That is not a small statement. For our main course, we all ordered the Wagyu steak and I cannot recommend it enough. It cuts like butter and is absolutely divine, worth every penny. If you're a steak person, do not hesitate. For our sides, we shared the mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, truffle fries, and mashed potatoes and every single one was incredible. To finish the night, we had the chocolate layered cake for dessert. I paired mine with a coffee and oh my goodness, best cake. Everything we ate was perfection. The staff was incredible, going above and beyond to make our experience special. The cleanliness of the restaurant and the adjacent restrooms were absolutely immaculate, which speaks volumes about how well this place is run. I used to say that the steaks here were very good but the starters, drinks, and sides were very mid to poor. We had a much better meal here this past visit. First of all, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The spirit list seemed expanded, though their wine by the glass list was still limited. My husband at least was happy with his cocktail and I stuck with water/tea. Their lobster bisque was by far the best tasting compared to other visits: much more rich lobster flavor and actually a few small lobster pieces to be found. They also had the first salad I've gotten here that I enjoyed in the beet salad. I love a good salad so I was thrilled!! It was a touch heavy with the vinegar but overall very enjoyable; I particularly enjoyed the blood orange supremes with the beets. Our steaks were both cooked perfectly, one a filet and the other an aged NY strip. They had a nice crusty sear and were not overcooked with great flavor. The sides were still not 100%-- the carrots were undercooked and too hard for my taste and the creamed spinach was still a bit too dairy-heavy so the spinach was covered up. The hubs loved his mash and had no critiques once we removed the sour cream and set it to the side. I was a bit disappointed the restaurant did not do anything at all for his birthday. I know for a fact they often do desserts for birthdays (have been for a friend's birthday and she was given a complementary dessert), and I did let them know when booking and on arrival it was the actual day of his b-day. We certainly did not let it reflect poorly upon our overall experience of the night but it was a bummer he was not included in this rather common practice of celebration. I called the restaurant and they suggested coming the day before the holiday as they would be very busy on Sun. I made reservations at 5pm on Sat and said the couple would not be able to stand and wait long. When we arrived, the place was packed with people waiting to be seated. To my surprise and relief, they were seated within a few minutes, and the hostess assisted with the walker. The menu was overwhelming for them, so I helped Mom select a drink and told them to have the waitress recommend an entree. Then I left them to their romantic dinner. When I came back an hour later they were finishing up and getting their doggie bags. Nobody rushed them, and they raved about how wonderful the food was. Their memories aren't great anymore, but I know they will be talking about their special dinner for awhile!

I have been here many times with our family and I can honestly say I've never had a thing I didn't like. The most recent time we came, I had the vegan zoodle dish and it was great! Most places don't have something to fit my super limited dietary needs, but TOC did and it was very tasty. The managing of the restaurant has been the negative part in our experience. For example, we came this past Easter with our extended family (our yearly tradition we usually look forward to), we've had a reservation for weeks, and they weren't ready with our table for 15+ minutes after our reservation time, and especially with our group having two 88 year olds, it's not comfortable or safe to make them wait that long with no table seats. When they did seat us, they gave us 1 waitress for probably 25 people, when in years past they've given us 2-3 servers (and that worked great). The server we had was over and above nice and helpful, so none of it was her fault, it was just the restaurant planning side of things that was a disappointment. Our reservations were at 1, we didn't eat till almost 3. Almost 2 full hours to get our food. Granted, it was a holiday, so I didn't take off more stars for that, but that's never happened to us before and we all left with a metaphorical bad taste in our mouths. So hopefully this was just a bad day they had, and if it was, I'd for sure come back. But if that's the new normal, I don't think I would.
