Gotta do it to em. I haven't read the past reviews so I don't know why this specific Taco King has a 3 out of 5 but MAN this was an amazing experience. So GOOD that actual taco restaurants (not chains like Taco King) could learn a thing or 2 from making Mexican food. I had the adobada combination plate with a chicken taco side and it was yummy. With corn tortillas that were fresh and warm. Along with the Mexican rice which was to die for and reminded me of what I would get on the east coast. The adobada pork was so juicy and tender. I loved the bits of fat in the mix with meat. Everything just went so well together like I had collected all 6 of the infinity stones lmao. The chicken taco was great BUT the chicken was a little dry. Nonetheless the flavor was bomb. Washing it all down with some horchata. Boi was I happy. read more

taco king delivers! every time i am impressed with the staff friendliness and quality. i always love the food and it's very reasonably priced. taco king has become my go to for Mexican food when i just want fast and quick but not lacking quality. we came here prior to bingo and are happy we did. they did great. i got 3 tacos and no beans and rice but if your hungry add the been a and rice it's just enough. read more

Came in to grab lunch for the hubby and I to go. Haven't been to this particular taco king before so thought I would give it a try. First thing that hit my nose walking through the door was cleaning solution, like pinesol yuck, not what I want to smell walking into a restaurant. The first one d is always great, I love their burritos. I got the burrito deluxe and my hubby had the Mexican steak tacos. Both delicious. Their home made salsa is the bomb. There are Several of these around town - I want to review this one specifically - because they do vary by location. Here, they are always fast - and the food is still good. There aren't a lot of "surprises" here. You go to Taco King for well - Tacos. And other mainstays of the whole Mexican food experience. Beans are hearty and I get them with almost everything. I like there Enchiladas - filling and tasty. The folks working here are quick, friendly and they keep this place spotless. read more

The service was friendly and prompt, and the food was good and very authentic Mexican, non-Americanized, Mexican. The decor was OK. I had a stomach ache for most of the night after eating there, and I'm not sure if it was because of the food or not, but I suspect that it was. read more

We usually love Taco King but this experience was awful. There were employees behind the counter chatting and hanging out with other patrons who were also behind the counter. When we got our food it wasn't warm. Enchilada sauce was grainy. And no cheese was melted on top or inside of enchiladas. We were very disappointed in our food and customer service. I tried this location. Normally we eat at the Tudor location, but I passed by here while hungry. If I had not been familiar with the Tudor location, I would have written off Taco King completely based on my experience! I ordered the tostaditos with chicken and a side of rice. I got what I expected... Heated chips with a bunch of stuff on top, but the quality just was not there. Guacamole was a little brown. I definitely got the impression that they may pull their chicken from Costco rotisserie birds... Not a bad deal, but it seemed like the kitchen let too much of the carcass end up in the meal! Dark patches of the bird I would never eat at home. I picked around those places on my plate. There ended up being too many things I found in my food that I did not feel comfortable eating... So I transferred the "bad" yucky items to a different plate. This worked okay... Until I chomped into a bone with rubbery gristle! I looked both ways and spit it out. Then, of course, I couldn't stand to look at it... So I covered it with a napkin and tried to keep eating. Needless to say, I couldn't do it. The rest of the meal was filled with distrust. The wife and I came here for dinner and we were welcomed by super friendly staff that were very helpful. I love all of the paintings on the chairs and tables and backs of the booths. They had so many options to choose from. And we got our food really fast by the time we got our drinks and sat down the food was finished and coming to us. The horchata was great. Most of the food I ordered was damaged or it was spilled, and some ítems on my order werent correct.

It was okay. Staff was super nice. We got an order to go. "Special tacos" were street style (cilantro, onion, meat, corn tortilla), but I really didn't like the tortilla choice. They were two big and kinda hard. They were spicy-ish for me, but my daughter was not okay with it. She finds toothpaste spicy, but a warning would have helped me choose. The boys were fine with their burritos. My churros were underdone in the middle. I can't call this place my favorite, but good in a pinch. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I have been a long time customer of Taco King, but after tonight, no more. I usually only go to the restaurants. a couple years ago, I got delivery and it was all wrong so I vowed no more delivery. then a couple months ago, we were too lazy to go out so decided to risk it and had great results! tonight, with the crazy wind and rain, decided to risk it again. waited for over an hour, then the order was wrong. my food was right, but my husband's was wrong and they didn't bring the specifically requested salsas. called to complain. to their credit, the said they were sending someone to fix it. 25 more minutes (now my food is cold), and someone shows up with my husband's right food order. unfortunately, they still don't bring the right salsas I ordered. the delivery person said she had more in the vehicle and that she would be right back. she gets in the vehicle AND LEAVES. I mean, seriously?! all she had to do was be honest and apologize! I call back and complain again and the phone person literally couldn't care less. and when i say that i would tell folks to not order from them any longer, his response is "ok great. thank you!". wow. mistakes happen and i totally get that, but an apology as the barest glimmer of customer service would have gone a long way. shame on you Taco King. read more

Not so good. I'm part Mexican so I know Mexican food well. Ordered carne asada and got something I wasn't sure of. Where I come from carne asada tacos are the meat, cilantro, onion and a wedge of lime to squeeze over it on a corn tortilla. This had the meat right although it's on a flour tortilla with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. If I wanted that kind of a taco I'd have visited a chain restaurant. Not authentic. Also noted that the cooks were talking about a patron in Spanish and cursing her out and she was completely oblivious. Things like these are probably why there were only 2 other patrons there. I usually hit this location due to it being close to the house. I will not go there again. I ordered the Chili Verde. It should be chunks of pork simmered in a green chili sauce, what I got was some boiled pork with onions and bell peppers. Holy hannah, it was terrible! My daughter ordered nachos with ground beef. What we expected was chips, cheese, and meat. The delivered the tostaditos, which have beans, lettuce, guacamole, chips cheese and meat. She does not like to eat beans, lettuce or guacamole. The beans and rice included with the Chili Verde needed liberal addition of salt! I will continue to eat at the Tudor location, and avoid this one at all costs! read more

This was my first visit to this location and unfortunately my take out experience was quite bad. The chicken enchilada had very dangerous bones in it and the refried beans were inedibly salty. Unfortunate, as I have had good experiences at the other locations around town. Probably won't revisit this store. read more

My only experience has been with delivery orders. However, I've been left waiting for at least 2 hours the 3 times that I ordered. The food was a disappointment. I expected it to be cold for the delivery to take that long. However, the corn tortillas (tacos) and tortilla chips (nachos) where quite stale. It tasted like they were sitting out in the open overnight. The carne asada in the tacos was dry; the taste was ok. Rice was undercooked and crunchy. Even for the price, this isn't worth it. Anchorage has better Mexican restaurants. read more

After placing an order for delivery, an providing my credit card, we waited patiently for the food to arrive. 30 minutes after projected arrival time, I called to check on status. They assured me that the order had just left the restaurant. 30 mins later, I called them again to hear the same assurance. Finally, 1 hour and 15 minutes after order was supposed to be there, the driver arrived with an incomplete order and informed us we needed to pay for the food. I called for the last time, and was given attitude about the payment. Apparently the initial employee had not processed the payment nor retained the CC info. They then tried to charge me for the full order despite being aware of the incomplete status. After a heated discussion, they removed the missing items from the bill. read more

One of my guilty go to's, but good lord can they seriously work on their customer service!? The people that answer the phone is rude, short, and inattentive. And I am seriously so sick of receiving my dinner in a to go box that looks like it exploded from the inside out. Clearly no thought goes into this packaging and prep for takeout. They put the most liquidy dinner in a To go box on top of two others so of course the liquid ran all over the other boxes, down in the bag. Delivery drivers are hit or miss. They're either super personable or super rude. This time the guy griped to us about sitting in the driveway and not knowing which side of the house to come to because "no one told him which unit". We repeated our address WITH unit letter, even asking if they wrote down the unit letter upon ordering. Just to hear the driver b*tch about it to us. Wrestled our food out of the container for transport, only adding insult to injury to the mess in there. He didn't thank us and lacked professionalism. Walked off and waved us off. Not sure which taco king delivered as they have same number for all locations. Ordered 2 chicken mexican tacos, the bottom of tortilla soggy and couldn't pick up. Also ordered special taco, it was put in bag sideways and tortilla was on top of meat, looked like a hot mess. If u want taco king, I would suggest to eat in. I asked for a delivery once. And the person on the phone(Danny Moya)was extremely rude. delivery takes for ever at this place, and the food is crap in a pot when it comes as delivery. Don't order from this place. If you want to eat there, go in and get the food, but the customer service is really bad. They once mixed up my food with someone else's, and 2 hours later I finally get to eat my food. And it was stale. They also make you order at least $25 to even deliver the food. I've only been here once so that's why I give it 4 stars. I walked in and ordered. I'm not sure how long it took but I don't remember having a problem with it. There were two guys up front and they were nice. The food was DELICIOUS! I've eaten from Serrano's once and it beats them by far. I haven't used Taco King's delivery service but I was quoted an hour and a half by Serrano's! I'll update this once I use their delivery. Oh and the price was perfect! Good amount of food too. I'd rather spend $20 here than any fast food place! read more

Ordered special tacos and they were basically just meat that was re-heated put onto a corn tortilla with wilted cilantro and chopped up onions. I WILL NOT go back to this location. Thought I would try them out since everyone at work raves about them. Ordered the Tostaditas and the Gringo Tacos for delivery. The guy on the phone sounded like he really enjoyed his job (Sarcasm). They arrived at the house about 10-15 mins after I ordered (telling me either this stuff is pre-made and waiting to be heated up or they just slop it together.) The Tostaditas were burnt on the edges and the center was a soggy mess and there wasn't much flavor. Some spices would be nice. I decided to move on to the Gringo Tacos. Once again tasteless. Wife and I had late night munchie cravings. Ordered nachos, two gringo tacos and bean dip. Refried beans were from a can. Chicken is flavorless and obviously boiled. IMO this is not Mexican food at all. Not even close. It is as close as you can do when you shop at Costco. No flavor what so ever. Nothing authentic or even reminiscent of true Mexican style food.
