We had a wonderful family dinner! The service was excellent, and they even surprised us with complementary drinks and a birthday dessert. The margaritas were delicious with options including mezcal and spicy. The ceviche was fresh and full of different types of seafood. If you'd asked me the first time I came here, I'd have given Laredo a 5 star. The food was spectacular. The vibe inside is just so perfect and cute and colorful. And our service was outstanding. It cannot get any better than Matteo, who was so kind and provided spectacular service. However, the second time was so horrible, I would give a one-star. The service received absolutely ruined our entire date night. As someone currently 6 months pregnant, I'm not going out much. So it was very special for me and my husband to get out of the house and we chose Laredo. However, from the second we sat down, we felt like our server was just annoyed at our presence. We barely had time to review the menu, in fact, my husband had no time because he went to the bathroom. We were asked over and over and over if we were ready until we finally just ordered. My water was empty the whole meal. Our table was so small, I actually had to keep my tortillas on my lap! And no, our server didn't ask to add another table or if we needed anything. My husband asked for salt and to something to make his food spicier. We were told they had nothing. So finally, Matteo seeing all of this (NOT EVEN OUR SERVER) asked if we were ok and needed anything. And then proceeded to get us all the things we needed, salt, salsa, a small plate to put my fajitas on, since I had nothing, water, you know... everything our server didn't help us with. Oh, and as we could hear the table next to us, they were having the exact same experience. The food was very good and I appreciate the vegan menu, but it wasn't so good as to be worth ruining our entire night. IF we come back again, we will only come for Matteo at this point, and that's a pretty big IF. So the 3 stars remain, only for our first dining experience here. read more

I live in Arlington, VA, but ever since my girlfriend moved to Cleveland Park in August 2025, we've been coming here almost every week -- and for good reason. The food and service at Laredo are great! We really enjoyed the cocktails, queso fundido, chiles rellenos, and enchiladas mole. We also each got a cocktail - the paloma was super balanced, and the cucumber margarita was very refreshing. I'm part Mexican American, so my tastes are pretty particular when it comes to MX cuisine - but everything we tried was solid. The space is super colorful and vibey. Great spot to satisfy when a craving hits but you don't feel like cooking! The flavor of my fajitas was pretty good but I was really thrown off by the celery and the sheer amount of it. There was so much celery that it felt slightly like filler which is incredibly disappointing since the fajitas were $25. The rice was real strange and looked like frozen premade Chinese fried rice (frozen peas and carrots and everything). A friend and I visited to enjoy our birthday meals last Friday afternoon. We enjoyed the food, as well as the drinks. This was my second time here and I was pretty disappointed after a magnificent first time. Don't get me wrong, the food was really flavorful, but there were several of hiccups along the way. We started with the vegan tamales. Laredo is an early adopter in using non-dairy cheese in Mexican food, and sure enough the tamales had mozzarella melted into a red sauce on top, which was wonderful. However the filling seemed like it was the frozen veggie medley, so it was wasn't very hearty or substantive; each bite was a mix of just corn meal and peas/carrots/green beans. I wouldn't order again. For the entree we shared a Hawaiian fajita platter. Now the fajitas here are a must order if you are getting vegan food. They bring them out on the hot and sizzling cast iron platter, Laredo chefs know how to season the tofu and veggies to make them really flavorful, and it comes with the works: rice, beans, cheese, guac, pico. The problem was it came with three small tortillas. Given the heaping mounds of delicious fajita filling (stuffed in a pineapple half) and accoutrements, three tortillas was enough for about half of the meal. This felt super stingy and how obviously not conducive to sharing the large dish. When I asked for more tortillas, they promptly brought them out but had the gall to charge extra. Sigh. This was a three star experience, but given that I've been here before and it was fantastic, it averages out to four stars for me. I was bummed the server was indifferent when we told them they got the order wrong ("I'll look into that" and then never came back). But last time our server Juan absolutely killed; friendly, helpful, funny. It was cool sitting in the Frida room in back, and I like that they have outdoor seating. Very grateful that they have a vegan menu and I will def be back. read more

Had brunch at Laredo for the first time and it was great! The restaurant wasn't packed on a Sunday and street parking was relatively easy to find. My party of 4 decided to grab an outdoor table to enjoy the nice weather. The patio is cute and since it's on the side of the building, it's quieter than facing the main road. Most of the tables are covered from the sun/any other elements. Brunch prices are now $38 for bottomless drinks plus your choice of an entree. The service was great! Our servers checked on us often and kept the drinks flowing until 3 pm! There was no time limit for the table so we took our time while there. The servers even brought us some tequila shots on the house. The food was also very tasty. Everything smelled and looked incredible, the portions were great, and I really enjoyed everything we ate. read more

That's a oven roasted pork stew smothered in onions with rice, beans and plantains. It was fabulously tasty and delicious. I loved it. I highly recommend this dish, and this restaurant. Laredo is a small business owned by a beautiful Latina, and it's located off of Connecticut Ave., not far from the National Zoo. It serves Tex-Mexican cuisine. They also have happy hour, brunch and a vegan menu, if that's your preference. This place is perfect for Holiday, special occasion, treat yourself, or just for a lovely dinner out. Good food! That wasn't the problem. 20% gratuity was auto added to my bill (with another space labeled "more tip"). They even charged me for a togo container, wth! Crazy expensive for a couple tacos, I paid 100 bucks for dinner for 2. Fyi the guac is market price on the menu - $20 on the bill. The Decor is fun, the food is a step above Chipotle. Just incase you have allergies, they allow dogs on the outside patio (the patio is tight - not much room between the tables) I will not return! read more

I went to Laredo on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for brunch, it's been on my list to try for some time as I've heard good things about the spot. We had reservations for 1pm and were seated immediately upon our arrival and setup with waters and chips n salsa (which was delicious). We requested the bottom less brunch for $34.99 (seems as though the price increased recently, I remember an advertisement for $29.99) which included one entree plus bottomless mimosas, margaritas, and select beers. We both noted how great the vibes were for brunch. The colorful decor added a lightness and friendliness to the mood and the front patio was well shaded to protect us from the sun. We stuck to the margaritas for our bottom less option. They were delicious! A good amount of strength to them, especially after several rounds. After our first request for a refill, our helpful waiting started to bring us carafes of margarita; he knew we were going to go through alot of drinks! The food was solid. I ordered the steak burrito bowl which was tasty but not extremely filling. I did opt to remove some of the ingredients (just because I'm a picky eater) but I was definitely glad to have the chips n salsa as a little appetizer. My brunch partner got the steak n eggs - she seemed to enjoy her meal as well. Neither of us are the biggest fan of eggs; we couldn't help but notice all but one of the brunch options didn't have eggs with it. Overall, a nice brunch spot that I would visit again for sure. Went to the zoo with a partner and we wandered out to find a late lunch/early dinner. We found this place on Yelp and it was exactly what we wanted. I had the Hawaiian fajitas, which was a chicken fajitas dish mixed with pineapple and served in a half of pineapple. It was an amazing experience and the pineapple added to the flavor experience in many ways. My partner had the chicken chimichanga, which she said was good. The house salsa was pretty normal and not too chunky but snuck up on you with its subtle hear you don't notice until after it is too late. They have margarita pitchers and we got a half pitcher and had a blast. Staff were amazing! read more

This was the first restaurant we tried while on our trip to D.C. and it did not disappoint! We drove in from Florida to help a friend move and after the 14 hours our bellies were craving Mexican! A friend suggested it because they had seen it when they exited the train and said they had outdoor seating. We wanted to go somewhere cute, lively, decent music and food but we got so much more! We started with drinks I got a margarita that was mixed with sangria and joy... I'll try to find the name for it because for the rest of the night I kept referring to it as "the bad b$&ch". My friends frozen mango margaritas, we all thought we had the best drink until we decided to do a pitcher of the frozen passion fruit..... bihhhh when I TELL YOU.... Straight juice. To be clear there was alcohol, but you would've thought it was juice by the way we were drinking it. SO GOOD! And perfect in this summer weather. Appetizer: Queso fundido. Daniel suggested it and we almost fought each other it. Again... SO GOOD! Our entrees came out and we all had mixed feelings: half excited, half already stuffed from the appetizer (okay for three but really good for two I'd say). I had the burrito bowl and I had my doubts (being that the restaurant is advertised as Tex Mex... in some places I've been to this means unseasoned , but not this place...) OMG, that chicken was SO JUICY! I was really trying to finish it but it was big... which is never a bad thing. Taste better at 3 am if you know what I mean. Last thing, and the cherry on top we had mentioned to Daniel that one of us had moved here (I was in DC for the first time too) and he made the night even more special with SHOTS! On the house!!!! So generous. We all wished we had gotten dessert but our stomachs must've shrank on the drive over. Anyway wonderful experience, seriously recommend. Will come back here when I visit DC again.
