Average in all respects. Service was good. Food was typical heavy Mexican fare. Lots of fats and carbohydrates -- but one knows that before one orders. Looked for a healthy or creative menu option but not found. read more

Awful fish tacos. $1. Upchrge to bread them!! Put it in the price.! Service was horrible. Kitchen manage was delightful and tried to make up for it! read more

Food and service were excellent. Busy on Friday nights but didn't wait more than 10 minutes

We were pretty stocked to get a new Mexican place in AJ. Totally let down. We are a family of 6. They were able to seat us right away which was nice. The food was pretty good but the service was absolutely terrible. The waitstaff were polite but pretty useless. They were busy but we literally waited 25 minutes for a drink order and then another 20 to get it. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to eat Once our food was delivered, no one checked to see if it was good. Never got a refill on the drinks. Zero customer service. Very sad as we had high expectations based on others but were sadly disappointed. read more

No longer Elviras mexican restraunt although sign still up. Horrible service , server never came back. Had to ask hostess for check and to bring change. Food was horrible , not kidding. Just bad. Bland food. read more

Delicious food, prompt service. Wide choice in the menu. Reasonable prices. Pretty interior! Much better than other Mexican restaurants. read more

Amazing food and great service. The portions were huge. This is an amazing place. We also loved the old Elvira's ambiance they kept! My wife and I thought that a servers were on point I would recommend this restaurant again and again. The old Elvira's is gone and that's ok people need to accept change and what a wonderful change it was. read more

we have eaten here many times since moving to Arizona 2 years ago. I must say the food and service has been consistently wonderful. The food has always been very good and the servers are very friendly and attentive. Their menu is extensive but I wish they had an ala-carte menu so that you could make your own combination of items that you really like. The ones that they have are great but most have an item that I want and one that I really don't care too much about. Their breakfast menu is wonderful, lunch has several items to choose from as does dinner. We were just there and our server, Anabel, was wonderful. Always had a smile and was by to check on us frequently. We will definitely be back again very soon. Highly recommend this amazing restaurant. read more

Went into Taco Rigo in Apache Junction on Saturday I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Excellent Service Very Clean, Food was Excellent read more

The atmosphere was great. However, the server was slow to take our order, and it took over an hour to get our food. We had shrimp tacos, and the shrimp was cut up into pieces rather than whole shrimp, as the menu showed. The beans and rice were good. When we were done, I ended up having to go to the cashier because our server never brought our bill. We won't be going back. read more

What a bummer.. $5 for a soda, food was horrible- super plain. Chicken had no flavor and almost gave the consistency of Tuna. It's one thing if the food is good and expensive, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. We won't be back. read more

Taco Giro was once called Elvira's, but its reputation sank after the original owner died. In the last year alone it has changed hands no less than three times, according to an ex-employee. After eating lunch here the other day, we can see why. Their prices are aggressive - ranging from $14 to $65 for lunch entrees. I ordered a $14 taco salad. When it came, it looked fantastic. Only after I had dug down past the top layer of ingredients, did I discover I had just been a patsy for the dirtiest trick in marketing: the "salting" of something valuable over worthless ground, a trick played on naïve gold miners during the gold rush days. I have never had a taco salad that was 90% RICE. The menu description made no mention of this being essentially a Rice Salad in a non-edible taco shell. To add insult to injury, I asked for an extra spoonful of sour cream, and received a charge of a dollar added to my bill. A $9 margarita consisted of mostly crushed ice and water and a Huevos Rancheros was three tiny eggs and of minimal quality. Look for this gouging crook to place Taco Giro up for sale for a 4th time. read more

Margaritas to sweet & where was tequila? Has all the makings of a good restaurant but staff needs more training to provide good timely service. Food was good. read more

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, colorful and super clean!! Our dishes were from the lunch menu. I had the shredded chicken taco salad and my husband had the caldo de pollo. The soup had lots of chicken and huge pieces of veggies. Rice, cilantro and green onions were included. Great food and generous portions Attentive service. Dani was so nice, always smiling and spot on. Every dish came out as ordered. read more

Excellent food, very large portion f fajitas. We split the order and it was great plenty. Maybe ask for a couple extra tortillas even if you pay extra it is worth it. We were served very fast and they were swamped busy!!! Go early before the 5 o'click crowd. read more

My first time here. Everything was dirty from the 12 page menu, the tables, and the walls. The service was very slow but the staff were nice. The steak tacos I got were weird and not good. They were only $1.99 but they were not even worth that. What got me was the fact that sodas are $5! The prices are pretty outrageous when you aren't ordering off the weekly specials menu. Save yourself a trip. It's expensive for the quality of food. There are plenty of good Mexican restaurants to eat at. This one sadly is not. read more

Our new go to for good plentiful Mexican food. We go weekly and have not had a poor meal.

We stopped in not long after Taco Grio took over the Elvira's Mexican Restaurant. The furnishings are the same, but that's about it! The menu has lots of options and caters to just about anyone who stops in. We were there for lunch, but plan on going back soon for breakfast! The service was great. We were seated and placed our order within the first 10 minutes of arrival. The food was very flavorful, good portions and looked beautiful as well. Our only suggestion for improving our meals is if they offered more pork options. Everything is beef, chicken or cheese. There are no pork tacos, pork enchiladas, etc. read more

Very friendly staff and the food was good. The staff is always so accommodating and gives you the attention you need. The interior is nicely decorated as well. read more

The Food & the Service was excellent! Cold drinks, good Salsa, tasty beans & rice...You can't go wrong with this place and never miss their Taco Tuesday's!! read more

AMAZING food, generous portions, and terrific service. Music/ambiance makes it even better A+++

Ordered a ground beef à la cart chimichanga for lunch. The dish came with about a tablespoon of sour cream and a tablespoon of avocado on the side. There was no sauce no cheese on top or inside the chimichanga. It was a dry piece of shoe leather. When I questioned the wait person, she said oh yes that's how they come. I should have told you when you ordered. When the bill came I was charged $11.99 for the chimichanga and an additional $1.99 for them to fry the "burrito. Again, I asked the wait staff if this was correct and she said oh yes I should've told you that when you ordered. The restaurant made no attempt to "make it right" even tho the fault certainly fell on the wait staff in my opinion. read more

New place in the area that I really wanted to try! I called at 7:45 one night recently to see if I could order 1 meal for pick up and was told they closed the kitchen already. 15 minutes before they close! I wouldn't typically order this late but was busy and lost track of time. It's always been my experience that if a restaurant is open until 8 they seat and take orders up until 8. I called Los Gringos, who also closes at 8. They gladly took my order and money! This new place doesn't seem all that interested in getting new customers. Your reviews aren't great but I was still willing to give you a shot until you turned me away before closing time. read more

My wife ordered a chicken taco and a Chile relleno. They were ok. I had the steak fajitas which were not ok. They were served in a teriyaki style sauce. It was sweet and weird. It wasn't Mexican food at all. Hated it! And this place is incredibly expensive. read more

Taco Giro in Apache Junction is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TRUE MEXICAN FOOD I'VE HAD IN YEARS!!! I don't often review, but this food is fabulous. The previous restaurant at this location was sub-par, but this is authentic Mexican food! 10 out of 10!!! read more

great food and really good service. what more can you ask? we (2 couples came for dinner and margaritas. we all tried different dinners as this was our first time since the new owners. we all loved our meals and the service was terrific i decided to try their breakfast this morning. i had their huevos rancheros special with rice and beans. even comes with choice of flour or corn tortilla and a small green salad. it was as good as i've ever had. i'll be back every wednesday for this! read more

Did a lot of waiting for our waitress, which made it very difficult. We were provided several wrong items, which could have easily been rectified by our waitress coming back around, but instead we had to go to the front and ask for the items. We continued to wait to find out the person at the front had not asked for the items to be made nor our last items to come. We then had to ask again. We continued to wait so long that someone cleaning off our table asked if he should get the waitress. We also would have really liked to have a refill. Sad because the food was good, but probably won't come here again. We were still charged for the wrong items lol read more

Great food and service. Our waitress Dulce was amazing as well as the food. Definitely will go back. It's my new favorite place to go!

Interior is the same. New menu. Food was outstanding and service was excellent. Will be back.

Food was ass, made me sick it was 80 fucking dollars never again. Got 2 tacos w rice and beans and so did my significant other and it was gross. Guacamole was brown, and they said it was fresh? I come from a family Mexican restaurant and this was very disappointing. Do not go read more

Went to a late lunch with my mother in law today and our server was fantastic. Food was amazing!!! However after our meal we were just chatting, catching up etc. The restaurant was not busy at all....this woman who may have been the owner? Was absolutely aggressive. Late 50's? Long braid gray and black hair. She made us feel so incredibly uncomfortable while catching up. Don't know if we would go back and don't know I would recommend based on this experience. read more

The waitress tried but the hostesses sat so many tables as fast as they could. So she didn't stand a chance. One table finally walked out. The food finally arrived before the margaritas we ordered and was luke warm. The food was bland, the gristly. The experience cost $60. Needless to say, we will NOT return. It is clean read more
