I Just got a burrito and when I opened it at home within 10 minutes, tons of liquid poured out, like the color of water mixed with the black beans, as if either the beans or maybe the lettuce hadn't been drained? I used 2 paper towels soaking it up from my plate! I immediately tried to call them to let them know so other customers don't experience the same thing, and the recording was just in Spanish. I looked up the phone number in 2 different places and it gave me the same one. read more

tdm is so comforting, and reminds me of old seattle. it's not even that good, but then again it is. sadly, last night myself and my wife ate here and got severe food poisoning. i wasn't even able to work the next day! probably not the staffs fault, tdm just needs a new way to store food to keep things more fresh. feeling better now at least, but being violently ill over tacos is never fun! read more

This is NOT ok. I used to be a huge advocate of taco Del Mar, but the last year or so, they have had a major downturn in quality and taste. I figured, yeah whatever, it's fine, and still came on occasion, when I needed a quick meal... today was the last day I do so. I ordered a side of rice and beans. I bring it home. I start to stir the beans and rice, you know, standard. Thank. The. Heavens. I did so. I stir them, exposing the bottom of the paper bowl. Low and behold. The bowl managed to be MOLDING, with LITERAL mold collecting in the bottom. You'd expect the food to be rotten, but no. It's the dishes they serve it to you in. Green fuzzy stuff all along that bottom of the dish. Not sure how this happened, but I will not be eating here again. This was the last straw, to many I've been collecting throughout true downfall of TDM. Please fix this, food poisoning is not ok. read more

I ordered the Deluxe nachos with beans, meet, cheese, and extra queso! I also ordered a taco with extra cheese. I received my order very quickly through the Uber eats app and was very happy with what I was given. The only downfall was the taco was made with soft tortilla as and was floating in a bunch of oil. The taco shell was unedible and I ended up pouring the inside ingredients on to the top of my nachos. Other than that it was a delicious meal and I would recommend having it again! read more

Apparently someone doesn't know how to use seasonings at this location. Not sure what the problem is - but I ordered pinto beans (which I've ordered at other Taco Del Mar locations) & these are the blandest most tasteless pinto beans I've ever eaten. They're disgusting, mushy, with thick/slimy bean water surrounding them and taste like they're from a can - without any added seasonings or salt. My husband ordered a burrito - asking for Beyond Meat ( as per their menu ) & he was told they no longer carry it. Why on Earth wouldn't you immediately mark the item off your menu if you no longer carry it? This location sucks. read more

Wow worst experience first of all my bean and cheese burrito was dry it was mostly beans because they charge for a little more cheese lol! Ridiculous, my fiancé got a burrito he barely got anything on there as everything seemed to be a extra 50 cents which is mind blowing, we left paying 18 and very unhappy. The guy helping my fiancé was rushing him like he had a line of people to catch up to, mind you no one else was in there besides my fiancé and I . Two workers male and female. Once my fiancé felt rushed and paid extra for a little more cheese which should have been free for a burrito that size . Defiantly not coming back. If you can't make a simple bean and cheese burrito with the right amount of cheese, I'm speechless. Terrible service low equality food. Taco Del Mar is relatively cheap, but not particularly good. Qdoba or Chipotle are absolutely better than Taco Del Mar. However with neither of those restaurants in Ballard and El Camion having moved into Hale's Ales, Taco Del Mar wins 3 stars for convenience. I'd recommend the steak. It costs more but it's better than the other proteins. The pork is the second best. I enjoy adding lime and the hot sauce, on the tomato tortilla. read more

Let's be clear. This is NOT Mexican food in the traditional sense, it is American fast food in the vein of "Mexican." That disclaimer aside, this location has an amazing, friendly, hardworking staff who serve up fresh, filling, somewhat healthy fast food. I always get the "Mondito" vegan, a slightly smaller version of the "Mondo" burrito. Comes with rice, beans, guacamole, and your choice of veggies and salsa. It is very flavorful, can be spicy (add jalapenos or hot sauce) and it pretty cheap on top of that. My food always tastes fresh and it's a really great deal. Is there more authentic Mexican? Of course. Is this a delicious, easy stand in that is far above other chain Mexican? Absolutely. read more

To sum up: Super spacey employee, low prices, big tasty (vegan) burritos! The employees made it clear that we were ordering a little wrong, because the way we were ordering us cost a little more. I think we were asking for a bigger size or something, and didn't need to be. (We love their super filling and cheap vegan burritos, so we patronize TDM at least several times a month.) The burritos were nice and big. I don't think they were too watery and they put plenty of rice, beans, tomatoes, etc in our burritos. Yum. The one weird part was that one of the employees was SUPER spacey. Completely out of it. Didn't quite remember what we requested or that one of us loves guacamole and the other one loves tomatoes. Didn't even get the whole red/green theme. (The guac lover gets the green spinach tortilla, the tomato lover gets the red tomato burrito.) Kind of an awkward experience, but I think this is a good TDM location. read more

My wife and I stopped here today (15th Avenue) and the food was blah. The crispy taco shells were soggy before we could get to them. I was charged an extra $0.50 each for the skimpy portion of plant based protein which smelled like dog food. The taco shells didn't taste fresh. The fountain sodas tasted "funny". Any way, we will not be returning to Taco Del Mar anytime in the near or distant future. Overall, the food was just okay. I got a chicken burrito bowl and the quality was just very meh. The chicken seemed overly shredded and there wasn't much flavor. I did appreciate the food being nice and hot though (since we ordered via Postmates). I will admit though, I loved their queso. Wish the portion sizes were bigger- especially for the price ($10 for a little bowl, not even an option to add fajita veggies like how both QDoba and Chipotle have). read more

I love their wild alaskan cod fish tacos! I'm something of a fish taco aficionado, and I've never tasted any as good as these. They're so addicting! I normally tell my kids to avoid addicting substances, but we're making an exception here. This location is great too. They use 2 soft corn tortillas instead of 1. They use lots of creamy white sauce and add a sprinkling of cilantro (which a lot of other TDMs don't). They always remember me and my boys, and in addition to having a bucket of toys to play with, my kids also get an education in Spanish and Urdu. Aside from the fish, they have delicious food at such low prices that it almost doesn't make sense to cook at home. I've never seen my kids gobble anything down more readily than their crispy tacos, mondo burritos and crunchy taco chips. The whole meal (main dish, creamy refried beans & rice, with a drink) is only around $5. AND, they use biodegradable utensils. It's just an all around feel good place to eat. Today my friend and I were starving and needed something quick to sate our growling stomachs. Our mondito burritos perfectly hit the spot! I'm not sure if they messed up, but I'd swear that our burritos were bigger than usual! This particular location is nice because of their little outside patio. Today was extremely warm out, but I hate being inside air conditioned buildings (it just makes it worse when you step outside!). Thus, the shaded patio was the perfect alternative. So no, Taco Del Mar is never going to be the most stellar of "Mexican" food, but you shouldn't go in expecting that anyway! If you're hungry, Taco Del Mar gets the job done. read more

We've been coming to this location for years because they treat you right here. Other TDM locations (*coughdextercough*), not so much. I usually have a higher-maintanence TDM order than most, depending on if I'm vegan that week or not, and they've always accommodated my every whim. Not the best use of your lunch money. I thought 8.50 seemed a little expensive for a burrito bowl and a bottled water, but when I sat down the employee came and asked, "Are you going to pay for that water?" I was shocked, but apparently he didn't understand that I wanted a bottled water when I asked for water. Instead of making a separate purchase of a bottle of water I just took the cup. The food was actually better than I expected, but I think paying 7 dollars would be more acceptable for thier burrito bowl. The atmosphere is a normal sit-down fast-food restaurant; cold and a little sad, but at least they have parking. I gave them a 3 based on the value, mostly. The food was not bad. read more

Let me preface this review by saying: 1. I could eat Taco del Mar every day. One time, I ate at a Taco del Mar 3 times in one day (lunch, dinner, and at 2am at the TDM open late in Belltown). I love their prices and food... some of my fave. And, 2. I am by no means a germ-o-phobe. In general, I might eat something I dropped on the floor if it fell within the 10-second rule... I will never go back to this location again. It was so dirty. I could see into the back prep room and saw garbage, and just general filth back there. The glass separating the customers from the food looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks and it was just grossssss!!! My burrito tasted a little funky and my mind went wild imagining why. The meat was old? The cheese fell on the dirty floor? So many possibilities... Do yourself a favor and stop by one of the many other locations instead! read more

Taco Del Mar is the only burrito place I've tried in Seattle so far, and it almost makes an okay replacement for BTB in Ann Arbor. The burritos are big and it's nice that there are four different tortilla options to choose from. However, I find the ingredients a bit lacking. The rice and beans were kinda bland and since I'm a veggie, I didn't get meat in my burrito. The salsa is really what makes the burrito for me. But their pico was also pretty weak and their "hot" sauce scores at about a low-medium hotness for this native New Mexican. At greater than $5 for a burrito, the price tag was also kind of high compared to a better $3.50 burrito at BTB. I haven't found my go to burrito here yet. Still looking. read more

It's Taco Del Mar, no Chipolte, but not a bad place to stop for a quick burrito. The guys at this location are always really friendly, they even gave me my lunch for free on my birthday one year. TDM makes good food. So I am willing to give some leeway.... They are getting to be the Starbuck's of fish tacos. But I digress. Good news: Fast service. (Remarkably faster than Taco Bell across the street.) Generous portions. Willing to accommodate oddball requests. Bad news: Place is kind of a dump. (Which probably has more to do with the clientele than the establishment itself.) The seafood they use is laughably un-fresh. Not that you should expect to find sushi-grade ahi in such a place. But, when you can look down 15th Ave and practically see the fishing boats, it is surprising that they would choose frozen, battered, fried fish filets for their tacos y burritos. But hey, you put enough hot sauce on anything and it'll taste great!
