Takeout review! I was craving some nachos and stumbled upon this place. Well, I'm so glad that I did because the food speaks for itself! El Bacho Nachos with grilled chicken. These nachos were DELICIOUS! The nachos cheese sauce took it over the top but the other toppings and the grilled chicken were all chefs kiss! It's the kind of nachos that you want to share but you're also enjoying too much to share. Al pastor taco with spiced pork and pineapple on a soft taco. This was FANTASTIC! The pineapple helped cool down the heat from the spiced pork but both flavors were perfectly paired together. Delicious! Overall both of my items were excellent. Not sure how it looks in person but the goal is now to visit and grab some more of their nachos and tacos. Packaged well for delivery with a few sauces on the side and a coupon for the next order. 've visited this establishment many times for both breakfast and happy hour, but my experience this past Thursday was extremely disappointing. I stopped by Taco Bamba for happy hour and ordered guacamole and a drink. The bartender was not friendly, and the guacamole was served in a to‑go cup with the chips in a brown bag, which felt odd since I expected it to be served on a plate. While I was still eating, the server brought over the card reader. I told him I felt rushed, and he responded by saying to just let him know when I was done. The whole interaction annoyed me, especially considering how many times I've been here and have never been treated that way. He didn't ask if I wanted another drink, but he was quick to hand me the card reader. The customer service from the bartender was disappointing. read more

Happy hour review I sit at the bar and the service is great! Even got to chat with the chef once while it was slow which was cool. The happy hour food options are filling and affordable. Drink options are standard but you can get a variety of marg flavors which is nice and different than what most places offer. It has one of the later happy hours ending at 7 which I love. You don't have to sneak out of work early to catch it lol. It can get packed so go early! read more

Popped into Taco Bamba on a Wednesday evening and it was super easy to get a spot at the bar. This location is beautiful with plenty of indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We kicked it with the bartender for awhile and enjoyed watching the US Open. The bartender was very knowledgable about mezcal and their selection was excellent. I had the Arabe and the Aliens have landed on a pita and my oh my were both delicious. Especially the flavor profile and spice of the Aliens Have Landed (recommended by the bartender) this is easily my new favorite untraditional taco in DC. With 16 locations across the DMV, Taco Bamba definitely has it going on. Check it out asap if you've never been! read more

After a long shopping trip to Wegman's, my sister and I were drawn into this beautiful restaurant not only because of its architecture, but because we love us some tacos! We walked in and immediately noted the free daily coffee they provide to their customers. They also have a wide assortment of tacos for breakfast AND lunch. We decided to indulge in the Migas taco and the Al pastor (the best of both worlds). The Migas taco was an 11/10 with the salsa they provide as the taco melted in our mouths. The eggs were light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of cheese mixed in. The crunchy bacon added texture and the crema sauce added a boost of flavor. The Al pastor taco was okay, at a 7/10 mainly because It was a bit dry, but still had lots of flavor. The coffee was also very good, and was provided with milk and sugars so you can make it the way you'd like. read more

We came in around 1:30 for lunch. It wasn't too crowded and we ordered and paid at the counter. They were fine with changing some of our order - tortillas instead of cabbage cups for the Jeneral Tacos. We got some salsa from the salsa bar! I think there were 4 options - we got 3, all but the very spicy one. There were all good! I had the shrimp taco and that was so yummy! Seasoned so well with tangy slaw and crema. I had a bite of the Jeneral and Bamba and both were also delicious! The nachos was great too! Will come back when I'm in the area. read more

This place came highly recommended by one of my surgeons..who started to discuss with me how much he loves this place, while at work. The entire operating room was drooling with hunger...and agreed to go to taco bamba one day for happy hour. And I will say: the recommendation was spot on, and possibly surpassed it. This place was surprisingly good..like really good. Everything was bursting with flavor and served hot and fresh. The birria tacos are a slow roasted braised lamb..and was delectable!! Also, I elected to get it "dirty style": flour tortilla, cheese, grilled onion, and sweet chili sauce. The carne asada was tender and the shrimp were a great size and was accompanied by excellent toppings. And the cactus bambina empanada was so tasty..it's filled with mixed fajita style meats...and comes with a great green chile sauce. Unfortunately, this empanada is kinda expensive for just one morsel..but I low key love it..so it what it is! I don't exactly like the location of this Taco Bamba because Wisconsin Ave is always a wild ride, but I love the inside of this location because it's so spacious and the bar is huge. Plenty of room to meet with your friends or chill at the bar. Very clean and lots of natural lighting. I stopped by today and sat at the bar with my husband. The bartenders were so friendly and nice. Greeted us with smiles and were very attentive. We talked and laughed with them and it was just a nice vibe. Our food came out quick, and our drinks were great! The bartender was very knowledgeable of the menu and I loved that because even though I've had taco Bamba tons of times it's still nice to be able to ask questions about dishes and be given an honest answer. I got the Barbacoa Tacos (my favorite taco on the menu) and rice and ate every morsel it was so good. My husband got the cup of bamba (comes with a little bit of everything) and he was highly pleased as well. My daughter scarfed down the chicken tacos and none of us had complaints. You can park on the street or park in the garage for a fee. Pay attention to the signs if you choose street parking because the meter maids love giving tickets in this area. read more

Taco Bamba in Tenleytown is here and I sure hope it's gonna stay because the tacos are phenomenal! While we haven't dined in the restaurant yet, we have ordered take out a few times! Let's talk nachos first! I wanted to love the nachos but I couldn't even eat them because they had specific cheese on them that I'm allergic to. Unfortunately the menu doesn't mention that this particular sprinkled cheese is prominent in the entire dish otherwise I would have made an adjustment. Note to restaurant, people have weird allergies so list everything that's on the dish! Now with that being said -- the tacos are amazing! We had the Bobby Leo, Taco Bamba, the noodler, hey Zeus, Barbacoa, and the mulita de birria! The Bobby Leo is our absolute fav! The kimchi, soy pickle slaw and crispy chicken just pair so well together! It's spicy but damn good! The one that I may not order next time was the noodler. It was so good and spicy but catfish just wasn't my jam on a taco! We really wanted to try the Prestige Worldwide but when ordering only through all avenues (main website, Uber eats) it requires you to make a modification by removing an item which we didn't want to do. Hopefully the restaurant fixes that issue because that taco sounds so good! All in all - Taco Bamba is the place I didn't know I needed. Finally went to try this still relatively new Taco Bamba in the newly developed City Ridge area in Tenleytown. It's got a nice location on that very spacious and landscaped block. Lots of seating inside and out - now the weather is cooler the outdoors patio with gigantic umbrellas is a very pleasant spot to have a drink or quick bite. It's fast casual style so you order at the counter, get a number and food will be brought to you when ready. The menu is quite extensive with many taco and non taco options. We had the fish, shrimp and beef traditional tacos on double corn tortillas as well as the Jeneral which is on a piece of cabbage instead of taco shell. Nice flavors - the Baja shrimp a bit overcooked and tougher than expected but is the most spicy and flavorful. Great to have another reasonably priced taco place in the neighborhood. Satisfied. They are a solid delivery option, and the food delivers. They have standard Mexican fare plus inventive tacos, too. Maybe not the most authentic if that's what you want, but the food is good. The noodler is my fave - a crispy catfish taco with a dill crema. Really good. My number is the that thing, a chicken chorizo taco, and the shell is lined with a green chile relleno. Very interesting flavors and packed with the goods. I have also enjoyed the bobby leo (crispy chicken and kimchi), aliens have landed (brisket with green saucer sauce, whatever means), and my wife's fave is the chicken caesar chavez. They elevate things with the lalo's fried rice, which has lobster, egg, bacon, and some other goodness. Real good. read more

Watermelon agua fresca was amazing. The cashier said she just made it and I can tell it was 10/10. The food was descent could use some more seasoning or sauce but the fish taco was great. I came here for a salsa and bachata dancing lesson they had for September and October. I got the pack the bowl, which was great and felt healthy also. My friend and I also shared the churros, which were great. Service was great. They delivered the food to us outside. The ambiance is great. This is a bigger location than their other ones, making it great for dance lessons. I definitely suggest this fun staple in dc! read more

Its namesake, the taco Bamba is a confusing mixture of flavors that rendered it inedible. I had to dock a star for that. Other tacos were pretty good (chicken, barbacoa, steak). Pretty restaurant with nice branding. Salsas were good, too, and tasted fresh. They also have an impressive-looking bar. read more

One of my favorite Taco Spots w/Excellent Libations It's not your Tío taco spot. They have traditional taco dishes like Al Pastor, delicious churros and quesadillas. My favorites are the more fusion tacos like MoCo crab tacos or the fauda fried chicken, which has more of a Middle East flavor. Tacos cost $4/each, you can have them dirty style (flour tortilla) or Clean on cabbage cup. The quesadilla cost around $8-12 dollars. Desserts are either churros with dulce de Leche or chocolate chip churro cookies, they cost $3-4.50. I love their tacos but after a long day, I really enjoy their Agua Fresca juices and their fun libations cost $14 and up. The real steal of a deal, is free coffee with a purchase until noon. Service is good and sometimes it takes a while to get your food, if the demands are high (weekends are very busy). I got a good friend hooked to TB and she was a fan for a solid 2-3 years. I'm still a fan, go for the tacos and stay for the delicious drinks. read more

Spicy marg was more of a lemonade & the thunder down under tasted like soda..you could taste hints of alch but I prefer a punch than a punch. Bartenders were cool. Alan was personable & attentive. Nice, big space at City Ridge with a big menu and good drinks! 1st of all, was very happy to see that their house margaritas were only $10, which in this area is a steal. On that subject, the margaritas were pretty good although they went a little heavy on the salt rim, but that didn't stop me from getting 2! I got a shrimp, chorizo, and birria taco and chips/queso. The queso was good, chips were pretty average but did the trick. The tacos were all really good and flavorful and the chorizo one was definitely my fave. I also liked how they doubled up on the tortillas so that the tacos didn't fall apart easily. Service was pretty quick and everyone was nice. Also, they had a lot of other options aside from the tacos that looked equally delicious. Will definitely be going back try out more from their menu. read more

I came her for lunch a few months back and the quesadilla was decent yet rather greasy. What was terrible was that the bathroom was incredibly filthy and I almost lost my appetite after going in there. I went in there right after an employee came out and he literally left the sink running and there was an odor like he had smoked something in there. my daughter and I have designated taco Bamba as our new favorite spot in DC. Our server Allen was warm welcoming and had great insight into the menu. The place is everything we missed about Washington DC during the pandemic. Lively 90s hits like Red Hot Chili Peppers and new alternative wrap and hip-hop blaring on an incredible sound system all of the staff were attentive and incredibly friendly with big smiles on their faces. The whole restaurant had incredible ambience with an open kitchen and the master chef walking around, making sure all of his crispy cheesy. Mexican creations were exactly as they were supposed to be. We started off with this insane rolled with pretty much every meat cheese onion tomato vegetable sour cream with a beautiful creamy chipotle it is called the Jeffery and is only six dollars on the happy hour menu. But was plenty big enough for two people. Oh, and not to mention not one not two not three but four different local IPAs on tap poured into a large heavy glass with a perfect head. are the main reasons why I try to post reviews quickly is to make sure that anyone in the neighborhood that was thinking about giving the new restaurant a try will pay them a visit. We are so lucky to have such incredible, ethnic food, and DC and this place is literally the best Mexican tacos I've ever had one fish one shrimp lately breaded perfectly spiced with cabbage on an all, ciudad Mexico fluffy, steamed corn tortilla. this is another great addition to our upper Wisconsin neighborhood. Obviously walking distance distance from Cleveland Park and Tenleytown but even from Georgetown. It really complements Boca El Lupo, which is literally our favorite restaurant outside of il Canale in Georgetown. Please take the time to pay Allen and the team of visit they are wonderful and I hope this restaurant stays a very long time. The floor ceiling glass windows look out onto a huge beautiful park so there's no car traffic with a huge pavilion fountains and trees, as well as Adirondack chairs to sit in in the grass or if you want to bring your dog and sit outside that's fine too. The music on the patio is nice. And then after all of this empanada taco cheesy yummy happiness. You can walk to TATTE and get the world's best Cortada or cappuccino Literally the next best thing to live in Europe. Please visit our local restaurants. I realized that some of the prices are a little more expensive, but as you notice they pay their staff fair wages, and some cases even have benefits like medical. now that Covid is in the rearview mirror. I hope people see how important it is to bond with the community and one of the best ways to do that is to visit local restaurants and pubs and get to know the families that started them. Food is phenomenal but space is confusing inside. Beautiful bar and great margs but also feels like a cafeteria service and setting-wise. Will definitely not keep me from coming here, but the vibe is somewhat unappealing despite a great location overlooking City Ridge and Wisconsin. The bar says upscale while the place-settings and casual service says something else. But, the food is great and if you're looking for fast casual with great drinks it hits the spot. This restaurant should exist in a dystopian world. Everything that could go wrong in a restaurant, went wrong here, tonight. First, the ambiance: it looked like the inside of an air conditioner: the tables narrow, the chairs too high and uncomfortable. The music was 70s and very loud. There was no service. No napkins, plates, glasses, cutlery. You had to eat with your hands. The food was an absolute disgrace. I ordered a cauliflower taco. They took an hour to prepare it. It was served in a paper platelet, and it was cold -- ice cold. It was so spicy hot it burned my mouth. My fiancée ordered chips and cheese. They gave her chips in a brown paper bag, and the cheese in a plastic bag. I swear, not even at Taco Bell are they so sloppy and careless. Things this bad don't last long. Ever in search of another Mexican option we tried this place en famille and all left feeling sick -- and not because we ate too much because none of us finished our food. We tried several tacos -- carne, pescado, and cameron -- the shrimp quesadilla and a salad. Aside from everyone feeling sick after, the shrimp and fish tacos were indistinguishable from each other, drenched in some kind of mayonaise-y sauce, and over salted. Also the place was blasting music - not from Mexico but from Puerto Rico. Sadly, we were going to go to El Presidente but decided to try this place in the neighborhood. Do not waste your money. For the most part I have had great experiences with Taco Bamba and their food is great. I live in the neighborhood and go there almost weekly however I did not have a good experience. I order and while waiting for my food, it witness two employees handling peoples ordered food, restocking utensils and cup while wearing the same gloves they had emptied the garbage leaking bag, cleaned tables and picked up garbage and food off of the floor. I guess they are not taught about cross contamination. I will be reporting this to the DC DOH. read more
