My wife and I ended our night here after visiting a few other local places. The bartender, Tay, was probably one of the most friendly people we encountered! Drinks and food were good. We have Taco Mac at home but would come back to this one because of Tay. read more

Stopped in for some food and drinks. Was late afternoon and the place was literally empty. Sat at the bar and the service was excellent , as it should be for an empty bar. Bartender was helpful with menu selections and knowledgeable about the 80+ beers on tap. I had the wings and on a recommendation I tried the Korean garlic dry rub. Huge mistake. It was literally like a season pack from ramen noodles poured over my wings. I might have thrown up in my mouth a tiny bit. They took them back and brought me out some of their hot wings. Flavors were good. Wings at taco Mac are usually good. The burger was good also. Would definitely Go back next time I'm downtown Chattanooga read more

The food menu is on par with Hooters, in terms of quality and selection . It's pretty much your standard pub in terms of experience an atmosphere. However, they did have a selection of over 200 beers. Overall, I'd go back for a drink, but probably eat elsewhere. read more

Ordered a veggie burger 40 minutes ago...still no burger and there are no more than 20 people in the entire place. Good beer selection. But, a burger with the beer would be better. read more

Does a single patty burger really take over an hour to make? My personal favorite part has to be our waiter giving us the excuse of "There was a to-go order... or something...?" I feel like we should be getting paid to eat here. read more

First, in spite of the name this is NOT a "Mexican" restaurant. There's a bit on the website and the menu about the history of the name. As a bar this would get 5 stars. AMAZING beer selections in draft, bottles, and cans. There are hundreds of choices at any one time, and some selections are rotated in and out monthly. Plus a full liquor bar; lots of big-screen TVs; and their top-rated food items are the buffalo wings and smothered nachos (i.e., bar food). I tried the Stone Imperial Russian Stout, which was a sweet high-gravity (10.8%) stout. I don't recall ever getting a buzz on a single beer until this one, and it tasted great while buzzing. Unfortunately, it's not advertised as a bar, so I'm rating it as a restaurant. I ordered the Kenmore Burger ("...A char-grilled 8 oz burger smothered in sautéed onions, mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon and Swiss cheese...") with a side of fries. My wife got the Original Chicken Burrito ("A warm flour tortilla filled with fiesta chicken, rice and cheddar-jack cheese, topped with our queso, ...") with a side of beans. The best way to describe both food choices is "meh". My burger was dry, the fries were bland, and I guess their definition of "smothered" is about 4 mushroom slices with a couple of strips of mostly raw red onion. The Burrito wasn't much better. The queso topping had a gelatin consistency and the whole thing appeared to have been prepared off-site and reheated. There was no sauce for the chips, but the beans were surprisingly good. The atmosphere and food choices are essentially identical to national chains like TGI Fridays or Chilis. As a restaurant, I would give it 2 stars. But overall, I'll bump the 2-stars up to 3 because of the beer selection. I'll probably go back to try more beers, and maybe to try the wings, but not for the regular food. read more

While I had the Mango shrimp tacos with black beans (these are a bit spicy but has some extremely good flavor for black beans ) My date ordered the Oven Roasted wings with sweet potato fries and both were fresh and cooked to perfection. I also had the Hooch Punch which I'd give 4/5 stars. The server was energetic, prompt and polite! read more

My experience with Taco Mac was AWESOME from beginning to end! I ordered it for delivery through the Yelp app while I was in Chattanooga for work. It came much faster than I had thought it would and it came exactly as I wanted it! The ordering process was super easy through the app and the food showed up hot and delicious. I ordered the nachos and chips and salsa and as a Texan this definitely lived up to my mexican food expectations! read more

I orgered a simple take out order. The order was for 10 boneless wings with celery and carrots - quantity 2. I ordered on their website and paid in advance. When I arrived to pick up my order, the bag seemed unusually light. I checked my order and saw only 1 of the 2 orders of boneless wings. I asked the hostess about the other order. She replied I had only ordered 1 order. I showed her on my phone the Taco Mac website where I ordered and paid for quantity 2. They made the second order. I had to wait. The point of ordering and paying on the website was to have my order ready to be picked up. FAIL! read more

Meh. We stopped here for a beer because of their great selection, which they did have. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We came in around 8pm on Sunday, it was not busy, but we sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes before getting a hello. The extremely brightly lit bar area was fairly empty, but it looked like a tornado had gone through there. There were plates and glasses everywhere with no one any longer sitting there, but had not be cleaned from the bar area. In fact, we were there for probably 20-30 minutes before they even began to clean them off. There was a lot of joking around between the staff and obvious regulars, which is fine, but don't ignore those that aren't regulars. This was definitely a one and done place. read more

The facility is very nice and is located in a modern shopping district. The interior is modern, with televisions everywhere so you don't miss a play. It was Monday night, early, and we were seated immediately as the restaurant was not full. The waitress brought two glasses of water and the menus and promised to return with a third glass for me. Ten minutes later she showed up with the third glass. We ordered and the food arrived after a while and it was good. The different tacos I ordered were also good in an American-Mexican way, not the authentic Mexican way. But hey, we were a long way from Mexico so I was cool with that. After we received our food, it was a long while until we saw the waitress again, and we were definitely ready to leave. I am not sure if it was because we all ordered water and no alcoholic beverages or another reason, but the waitress should know to check on us shortly after we receive our orders to make sure the food was ok and then periodically after that. read more

I ordered a small take out order from Taco Mac in Chattanooga on a weekday in the late afternoon. I called in to specify a detail, and I had the unexpected pleasure to speak with the lovely General Manager, Heather. She was ultra friendly and receptive. I was impressed. What I didn't expect came upon arrival. At my hotel room door, I picked up the paper bag. I could see that she had packed everything personally, with extra thoughtful tlc. I was so taken with her kindness and the personal note on her business card, that I found myself in tears of joy. In these times of separation, the gift of a kind soul wishing me well over the road for my 1st trip was just beyond amazing. Thank you, Heather! read more

I was in Chattanooga on Friday, and my friend tells me that we have to go to Taco Mac for lunch. Having never heard of Taco Mac, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I think I was expecting some kind of Mexican food, but when I looked at the menu, this was not so. The menu is pretty eclectic, but it is really nothing more than overpriced bar food. I am always looking for the next greatest fish taco ever, so that was what I decided to try. Sadly, it was a disappointment. I don't know what kind of white fish that was, but I kept burping it up over the next 8 hours(gross, I know). A really good fish taco should be made with mahi-mahi, but no one close to the east coast seems to understand this. I also wanted my fish tacos kicked up a notch, so I order a side of the "Death Sauce". I put this in quotations because at no time did I feel like the grim reaper was going to take my soul if I took another bite. Did it have a kick? Yeah, but nothing life-threatening. It had good flavor, but both the "wild" and "blazin" sauces at Buffalo WIld Wings are hotter. The best thing that I got with my meal (oddly enough) was a side of black beans. I think I was just expecting plain black beans, but it had some kind of sauce with onions and peppers in it....a nice surprise, regardless. If I ever were to come back and visit any of the many locations of Taco Mac, it would be to experience their vast beer selection on tap and watch a game on one of their numerous screens. Otherwise, it's really not worth the trip. It is nothing more than a souped-up college dive with prices proportional to the wallets of the college alums that go there for nostalgia sake. I honestly would have given this a 2 star, but the beer selection bumped it up to a 2.5. read more

Taco Mac is an alright spot to eat. Awesome, clean atmosphere to watch a game with family. The food is pretty good. I had a burger and some queso; the burger was tasty, not too greasy and cooked properly. The queso was awesome. Our waitress was really good, too. Attentive and quick on her feet. I'll probably be back here eventually! read more

We went here to watch the world cup, US vs Ghana. Not really the best place to watch this type of game as I'd say about 70% of the crowd was there for the game the rest were socializing, lots of walking around. We're new to Chattanooga so we weren't sure where to watch. I ordered the boneless wings and they were over sauced and the sauce wasn't that tasty. Wasn't a bad experience but there are other places I'll try next time. read more

I want to mention that Taco Mac is not a Mexican restaurant, and they don't even have tacos on the menu! So I'm not sure why it's listed as Mexican. That said, Taco Mac is your run-of-the-mill sports bar with really loud music and like 10 televisions blaring sports games. Really, the interior can be so deafening at times that I suggest sitting outside if weather permits. The majority of food offered is certainly nothing to write home about, but the wings are AWESOME, and so are the queso/chips. The beer selection is vast and they usually have a few specials going on. This is a good place to hang out with a bunch of friends, drink, and load up on unhealthy food... and it sure beat the Chili's across the street. read more

Great great beer selection Black Korean dry rub. Flavorful but would have liked more spice - heat. I know black garlic is in the sweet side but heat would have been a nice foil for the sweet Andy was bartender and a one man show until 12 but kept up admirably Excellent Taco Mac Top Shelf Rita as well read more

Our Party if four were at Tmac in Chattanooga at approximately 4:45 pm on Saturday 2/23/19. We were seated at a booth near the bar. After waiting for about 10-15 min, long enough for all four of us to go the restroom, no server ever came to our table. We made the decision to leave and go elsewhere. While leaving, the hostess asked if there was a problem. Told her of the issue, and she said she had just recently got there and apologized. Very dissapointing as this was the first time we had tried the restaurant in over a year due to poor service on our last visit. read more

I've eaten at a lot of Taco Mac's. This location is much smaller than the rest. Good food and great drink specials. Great location in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. The hostess wasn't very friendly. Not sure why someone would hire an unfriendly host at a restaurant. Maybe she should rethink her career path. My waiter was very friendly and tended to our table in a timely manner. I ate the fish and chips and it was yummy! The tartar sauce was bad but it couldn't ruin a perfectly fried piece of fish. The air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was humid inside. Other than that, great experience and TONS of beer! read more

Skip Taco Mac and walk down to the Pickle Barrel. This place gets 2 stars because it's just so generic. Despite the unusual name, this place is basically a TGI Friday's or Applebee's: TVs showing sports, chicken wings n nachos, random nicknacks on the walls, fake old booths... The beer list is extensive, and Mike, our waiter, is a great guy. But it's not enough. read more

TMac has been my goto sports bar for... 15 years now. Great selection of beers. The list rotates pretty regularly. Eventually you can become a beer aficionado. That's really their best attribute. Amazing food and staff! TAYLOR is the best and very attentive, she definitely deserves a raise. Great drinks and great time.

Taylor was our server and she was awesome!! Such a great experience! You would never know they were short staffed she was so attentive!!

If I could give a negative rating I would, a smart thing to do being as they are so understaffed is to turn DoorDash orders off, they take over 25 minutes to get and that's if they even acknowledge that you're there! But then they probably would go under...crappy all the way around! read more

Stopped into Taco Mac on a visit from out of town (party of 2). Came in at 9:00 on a Sunday night to watch the game and some good food. Seated right away but after waiting 10 minutes for someone to wait on us, had to go get someone. Ordered our food, wings and a grilled chicken wrap. After an hour got the wings, 15 minutes later got the wrap. Food was good bust service was horrible, especially when it wasn't packed out. Hate their service ruined what could have been a. My husband and I went to Taco Mac a couple days ago. I ordered traditional wings with sweet baby ray's bbq sauce and hubby ordered a chicken wrap. Neither of us were impressed with either meal. Hubby said chicken wrap was average, but my wings were less than average. In my opinion they were burnt and had way too much sauce. I think I had more sauce on my fingers than I ate. I'm not saying to avoid this restaurant but having been to two different Taco Mac's (other in Buford, GA) neither were memorable and we know we like several dishes at similar restaurants. read more

This was our second attempt at eating here. We visited for the first time last summer. Last July we waited a long time to be seated and then even longer to get our food. The service was simply subpar. Tonight we did have to wait to be seated even though there were empty tables. We had to ask for our appetizer and it finally came out with our meals.
