Super Tostada no olives
Kimberly C.

Sometimes I just don't understand how Taco Bell stays open when there is a taco casa around. I don't care what you order or which one you order it from, consistency is the key and this chain has figured that out! The menu might seem limited, but they never skimp on any of their products and it all is very fresh! Service happened to be a little slow at this taco casa or was it? I mean my mouth was watering from the time we turned in until I got that first bite. I almost gave this place a 3 star because wile we were waiting an employee was sitting with what appeared to be a friend of hers telling a story and using a very explicit vocabulary. I'm not one to care what anyone says, but it did take away from the ambience of a family restaurant. If you want a good sweet tea for a get together this is also your place. They also now sell their hot sauce and they have guacamole and chips on their menu. Yummy!!!

Clearly says they still do the courtesy drink.

No free kids drinks anymore? Since when?! Stephanie says they didn't have cups for the complimentary kids drinks and then says in the same breath that they didn't do free kids drinks anymore. Then another employee walks in takes a fatty hit of her vape and proceeds to pull out a kids size drink. To add insult to injury another family walks in and asks for the free kids sweet tea and she gives it to them? How do I know this you may be asking? It's because I was sitting at the table right in front of the register! I will admit that the tacos are hefty but that price hike was way too much. Probably wont return to this Taco Casa.

Waited over 5min and just watched the employees walk past me easily 30min before closing.

Never again - I have three times drove a considerable distance to this restaurant only to have them close early and not stay open the hours they claim to be open. This last time the employees ignored me at the drive thru and walked by the window so I decided to call and the employee hung up on me when I asked why they once again closed 30min earlier than the posted time. When I asked to talk to a manager I was hung up on and they never answered again. Management needs to do some mystery shopping in their employees for sure as it's easily repeatable. There was even another car in the drive thru ahead of me just as frustrated and circled the building to try the drive thru again. No wonder the south college station store closed if this is how the employees operate. If the owners knew I'm sure this would not be tolerated. I will not be going here anymore. Food is good but service is so bad it doesn't matter. I drove all the way from south College Station three times and had this experience all three times when it's evening and they want to go home before they actually close.

The Best Taco Casa ever! Thee crew was fantastic! We sat outside because we had our dog. They brought him water. They were so kind! The food was awesome! The service fantastic. I love Taco Casa and go every time I see one, none in San Antonio, closest in Kerrville. Taco Casa is the way t*co b*ll used to be decades ago!!! Real cheese, perfect beef, yummy sauce! We are forever fans of this one! Give everyone a raise!!!

Chilada

I think it is a decent place to get some cheap and fast food. Any of those "super" items on the menu would make you feel stuffed. I ordered chiladas, my friend ordered meat burritos, and we shared the super nachos. I like my chiladas. It was a little bit salty but still tasty, above the average of the chain fast food. Nachos are good and fully loaded. The store is clean and their service is fast.

One of the better Mexican fast food joints! I would actually go here again! The tacos were tasty and flavorful. The Delites were super sweet and cinnamony. I would probably not get them again since I'm not a sweets person. The drive thru was pretty long, and the service wasn't great. Prices were pretty good!

Chilada and Super Salad
Robert J.

Salad was very good and filling. The Chilada was exactly what Taco Bell used to call their Enchirito. Price was a little high. 3.99 for Chilada and 7.99 for the salad. I asked for extra olives, which cost extra as well. I will return.

Very disappointed.my super tostada, it's like they thought it was a slop line instead of fresh food. 1st time disappointed.

Good deals, good tacos, but horrible music inside. Use it for drive-through but don't stay inside.

Omg I've spent 20 minutes in the drive thru . For a short menu, they take way too long to prepare food. This is NOT fast food at all .

I was SO EXCITED to find out that there is a Cookshack in College Station!…read more We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday before heading home. We were BLOWN AWAY by the number of college students, dressed in their Sunday's best, openly praying over their food before enjoying some awesome chicken. It was SO NICE TO SEE! We ordered a family meal (20 pieces), 2 sides of fries and a chicken sandwich meal. We paid around $40. Great value! The food came out quick and arrived hot and fresh. I had a slight "issue" where I thought my chicken wasn't fully cooked and the manager reassured me that it was just breading but happily remade my sandwich to give me peace of mind. I REALLY appreciated that. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, literally leaving "not a fry left behind." The size of my chicken on the sandwich was HUGE- had to be hanging off the roll by 2" on each side! Staff were phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Love the laid back decor. Plenty of seating inside and some tables outdoors as well. Definitely recommend!

Really good! In fact, it's a contender for my favorite fried chicken in town. The only undecided…read morewinner so far is Mess Waffles. The Cookshack has a different vibe and feels more like a lunch or dinner spot, while Mess is the perfect breakfast place. Alright, who am I reviewing again? Right. The Cookshack has some great options, and my wife and I went for the Chicken & Waffles. I chose the hottest seasoning they had--pretty sure it was ghost pepper--and yeah, it was spicy but didn't make me miserable. There was a lot of food, and it definitely filled us up. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. Plus, they have large booths, which we really appreciate.

Spent the day at Texas A&M and had to go get Laynes for lunch!…read more One cannot go to CStat and not get lunch at Laynes..Canes and Zaxbys do not compare.. However, I will say that all the chicken tender places since Covid went from their signature large tenders to half size smaller tenders. Not sure why or why they never went back to the larger size tenders after Covid. I ordered a 3 piece and you can see how small the size of the tenders are and I remember when two of the tenders would of equaled 1 tender before Covid. The service was great, the tenders were hot and fresh since made to order and the fries were crunchy. Nothing wrong at all with the service, taste of the food, the only complaint is how tiny the tenders are now. With all that said of course I'll still go to Laynes and glad we have one in Houston by my job.

This is the original Layne's born out of College Station. I was quite impressed with the texture, breading, and seasoning. It wasn't overly greasy and spice level hit the spot. Temperature: we dined in to experience the freshest chicken strips possible. It did not disappoint. I think I burned the roof of my mouth on the first bite but it was worth it. Presentation: nothing to praise but no complaints either. See the photo and judge for yourself. Ambiance: small and cute. Nothing nice about it but fairly clean. Staff: friendly but not over the top. The verdict: Chick-Fil-A is still #1. Then Layne's. Then Raising Cane's. Yes - in my opinion - Layne's beats Cane's. And all 3 are way better than Whataburger and Dairy Queen. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself!
