Carne Asada, Pollo and Carnitas Taco Salad
    Tamisha Y.

Ordered the shredded beef taco salad for lunch. The salad was basically the chunks off the end of a lettuce head. The "salad" was depressing. The cold chunks of lettuce mixed with the hot piping meat of the shredded beef made my salad soggy and the texture was ruined because of it. Meat was so tender but lacked some seasoning. The waitress was attentive but did not refill our drinks until after we were almost done eating. Poor service there for ya.

The best Mexican food ever. Get the Molcajetes! Also the 2 dollar margarita Mondays! They make the drinks strong and the food amazing.

I love this place. Every time we come down to Tuscon, we stop here. I got the Molcajete Mix. Got a little bit of chicken, Carne asada, shrimp, nopals, cheese, and avacado. It was very good, a lot of food, came with rice and beans on the side.

Chicken Enchiladas and Fresh Shrimp platter were super yummy and so flavorful!

Come here all the time and needed to rate it so others can share in the delight! Great food, great service, and reasonable prices is what keeps us coming back. They also have a unique bean dip that comes with the chips and salsa that cannot be beat!

Nothing I ordered came out looking anything like any of the picture they put on their menu. The carne asada looks like boiled beef from Filiberto . The shrimp cocktail looks like Clamato tomato and a few shrimps. Missing like 3 ingredients that where in the photo. Bland. Never ever again. I even went as far as complaining to the manager about my experience with the food quality. They didn't seem to care all I wanted was the money.

I can't believe the bad reviews this place has! A group of 7 of us went on Saturday night and we were seated right away. The service was terrific. The drinks and food were incredible! I am very picky about red enchilada sauce, but this one was delicious. I am pretty critical about margaritas as well, but this one passes the test. They have good specials during the week I can't wait to go back for those.

Nice booths, fast service and very good food and drinks.

The restaurant is conveniently located about 5 miles off the 10 freeway, making it an easy detour if you don't want to stray far from your route. I ordered the Trio Aguachiles, which comes with approx a cup servings of green, red, and black aguachiles--perfect if you want to sample a bit of everything. The black aguachiles were by far the standout: bold, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. The red aguachiles leaned more toward a coctel profile, heavy on the Clamato, which wasn't quite what I was expecting. The green aguachiles were fresh but unfortunately very bland, lacking salt and seasoning. I ended up adding my own spices and mixing them with the black aguachiles. I wouldn't recommend ordering the green aguachiles on their own. My husband ordered the Cheto Roll and the Valencia Roll. The flavors were good overall, but both rolls were a bit rice-heavy and could have more filling to better balance each bite. The ambience was a pleasant surprise--moody music at a comfortable volume, a clean and luxe feel, and attentive, friendly waitstaff throughout our visit. Prices felt fair for what you get. Overall, this is a great stop for a mariscos fix while traveling, especially if you want something convenient and don't want to steer too far off your route. We'd stop again--just with a more selective order next time.

That I even send compliments to the cook. The ribeye aguachile stake was cooked perfectly, it was just delicious. The molcahete sea food was loaded! The juice was perfect, not too much lemon not too heavy. The guacamole chicharrones were also at perfection, not too hard and difficult to chew, they were medium, not too soft and not too hard. The music was not too loud and we could still have a conversation. Until next time Bochas!

Have I finally found the promised land of fish tacos in Tucson? I think so…read more La Palma may be the closest experience in Tucson to the Baja fish tacos I could find throughout Southern California. Their big white food trailer is topped with a large blue tarp that shades a comfortable seating area. The location is kiddy corner from a gleaming white church at the opposite side of the intersection. In a short time, La Palma has become my go-to for fish tacos because the quality is consistent and they know how to dress the tacos with the right combination of flavors. Additionally, they make a mean horchata that compliments the meal perfectly. I'm probably in the wrong crowds because I have not heard other people mention La Palma while praising quite lesser places. I don't get it. All I can say is that for those SoCal folks who are passing through Tucson and are hankering for good fish tacos, pull up to La Palma and be overjoyed. P.S. The folks here are very nice and welcoming.

The breading on the fried shrimps is excessive, in my opinion. Just had the grilled fish quesedilla, and it was outstanding...cheese, garlicky, lots of fish..will have again...but I didn't care for the fish tacos. The cooked shrimp tostada is a winner 4 stars.
