostada. Everything was cooked perfectly down to the right level of crunch and tastes great. My bag came with 2 different salsas (4 total), lemons and cucumbers. And they didn't forget the napkins! I was looking for birria tacos in town when I found this place on IG. I will say I was very impressed on how big the restaurant is. It's a great stop if you want to pick up food for you and a big group. We ordered the beef flautas, which I will say the meat was a little dry. We got the mini carne asada quesadilla and vampiro. And the quesobirria tacos. The tacos were great but the consomé did not have the best flavor. But other than that, it was pretty good food. One of my co-workers recommended this place and I'm so glad I came. The tacos are amazing! The meat have so much flavor with the tortilla is super thin, therefore doesn't mask the flavor. Monster Taco is one of the few late night eats places in Yuma. You'll usually find a decent crowd on both Friday and Saturday night. It's lit up next to another food truck that I've never seen busy. They have quite a few tables and you can bring outside beer to enjoy with your food. The first burrito (carne asada) I had a Monster Taco was fantastic. I would've told you it's the best late night eats in Yuma. The second burrito was almost as good as the first but just wasn't quite a flavorful. The third chicken burrito I got was not that good. I don't know what happened but it tasted like a completely different burrito. They have a salsa bar that includes cucumbers, I think some type of pepper and maybe 3 or 4 types of salsa. After the third burrito I got pretty picky about going to Monster Taco. I stick with the carne asada and load up the salsas. The carne asada fries aren't bad either and a plus is they accept credit cards. The customer service is good and the prices are pretty fair. Initially I'd probably just go myself but now I don't mind going with friends if they want but if I'm solo I'll most likely bounce somewhere else. read more

I come out here for work a few times a year. Always forget to try this place. Decided to check it out, since I'm in town again. There's a big parking sort parking lot when you pull in and all the lights and music. There was a couple other places but I wanted to try this monster taco spot. I ordered chicken and asada tacos. The tortilla it self was super good and the meat was packed with flavor. Although I'm not used to cabbage in my tacos it was still pretty good. A row of stands and food trucks, permanently placed with well lighted seating areas . , but you will notice how this "stand" is the busiest by far . They are open til Midnight and except credit cards. The monster taco(#1 on the menu )was the star of the show ! Totally worth the "extra 1dollar " over their $2 tacos that we also tried. The taco shell was bigger and also homemade. It was made with thick masa flour & reminded me of a thin(Salvadorian ) Papusa . The "monster taco "also included a grilled green pepper like a chile rellano . It was an all around superior taco , in a town filled with taco choices ---and a great value for $3 . We thought the pastor was the most savory meat choice. We got to try a "vampire style"tostada .... having seen. them on food shows but never on a menu , that was interesting! We also tried their monster dog(Sonora dog) which was ok but not as good as Rossy Dog over on 8th. Their salsa bar was really nice .... good choices several salsas and everything looked so fresh . We ate here twice with no tummy issues at all, so I know they are keeping it clean ! They had a nicely lighted patio with a few heaters that really helped. Both visits, our orders were taken quickly, but it took unexpectedly long to get our food. Apparently the long wait is due to all the phone orders for takeout ! So yea ,,, it's good but not fast. It took me a little bit to notice the flags were like monster drinks but little jalapeños. Awesome! So we ordered nachos, carne asada bowl, quesadilla, the Indian fry bread taco, asada tacos, asada burrito, enchilada and the taquitos. All of it was good. Not a bad item in the bunch. I was expecting at least one thing to be just ok. All of it was great and perfect. The sauces aren't hot but I'm ok with that. They are tasty though. They give a good amount.
