I have been on my family for years to try this restaurant. They finally agreed tonight. Went shopping and stopped by to pick up. Super impressed with how fast we got the order. On way home saw we were missing a drink, said no big deal. We have drinks at home. Get home and we were missing a full meal. Still not discouraged. My daughter says she will go pick it up. Not a fan of food preparer wiping his sweaty forehead with the back of his glove and then continuing on to make the food. Another visit the staff was so short that the cashier wearing gloves hopped on to the steam table to put our order together. Same glove that was used to take money!! Food was great! The stations they were being prepared at were a little messy, and hot sauces weren't refilled but there wasn't anything outwardly offensive about the kitchen at a glance. The kitchen was actually very close to the counter, so it was easier to see what was going on back there. I am a fan of that. I wasn't a fan of the fact that there was nothing truly spicy here. If corporate could add something with a little more kick to the condiment bar, that'd be nice. The lobby here is horribly dingy, but was probably as sanitized as staff could get it. Where this location falls short: The bathrooms. I am the type of person to take a photo of a bathroom and upload it if it's clearly an issue of constant neglect (and not one patron sneaking in and destroying a stall in between cleanings,) but for the love of all that is holy, I have chills recalling that bathroom. You know things are bad when the most disturbing thing you see in there isn't all the feces or urine everywhere: the presence of blood was shocking. The bathroom should have been IMMEDIATELY quarantined. If this is a normal occurrence for the kids who work here, oh my god, you poor bastards need to QUIT. If your manager is not equipping you with gloves, a painter's mask, shoe slip ons, and extra pay as incentive... If they expect you to clean that with anything less than top of the line procedure and products, take off your apron and WALK OUT. read more

I ordered using their app. Wind picked up my food and it was Stone. Cold tried to talk to them about it. And they say that there was nothing they could do about it. Their owner wants them to make. Thanks as soon as it pops up. So if it's cold, it's cold and there's nothing they are going to do about it. I said I would just talk to the manager in the morning. The lady that took my order was covered in scabs and bandaids. The food grates where your food was prepared had a large amount collected, my food certainly had old other food prepared earlier that day. The floors were sticky, walls chipping paint, soda machine appears to never have been cleaned. I did not finish my food and will regret eating what I did later. read more

Completely disappointed. The worst service I've EVER received from a taco johns. I pulled in and I asked for TWO Potato Ole Nachos. At which point the "manager" working the window proceeded to argue with me that they don't have "potato ole nachos" and I stated that I had just gotte the potato okra with the meat and cheese on Sunday. And the jerk was like "oh you mean the Super Potato Ole" I didn't know what it was called but I know that they knew damn well what I was talking about WITHOUT MAKING ME FEEL BAD FOR BOT KNOWING THE APPROPRIATE NAME! And then they handed out the drinks and one was SIGNIFICANTLY lighter then the other. I shrugged it off. And they sent me on my way without so much as a "have a nice night." I drive my 30 minutes to go back hone. Only to discover that after arguing with me I was rung up for and charged for only one of the "SUPER POTATO OLEs" and my drink was partially empty. I called and spoke to the so called "manager" who's statement to me was "well I'm sorry you didn't order your Super Potato Oke properly if you'd like to come back and pay for a second one we can give you a second one" which fine I'll pay for a second one my issue isn't paying for it my issue is the shit customer service from the second I rolled up to the speaker. I'm not driving another 30 minutes for food that I should have been given in the first place. And when I told the manager about my drink he said "yes there was some foam in the cup it probably just settled" cool. So I paid for foam and to have you make me never want to eat at your restaurant again. I understand a busy day and being stressed. But you don not treat customers like that. Potatoes ole will change your life. It's like a mexican tater tot that rapes me but in a gentle way that I enjoy. So maybe it's really not raping me but seducing me rather? This place is great for late night drunk food. I have had it for lunch, and borderline sober, and it just was not the same. Also, their tacos are pretty damn delicous come to think of it. Everything on their menu is DELICIOUS!! I've never experienced anything like their potato oles before. Crunchy potato bites with seasoning dipped in sour cream. Sooo good. The tacos are great, too. However, they put a mild sauce on the tacos that I don't really like- so I usually ask for the tacos without the sauce. Another one of my favorites is the meat and potato burrito. It's a combination of their yummy tacos and their yummy potato oles!! Ya can't go wrong. But my ultimate favorite thing to get at Taco John's is the taco salad. It comes in a crispy tortilla bowl. Lots of lettuce, cheese, meat, tomatoes, olives, salsa, and sour cream. Since I'm a picky eater, I usually edit the toppings on my taco salad, but it's always delicious. I haven't had Taco John's for over 6 years. In fact, I don't usually grab fast food at all anymore. But I was on a road trip Dec 29 (around 12:45pm) and had a hankering for my old favorite, chicken & potato burrito. Walked in and was greeted immediately by two employees. The front and back of the house were VERY tidy and clean. (Regular grilled) chicken & potato burrito was not listed on the menu, and one of the employees overheard and engaged with me about it, as he was surprised since the menu boards were brand new in the past few months. He didn't have to care as he wasn't the one ringing me up, but he seemed to take pride in his work and customers and engaged in this conversation. My food was made, and I was on my way out when this same gentleman/employee cheerfully said goodbye. Looked like he was on his way out too, as he told his coworkers he'd be back at 5:30am the next morning. I don't usually Yelp. But when I have genuinely had a great experience somewhere, I want the people and their managers to know it. This gentleman went above and beyond. Kudos to him. read more

This taco John's seems to be in a ghetto but luckily the workers inside were not and as American as apple pie. Taco john's is like way better than Taco Bell and this place despite its age was worth a stop. this morning when I got to taco John's I placed my order through the driving service they said nothing about it being too to early to place a lunch order for lunch upon arriving to the window he asked me who all the food was for. Food is great, and the store manager is fantastic. She seems to be there an AWFUL lot though, in the morning for breakfast, then again later in the evening, why? I certainly hope the owner is compensating this young lady properly, but somehow I doubt it. Glassdoor doesn't rate this business very good from it's employees. read more
