I have been a customer even before the pandemic. The food is delicious. Well executed dishes. The complimentary bread is just delicious. Artisan bread slices served with butter pats. The menu rotates seasonal. A few weeks ago, I had their burger $20. Hefty party served with a homemade onion ring placed in between the buns. Delicious well seasoned patty and perfectly fried crisp onion ring. That onion ring was fantastic. And to note, they grill the bun that gives it a slight char and the fries are Belgian style twice cooked. Other dishes I have had here are the pork schnitzel and brined deep fried chicken. I recently came here for a date. We were almost 30 minutes late for our reservation due to traffic. The staff were so understanding, and constantly encouraged us to take our time. Their farm-to-fork seasonal menu offered a variety of options. We ordered the Roasted Maple Leaf Duck Breast and the Scallops over the Mushroom Risotto. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful! For dessert, we had the Meyer Lemon Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding. I could barely breathe at this point, but had no regrets. They also had an extensive wine list with the option to purchase by the glass or bottle. I loved the small, intimate ambiance and got to take advantage of being the only patrons for the last hour. OMG, the Belgian fries are perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside....which pairs so well with the buttermilk garlic dill mayo (and made me want more of that dipping sauce)! The corn fritters are also crispy on the outside and have delicate corn kernels on the inside with a hint of spiciness with the spicy ranch sauce bringing that dish together. I'm struggling with this review...This is a cute, intimate restaurant with some German influence in a quiet neighborhood in downtown. Our server, Jordan, greeted us at the front door and escorted us to our table of 6. She was friendly and attentive. My only constructive criticism for Jordan would be to allow your diners to finish talking instead of interrupting them to take an order or tell us the specials. She stood at the end of our table on 3 occasions and said, I'd like to interrupt you to take your order. I found out later that they are only open for 90min for their dinner service. So I'm sure she felt the need to move things along. Had I have known this short dinner service window previously, I probably would've have chosen another restaurant. When having a business dinner, I don't like to be rushed...scratch that; I never want to be rushed when eating dinner out. Food: it appeared that everyone seemed to like their meal. I had the ribeye. I probably shouldn't have ordered that because the $44 price point is too cheap for a quality steak. The flavor and temperature were good. But the steak was very thin, about 1/2" thick. A steak should be at least 1" thick. Consequently, I was underwhelmed. I started with a bowl of clam chowder. For my taste, I would have preferred more seasoning (flavor). TableVine was recommended by a friend. My expectations may have been too high, based upon his advocacy, for the experience I had. I really love this place. I've been many times over the years and went tonight with my mom. It's a small, cozy neighborhood restaurant that's a great spot to go if you want good food, great service, and the ability to carry on a great conversation with the person you're with without a lot of noise to compete with. After a very enjoyable 1st visit, we visited TableVine for a 2nd time recently, and I'm delighted to report that the quality of the food and the service was even better this time than during our original visit! We tried three different dishes this visit, the Schnitzel, the Fall Risotto, and the Scallops. The Scallops and the Fall Risotto were beautifully prepared and tasty, with very generous portion sizes. As for the Schnitzel, I've never had this dish anywhere before; I found TableVine's version to be exceptionally delicious and instantly addictive - I cleaned that plate faster than Eminem can Rap ;-) Tip: The ambiance here is lovely, so consider allowing a bit of extra time for your meal so you can get the full flavor of the experience. Adding a review because tried 3 new dishes and want to shout out compliments as we had special requests that we had made when we called in for Reservations and all were granted plus some! The new items we tried were the Fall risotto with added scallops. This dish is just unbelievably tasty! Also, the schnitzel, which has been on the menu before was never a top choice of mine, but I tried a bite of my dining partner's, and it was so good. Lastly, the shank was absolutely delicious. With a chocolate flavor to the sauce I just couldn't pass this up! They're a little busy with holiday and legislative parties and the service staff spends much time mixing cocktails, which slows service, but the ambience of this place is so charming, a bit of extra time to enjoy is just fine. The more you eat it, the saltier it gets. 6/10 Clam chowder $11 - You get hit with smell of bacon and it comes out piping hot. The texture is nice and creamy and you do taste the chunks of potato, clams, and bacon. The crouton is too heavy of a mouthfeel but overall 7.5/10 Spring Risotto with scallops: Risotto is rich and buttery. The pops of peas are great to cut the heaviness of the dish. The star of the dish was 100% the Scallop. Absolutely delicious but not sure if it's worth the $18 surcharge for 2.5 scallop, totally the dish to $40. 8/10 The salmon had great texture and I loved the miso flavor. There is a French Riviera beach vibe with the bright walls with blue and green accents cushions and pillows - all very inviting in compartmentalized yet open seating floor plan with French Yacht Rock music playing in the background. Settled on nice Sauv blanc from New Zealand that paired well with our appetizers. List has a great variety of local and international wines from reasonably priced to more pricey ones. Thursday, 1/19/2023 - My honey took me to try Table Vines restaurant for dinner for my birthday. Address is 1501 14th St, Sacramento, CA 95814 in Downtown. It's our 1st time here. It's paid street parking only. It's a tiny, cute restaurant with about 12 tables. Restaurant is set kinda like an L shape. I only saw 2 workers. We met a cute dog named Prince. He is such a good, calm, and quiet dog. When we arrived, both doors to the restaurant was locked. It's for safety reasons. But the restaurant was open. I saw people inside eating. Once they saw me at the door, they did come unlock the door and let us in. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) restaurant looked clean and tables cutely set up. 2) Prince was such a nice dog. 3) server was very nice. Great customer service! 4) tables, plates, cups, utensils were all clean. 5) we got the 1/2 pound angus burger and ribeye and both were REALLY good. Both were perfectly cooked (medium rare), flavorful, meat very tender, sauces were delicious. Fries crunchy. Broccoli buttery and good. 6) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste. 7) 2 bathroom for male or female. Clean. Cons: 1) coke cost $3.00. But, if you want a refill, they charge you again. 2) they charge for hot water. :( Wish I knew sooner. 3) no complimentary anything for birthday, like other restaurants. I was hopping for at least a little ice cream. Lol. Oh well. Conclusion: I liked this restaurant. It was so cute, clean, both great gentlemen that helped us, and food tasted really good. This is my new standard for a moderately priced finer dining restaurant. Although I wouldn't consider Tablevine a fine dining restaurant in the traditional sense where portions are small and value isn't a priority, it is still a wonderful and more than adequate place to celebrate a special occasion. No need to dress a certain way, there is no I made a reservation only a few days in advance and was promptly seated when I arrived. There were many delicious sounding options on the menu but we ultimately settled on the duck confit and the lamb shanks for our mains and the poutine fries as our appetizer. The poutine fries were tasty and wasn't as heavy or filling as you might think which was a good thing. The duck confit was yummy but I preferred my lamb shanks which had a very flavorful sauce that complimented the perfectly cooked medium rare meat. For dessert we chose the banana pudding after much deliberation and we were not disappointed! The pudding was soft and gooey without being cloyingly sweet. The vanilla ice cream was the first perfect pairing to balance out the warmth from the pudding. For 3 courses between two people, it came out to only around $80. I would highly recommend going to Tablevine and am looking forward to an excuse to go back! read more

I came in here for a delicious private dinner with some wonderful people. We booked a private area of the restaurant to service a large group of 10+ guests. Each dish was absolutely impressive from the appetizers to the dessert. I was impressed with the chefs because everything they made, they did well. That can be difficult to find even when paying a deserving price! For starters, the PORK LUMPIA had a great crispness, their chicken slices had a nice crust. Our main course consisted of a very tender, fall-apart BEEF ROAST with peas surrounded by perfectly flavored cabbage. The CHOCOLATE CAKE for dessert was incredible and, surprisingly, I was able to finish the entire slice with a cup of coffee. I now LOVE this restaurant along with many other Sacramento frequenters and these chefs deserve a full house every night for the quality they provide!!! Wow, this was a nice surprise. There aren't many restaurants that serve duck confit, so when I saw it on the menu I knew that that was what I was going to get. It was done perfectly, crispy skin and tender inside, and the summer salad was an excellent match with the duck. My wife had scallops with a corn and mushroom risotto, that was equally excellent. We shared a delicious peach cobbler for dessert too. We were just driving through Sacramento on the way home to LA, and we don't know the area at all. What really impressed me was the wine service. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine especially since I was trying to balance between quality and not breaking the expense account of our lender rep. We started with a lovely Brunello which segued into an even better Burgundy. They must have a chiller on site because both reds were served at perfect cellar temperature. Too many places serve their wines at room temperature, I'm glad this restaurant put as much thought into the wine service as creating their outstanding list although I will say the server was better at pouring the refills than the owner (I guess it must have been getting late because the owner refilled the glasses very full. We enjoyed hearing about the details on all of the options, and we were impressed with the scope of info he shared. For a starter, the special of the day was an INCREDIBLE Moroccan soup. Mediterranean spices, pureed cauliflower topped with roasted cauliflower...oh MY! Served hot and plentiful, if this is on special when you visit, you won't want to miss this. We wanted to try so many of the entrees, especially the duck, but ultimately decided to go outside our normal tastes. Since the starter was so good, we opted in for the Chickpea and tomato entree. On top of a generous couscous center, this was an explosion of flavors... truly a delight. For our second, the Ribeye was a must try.
