I started with the best ceviche I've ever had, and would have been happy and full just with that incredible dish. The shredded beef burrito was icing on the cake, filled with slow-cooked beef along side a plate of very tasty beans and rice. Happened to just drive by this place and saw the parking lot full! Decided to give it a try and was happy with the outcome. They give chips and this really good bean dip as a starter not to mention they offer a salsa bar. Salsa bar was ok one of the salsas has gone bad so they should check that a few times through out the day. I ordered the shrimp enchilada and a cheese enchilada. I like this slightly hidden restaurant because of the location and that it's open late. I have been multiple times and unfortunately the last visit has queued a review. My family and I went after a long day, we just wanted some food. My brother had good reviews on the place and I told him I liked it so we went there. I have the #30 and my brother had fish and shrimp taco, my plate was great everything was yummy! My brothers plate tho wasn't the same, when the first plate came out they have served my brother just the batter to the shrimp, literally we picked thru the batter and there was no shrimp. So we showed the lady and asked for another shrimp they come out a few mins later and they weren't cooked all the way thru, my brother isn't one to bother so he just didn't eat it. Since there cooked new shrimp for him I feel they should've have made sure they were cooked thru. Like I tell my staff it's all about details. We live nearby and had never eaten here so we wanted to try the place. I ordered online, a cheese enchilada combination plate with rice and beans (no salad) and another different combination plate for hubby. Hubby went to pick the food up, came back a few minutes later and said I must have ordered from the wrong location because they didn't have my order. He said when he went into the restaurant, they asked him if he was Door Dash as that was the only order waiting. I showed him the order on my computer where it clearly said this location, he printed it out and took it back. Turns out the "Door Dash" order was ours. Weird when absolutely nothing about the order mentioned Door Dash. He got home, his plate was fine, mine was wrong. Instead of a combination plate, it was just 2 enchiladas. No rice, no beans. I don't recommend eating here unless you're good at ignoring bad customer service. I got hustled because the waitress assumed the meal I wanted and didn't ask me to clarify. I ordered a meal that is written twice on the menu (same name) so when I asked why I was charged extra and I pointed to the one I wanted the waitress said "that's not what you ordered, this is what it actually is". There was no resolution and the meal that they gave my 1 year old was stale like it had been out for a day before it was served. read more

My takeout order was totally mess up back in December. So after waiting 30 more minutes to get my food (plus the original 30 minute order) the crew took ownership and refunded my order in a gift certificate. We frequent Taco Giro and were happy with the gesture. So tonight, I went to use the gift certificate at a different restaurant and after ordering my food, they said the couldn't honor the certificate at their Restraunt. I showed on the certificate that it says valid at all locations, where upon the manager questioned why I was using it now when it was issued in December. He told me that they could not honor it and it was only valid at the point of issuance. I was amazed! I paid the bill, left a 20% tip and will now bid Taco Giro a farewell. I've been a loyal patron for 6 years. There are plenty like establishments that will now get my business. read more

There was a charge that was an error due to the restaurant not having a pork chop and the person I spoke to was very short, and denied the charge. When I mentioned the charge still being on the receipt, she quickly blamed Grub Hub. I tried to be respectful and didn't receive the same treatment. Now, we're out of the money and food. I had heard about this place from my tia/aunt. She raved of the great prices and good food. It was a rainy Saturday so I headed out to try this new place for breakfast. The sign out front of the restaurant read 'NOW serving breakfast' so it seemed that bfast was a new offering. Went in there with my mom and cousin and ordered 2 large bowls of menudo and a side of pancakes, an egg and sausage for my baby cousin. The pancakes, egg and sausage were standard (I stole some bites! Haha). The menudo tasted a little watered down while lacking in flavor and the toast served with it was standard. The soup came out luke warm... not good. The service was poor. We waited forever for our drinks, received bad attitudes from the waiting staff and had to ask for our check 3 different times. I did enjoy the crispy homemade tortilla chips and bean sauce/salsa they served before the meal (check the photos.. uploaded a pic). I thought it was nice, different and pleasant surprise! I am anxious to try this place during dinner time because the other reviews and my aunt still enjoy this place. I am saying 2 stars for now... but will edit this review based upon my dinner dining experience. Dinner and specifically seafood seem to be this place's specialty, so more to come! read more

Was the last ones to order and take our food to go, Both my husband and myself got extremely sick from food poisonin. The manager straight didn't give a crap all he said was thanks and I'm sorry. Taco Giro is an authentic, and is definitely a hidden gem! Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. I enjoyed the enchiladas, which may be ordered a la carte. There's complimentary chips and salsa, along with an entire salsa bar. The patio looks really nice, although it'd be nice if they had heat lamps for the cooler winter weather. This restaurant has recently changed from an old established business called El Sabroso to this new Taco Giro venue. I like the new change. The menu is very full with many options. I had the Filete de Pascado (fish filet served with rice, steamed veggies and salad.) There was plenty to eat and it was very fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. There are interesting painted murals on the walls and ceiling which gives it a very unique Mexican cultural look. My only complaint is there was a Foosball game on the TV (they have 3 flat screens) and the volume was a bit loud, which this time I was by myself so I wasn't concerned about trying to converse with anyone, so I did not complain and ask if they could turn it down -- there were game fans there enjoying it!!! We came here on a late Sunday afternoon after a day at the Ostrich Ranch - we wanted to stop at Theresa's Mosiac, but they close at 2 on Sundays... so we gave this place a try... it was good, nothing to write home about though. My husband definitely enjoyed his taco salad as it had carne asada on it instead of the typical ground beef. The salsa was decent, and my chili relleno and cheese enchilada was good and authentic, the rice was very good - I like the consistency and flavor and is was again very authentic. The iced tea was completely flavorless, but my waitress replaced it with a Jamaica. There is a nice patio out in the front, and a large menu including a plentiful alcohol and seafood selection. There are TV's inside, unfortunately, the final four games weren't being played, it was on a Mexican station, but it is a Mexican restaurant :) This place cured our hunger, but it certainly doesn't hit our top 20 places for Mexican in the Old Pueblo! read more

There food is not consistent. I ordered the same dish on two different occasions. The difference was amazing. The second time we ordered the dish was pretty bad. Shrimp was burnt beyond edible. The crab legs were the size of a pencil. It was missing different kinds of seafood and they made up for it by adding onions and red sauce. I ordered 3 of the same dishes and all 3 were the same. I contacted the restaurant and they basically told me tough luck. Won't eat here again read more

I LOVE taco giro! Everything I've eaten there is incredible and very affordable. The service isn't the best, but I will always go to taco giro if I want GOOD Mexican food for a reasonable price. There is one server who is very good, attentive and continues to check on you, when I go back I'll look for her name to recognize her great service. But again the food is always awesome read more

This place is in my barrio. I have eaten here many times over the years. For me this place has been hit and miss. When I have had bad service unfortunately its been pretty bad and often. The bad service is usually due to having to wait way to long for refills, extra napkins etc. The last time i visited i was completely ignored by my server. I had to ask a different server for refills. I asked for a box for left overs from my server who never apologized for for never coming around to check on us. And as I was boxing my food a fly flew out of my pile of rice on my plate. NEVER AGAIN! read more
