This is a reply to the Jersey Mike person who question my review we went to the location on East State Street in Rockford. We had soup. We both had cheddar broccoli soup and our subs were grilled or warmed up or hot. I don't know exactly the term you got for it, but it was Jersey Mike's and it was on East State in Rockford. Jersey Mike's is a great option for a quick bite, however I feel like they've raised their prices a bit. The bread is freshly baked, the meat is freshly sliced, there are a variety of vegetables. The only reason for 4 starts is because i think for 2 sandwiches, chips and drinks it was 23.00$ I will say I prefer Jersey Mike's over Jimmy Johns or Subway but i just don't understand why it's so pricy. I LOVE the Italian, mikes way. Perfect combo of flavors and fresh ingredients. Staff is always so sweet and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Good for catering, or just to pick up some sandwiches for the family. The pickles they make are amazing, they taste like really, homemade pickles which a big crunch. They have huge TVs. Very pleased with this location. Have the employees a 10 minute warning our party of 20 was comping in from the soccer fields. They were ready. Orders handled quickly and correctly. This place was so good! My husband had a Philly cheesesteak and he said it was awesome. They grilled the steak right in front of you with the onions and peppers which made it 1000x better. I had a turkey sub, mikes way and that was delicious... the bread was so fresh! We also had great service tonight. They were SO FRIENDLY... everyone that was working tonight was great. To top it off, when they weren't busy... they were cleaning! That makes us want to eat there every night! read more

I got the bacon ranch chicken cheese steak and it was suppose to be served hot and mine was cold. The overall sub didn't taste that great either. I do like that the meats were sliced fresh, but I will give it a second chance and try a cold sub and see if it's any better. This place is just not my go-to place for sub sandwiches. read more

I love coming to this Jersey Mike's! The staff is always so friendly and charismatic. I always get the chipotle chicken philly on wheat and it never disappoints! Great flavor, not too spicy, always hot and fresh. Only thing I wish is that they ask for additional toppings before they wrap it up...because it's a hot sandwich they usually wrap it up straight from the grill, and the option of Mike's way or any other cold toppings has to be asked in advanced. read more

I've always felt that 173 is limited on options compared to other areas of town. I decided to give Jersey Mike's a go. I have been to Chicago area locations but this was the first time I've been to the one in Machesney Park. In this case I had a Philly cheese steak. My cousin had a cold sub with roast beef, turkey, and bacon. Price was $22 for 2 of us. Expectation: Chain restaurant Pro's -Meats there always appear fresh and are cut to order -Selections are a little lower than Subway, but I think the quality makes up for that Cons -Service will be a little slower due to the made to order. This particular day they seemed a little under staffed. The staff almost forgot to add bacon to my cousin's sandwich. -Cold subs may be the better bet. My Philly cheese was a little disappointing, and was a little on the soggy side, lacking flavor Bottom line: I still want to give this place a second shot. There were five or six employees behind the counter when I walked in but nobody greeted me. There were signs saying "online order" and "pay here" but it was not clear where or how to place an order. Employees seemed to be very busy assembling to go orders to even care that a customer had walked in off the street. I ordered a chicken philly. Despite having a whole array of sandwich toppings...which I presume like Potbelly where there to put on sandwiches...instead they wrapped my sandwich in tin foil and said "oh it comes the way listed on the menu unless you specify something different." Food is great, but worker never took gloves off. Not real appetizing. We came in today and he took the order wearing them. Touched his face wearing them.Took money wearing them. You name it he touched it with the same pair of gloves on. Might as well just not had any on. Glad he did not fix my food. Felt sorry for the people infront of me though. read more

I can only speak for the philly cheese steak which tastes great. My son orders the Italian sub and says it tastes good. The only complaint is the cost. Even with a free sub coupon, the bill for the largest size and regular size with drinks and chips was over $23. read more

I feel I should preface this review by saying that my husband and I are huge fans of another national sub chain. We went to this Jersey Mike's right after they opened a couple of years ago and were not impressed. However, we had a coupon and decided we should give it another shot. We will NOT be back. They, unlike the other chain, are "Freaky Slow". We went in on a Sunday afternoon, around 2:00 (not a busy time). The lady took our order quickly, but then we waited about ten minutes (with three people in front of us) before we got up to the side that makes the sandwiches. This in itself is not so bad. I went to find a seat while my husband waited for the food. After about another ten minutes, my husband came over to the table and said they had given our food to the person behind us by mistake. The person was already gone, so they had to re-make our sandwiches. After another ten minutes or so, we get our food. I open my sandwich and it's not at all what I ordered. By this point I was hungry enough that I didn't even care. My husband insisted that they get it right, so he took the sandwich back and told them it was wrong. The man apologized and said they would make another one "right away". After about five more minutes, he called to my husband and asked what we wanted on the sandwich. When I finally got my sandwich after about another five minutes, it was right, but had mustard smeared all over the sandwich....even on the outside. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but it was very sloppy and difficult to eat. The sandwich tasted OK....nothing special in my opinion. Obviously they are popular, because they are always busy, but it is not for us. read more
