I liked the interior. It has 2 levels. With the lower floor divided between a dance area and a seating area. Has good selection of drinks. Cheese pupusas, chicken, plantains, guacamole. Each item looked fresh. The manager was super and had a big smile. Parking is a bit easier on the 16th street if you can't find any nearby.

Haydee's is a Mt Pleasant neighborhood staple. It's a pretty big restaurant filled with quirks and a great fajita. They often have live music and the weekends are quite loud here. If you want a Mt Pleasant cultural experience, come here!

I had a great experience at Haydee's! I went for an international karaoke night, which often happens in Sunday's. Pros: Audience: Great scene, diverse and international crowd of lots of people singing and mingling. Service: Very friendly servers and bartenders. Not pretentious, most speak English and Spanish Prices: Very reasonable/low prices for food and drinks! The cheese quesadilla was only about $8 +tip and very worth it Food/drink quality: didn't have an alcoholic drink, so can't comment on that, but I did have a lemonade and a serving of the cheese quesadilla and fries! The quesadilla was amazing: crispy, very cheesy, warm and came with toppings for free. The quesadilla was pretty large, too--great portion sizes for what you are paying for! The fries were large and filling! Could have maybe used a bit more salt, but overall very enjoyable as well! Cons: None, really! A bit crowded but not too overwhelming. Also a bit difficult to hear or make conversation with the karaoke going on, but to be expected!

Haydees offers late night Mexican fare at a reasonable price. It should not be overlooked when in search for a place to eat after a night of drinking.

Delicious salvadorian food!!! I highly recommend! A must go to place. Authentic food, from the beans to the fajitas to the Pupusas. Great service, great ambiance! The fiesta platter has a bit of everything, if you're undecided on what to eat. Must try!!!

Three and a half stars for neighborhood grub. The fiesta margaritas are no joke. One pitcher puts me right to bed, but they're definitely a must! Haydee's does a better job with beef than chicken. Sopa de res was excellent, and a large bowl was quite filling; not a huge fan of boiled yuca but at least everything was cooked through. Yuca con carne was executed well (glad to see variants other than pork here) and included curtido. Nachos rancheros were okay, left a bit too long in the oven with charred chip tips. Grilled chicken breast quesadilla was good, toasted exterior and heartily filling. Fajitas burrito was moist and cheesy. Fajita platters are portioned just right for two moderate appetites to share: two tomato wedges, lots of white onion, some green bell pepper. Flour tortillas are pretty plush, beans and rice generic to the point of forgettable. Guacamole and salsa are extremely thin. No problems with the pico de gallo. Three hot sauces on the table, including Cholula. Decor is over the top with year-round Christmas lights and cell service is pretty spotty inside, but there's friendly service, clean bathrooms, more seating upstairs, and a telly over the bar. Future hitlist: ceviche, tacos de carnitas, pork & cheese pupusas.

Delicious Mexican and Salvadoran food! The salsa is not too spicy and the chips come out warm. I usually eat like 2 baskets of chips and I can't help it but damn they are good! I always get at least one pork pupusa, they come out perfectly crispy on the outside and on the inside its flavorful, filled with pork and cheese with the cabbage slaw on top. I'm drooling as I'm writing this. For an entree, I like the steak and chicken fajitas. They give a pretty big portion too so definitely come with an appetite. The platanos with beans is also a must! The service here is great and theres never been a problem. The owner is amazing, she's so kind and is usually behind the bar. She makes sure you are happy before you leave. On the weekends, it gets pretty busy so be prepared to wait for a table. Parking is a pain and we usually drive around for a good 15-20 minutes trying to look for a spot. Otherwise, this place has great food with a fun atmosphere.

The quesadilla was amazing and so delicious!! Alahin was an amazing server and meeting the owner was a treat as well. New favorite!!

We went in right as they opened, on a Friday at 5 pm, and there was already a line! The reservations were full, but we were offered a seat either at the bar or outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we took a seat outside. They started us off with a sweet hibiscus flavored juice as a palate cleanser which was super refreshing. The left side of the menu had appetizers and shareables, while the right side had entrees. We ordered the short rib tacos, pork belly, wagyu empanadas, and seafood enchiladas. Everything had a beautiful bright orange sauce on it and made it look like it would be spicy but it wasn't! I think it's their signature guajillo sauce and it was VERY good, super creamy. Seafood enchiladas: This was my fav. Might have been because it was extremely hungry and it was my first bite. Definitely best when eaten warm, as the cheese is gooiest and the seafood inside is hot. I wasn't sure how the salad was going to be but it added a perfect refreshing and acidity to balance out the creamy sauce. Wagyu empanadas: Much gooey-er and cheesier than expected, but also a hit! Came with a decent amount of beef inside. Comes with the orange sauce and a chimichurri, which I think was a good idea because given how cheesy and creamy the filling already was, the chimichurri was a nice balance as well. Pork belly: Melts as soon as you cut into it. The Asian in me low key wanted a giant bowl of rice with this so that I could soak up all the sauce and veggies. Pretty fatty so if you're not a fan of that you might not like this. Short rib tacos: These were loaded, not with meat but with tons of crunchy topping (maybe fried carrots?) Could have done with slightly less crunch but overall still good. The orange sauce on the bottom had a peanuty flavor which I thought added a unique kick. Also, we were surprised at how quickly the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour. Our server Rebecca was also extremely nice. Will def be back if in the area. Highly recommend all around!

I had their pork tacos as an entree and tried their carne asada. Both were satisfying but neither stood out. I had my boyfriend try them (he thought I was being dramatic), and he immediately agreed something was off, though his tacos were great. We went again another time and ordered 3 or 4 things, but the chicken tasted a bit old, which was disappointing. I'd still be open to trying it again in the future, but right now it sits at just okay for me. A cute place for drinks though!

My husband and I each got the steak fajitas for $24.00 per plate. First off, this is my fajita plate, I haven't even eaten yet, but as you can see, little to no meat can be seen. To make matters worse, the box in which it was sent was leaking from all 4 corners. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were sent taco sized tortillas, not fajita sized, and we were only sent 4. So between two people, there were 4 tiny tortillas to share. For $24.00, I expect to at least have an ounce or two of meat, but our boxes were filled with soggy vegetables, soggy rice, and poorly flavored minuscule bits of meat. I actually had to dig to find the meat. I understand inflation, but there's a difference between inflation and being ripped off or being dishonest about what you sell. I am embarrassed to even be writing such a negative review, but I believe restaurants need to be made aware of incidents like this so they can be addressed. It's possible this isn't their typical practice (and I would hope not); however, it is unacceptable to charge $24.00 for a steak fajita plate that looks like this. Is it because we ordered take out? Was it bad night? Was there a shortage of ingredients? I would have preferred to have been notified that my order couldn't have been fulfilled than to have been charged what we were for dinner tonight. Wish I could tell you we enjoyed our meal, but we didn't. Wish I could tell you that I look forward to visiting it in person, but we won't ever dine from there again.
