First time I was at a Taco Casa was in Lufkin. I was impressed with it but felt another location in a more developed area would have a better product. And this one definitely does. This location is what affordable crispy tacos should be with plenty of seasoned ground meat, lettuce, and a pile of shredded cheese on top in the crunchy shell. Think of a more enhanced flavorful taco bell. Every time I'm in the drive-thru, the food arrives piping hot with the cheese still fresh and that nice crunch when you take the first bite. Make it a taco lite to add tomatoes to it for more authentic flavor. Their soft tacos are also quite large and hit the spot just as well as their crunchy taco. And make sure you drizzle on that taco sauce. Think of the taco bell fire sauce but bolder and thicker; definitely takes the dishes to another level. Not sure why the negative reviews of this place as I've never had any issues with the drive-thru or customer service. While they are not open as late as taco bell, they still operate until 11 (don't quote me on that) so there's plenty of time to get your taco casa fix! read more

i went inside to order a taco salad and a large sweet tea. I asked the cashier to make sure to tell the cooks that I wanted my meat heated up because the last couple of times I ordered it the meat wasn't warm. A man by the name of Zeke gave me my food and told me that if I ever came and the meat wasn't warm to let someone know so that they could remake it. He then gave me an extra side of meat. I don't care what you order or which one you order it from, consistency is the key and this chain has figured that out! Never again - I have three times drove a considerable distance to this restaurant only to have them close early and not stay open the hours they claim to be open. This last time the employees ignored me at the drive thru and walked by the window so I decided to call and the employee hung up on me when I asked why they once again closed 30min earlier than the posted time. When I asked to talk to a manager I was hung up on and they never answered again. Management needs to do some mystery shopping in their employees for sure as it's easily repeatable. If you offer deals to increase business, honor them as they are written. Last few times we went to this location it was inconsistent each time. Felt like they didn't have well trained people in the kitchen....or different people in the kitchen that were new and not well trained. The last time we got food, the order was wrong. I have to agree 100% with Alex on this one. Not real Mexican food and a step above Taco Bell. The ingredients are better than Taco Bell and they use real ground beef and fresh grated cheese. Lots of cheese. I had 2 crispy beef tacos and they were so stuffed with cheese, there was no way you could even put any hot sauce on them. I am not a fan of their hot sauce. I went for Super Nachos, tonight. They send out text messages for deals each day of the week. Today's was super nachos for $5 so we pull up to the drive-thru to order. We pay and then they tell us it will be 10 minutes until it's ready because they have to have more time to melt the cheese. 10 minutes goes by. I walk inside to ask what's taking so long. They tell us 5 more minutes. 20 minutes in total is how long our order took. The cheese is 100% nacho cheese you buy in bulk at Sam's Club! Worst customer service ever and unprofessional! Two weeks ago my wife went through the drive thru and place an order. She was in a hurry and did not check her order. The food is very basic: ground beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, beans, tomatoes and for some weird reason black olives??.. Anyways the food was okay, they do not skimp on the cheese or lettuce.
