Great spot! The food is delicious and comes out quickly, just as ordered. Service is excellent, friendly and attentive. Love the open kitchen behind the glass wall, and there's even a private area you can rent for small parties. Perfect mix of good food, great vibes, and top-notch service. Creative cocktails. I enjoyed a Midtown sour, made with whiskey, yuzu, lemon juice, egg whites, and Chianti - I wouldn't have thought of this combo, but it works and presents well. We went for dinner at around late 8pm, because of the traffic. The house was almost full, but we didn't get to wait. We got a nice corner booth seats. The starters were a bit expensive, but the mains were reasonable. We ordered the BBQ Pork Chops served with grelots (smashed small potatoes) and Club 51 handhelds (sandwiches) with fries. The pork chop was perfectly cooked. Not over or not too raw, it's pink. The smashed potato was marinated (maybe) and the skin crispy, we liked the skin more. The sandwich was fine, there were different meat inside with marinated tomatoes, cheese and sliced green apples. Both dishes were good. Cousin hosted her baby shower here. Service was pretty good considering we were a party of 40-50. Food was great. We had a fixed menu, with taquitos to begin with, popcorn shrimp, and a fresh garden salad. I chose the braised beef option, and my partner chose the salmon option. We then finished off with the deep fried oreos. The taquitos are a little non traditional. Not skinny, but wide and cut up, but still nice and crispy, but tasty. The batter on the popcorn shrimp was a little too thick for me. The braised beef was good, especially the fat parts, but the salmon was even better. The salmon had a nice buttery lemon flavour, tasty and not overly buttery. Consistency of the dishes are a little off though. My cousin's salmon was dry, my brother's braised beef was fatty (more delicious). Some of my beef was dry. The deep fried oreos are so good. Crispy, crunchy, can see the oreos, but not as much oreo flavour, but still really good. Pairs well with the ice cream. Ambiance is nice. Modern and romantic, but it does have sports tvs. read more

Went there for supper yesterday. We showed up at 7 a party of 4 without reservations and even though the place was packed we got a table within 15 minutes. My sister and i both had our eyes on the Lavender limonade unfortunately we were informed they were out of lavender. We then decided on the Tempranillo which unfortunately they were also out of.... We chose this place on a whim, and they were fairly quick at getting us seated. The staff were really nice, and if you feel uncomfortable speaking French, they all speak English. There are many seating options, which I really liked. The food tasted really nice. It was well cooked. The braised beef was fall off the bone perfect, and the drinks were tasty. Just note that the place was very noisy, and it didn't seem like the music was adjusted for the noise level. Very classy and professional restaurant. Our server Audrey did such a good job serving us! For an appetizer we got lobster tacos which were absolutely amazing, easily were the best tacos I've ever had with such a unique taste. I got the Gucci burger. I've been to lots of burger places and this Gucci burger has easily became the best burger I've ever had. I had a medium rare filet mignon patty, very tasty and juicy. My gf got the oven roasted salmon with quinoa and she loved it. We got the dessert of the day, which for us was a mousse parfait, which was a perfect finish to our meal. A group of girlfriends and I went for dinner last night to Table 51 to celebrate a birthday. There is a wide choice of items. I ordered a hamburger which came with a choice of fries or kale salad. The hamburger was ok but I didn't care for the salad as I don't like kale. I feel that should be replaced with a regular salad or offer another choice. The service was excellent as were the pitcher of sangria and apple dessert. The atmosphere was nice too. My only complaint is that the prices are extremely high. read more

Our waitress offered us a great service and was very helpful! We ordered the Steak salad with medium-rare steak, which was cooked perfectly. The Pad thai had a creamy peanut butter sauce and was full of flavours. The hambourgeois steak was very juicy and the club51 was very well seasoned. For dessert, you MUST have the fried oreos. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. I've been to the Laval Table 51 location many times over the years so I knew more or less what to expect at this new franchise location. EVERYTHING in this resto is gorgeous and modern. Seating is comfy and the wait staff do a good job given how busy they were. For starters I went with their Fiji drink and unfortunately it was pretty bad, so I cut off my drank on about halfway into this cocktail. Can't remember why I hated it but basically... not for me. I went with their signature beef and it's as good as I remember it. Perfectly braised beef is an art form and every bite was ravished and enjoyed to its fullest. I had to pace myself as I could have EASILY been the first one at my table cleaning up my plate before the rest of them were halfway into their meals. For dessert I went with their fried oreos and OH-MAMA.... delicious!!! Only complaint would be I'd easily polish twice this portion. :) The braised beef and oreos will bring me back in the future for sure. The price-tag however is indeed getting a little ridiculous. This alone will prevent me from being a regular at T51, not because I can't afford it but it would be irresponsible to pay so much. I came here with my colleagues on a Thursday night. It was pretty busy and the parking was full. Luckily they have free valet parking! Some colleagues arrived 20 min before me and they only got water! The problem was the waiter hadn't taken their drink orders yet. I started with a Bloody Caesar of course. It was nothing special but it was good! We shared some starters namely the Kalamata olives and walnut hummus and guacamole, bacon and cheddar croquettes, popped rock shrimp and the beef carpaccio. The hummus and guacamole were delicious and good to share. It was served with homemade sesame crackers and potato chips. Since we were six people we ordered two servings of the croquettes so that we could eat have two. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and served with chipotle mayo. It was good but I didn't taste the bacon. If I hadn't read the menu I probably wouldn't know what kind of croquette I was eating. The popped rock shrimp was really good and served with sweet chilli sauce but I just dipped it in the chipotle mayo. The beef carpaccio had a layer of arugula on top as well as black garlic, cheese and truffle oil! Simply delicious! It was melting! Honestly the starters were awesome! I would go back and try other stuff. As a main I had the signature braised beef which came with vegetables like potato and carrots in a red wine sauce. The meat really does just like melt off the bone! The dish was a bit salty but I still enjoyed it. I paired it with a glass of dry red wine. I also tried my colleague's pork dish and the pasta dish and both were really good. The plates are a good size for the price! I was so full and brought half of my main home. For dessert we shared the deep fried Oreos which came with vanilla ice cream. The normal dish comes with five and we added one so that we could each have one. To be honest I've had better but at least it wasn't too sweet. I was sad that Portovino closed but now I'm happy that this place opened up instead. It's not a byob but the food here is really good! The only problem is that the service is very slow so if you are in a rush or very hungry I would wait and this place out another time. read more

*This review is a 3.5 * Brand new restaurant which opened recently replacing Portovino's. Extremely spacious, beautifully decorated and wonderful service by the friendly staff. The menu offers a wide variety of items such as salads, sandwiches, burgers, meats, seafood and pasta. I had their lentil soup which was mixed with green peas and string beans. It was the first time I had a lentil soup that was mixed with green beans and definitely not my cup of tea. I also had the shrimp burger which was too thick and had too much mayo. The burger also came with kale salad which was heavily dressed in a creamy sauce. I did enjoy the touch of parmesan cheese. For desert, I had the fried Oreo cookies with vanilla ice cream which was the best part of my meal. This is a great place to satisfy a large group as they have a variety of items on the menu to satisfy everyone. What was a bit disappointing was the lack of specialty or items which they are known for. I don't think our group is the target market for this restaurant. We were a group of 7 middle-aged professionals having a holiday dinner together without the kids. The restaurant - very modern and stylish - is perfect for date night or for an upscale gathering for the 25-35 crowd. We were seated at a table in the center area, and shortly after we were handed our menus, the lighting dropped to practically nothing, but only in the center area. We literally had to use the flashlight apps on our phones to read the menu. I asked the waiter to turn up the lights a little, and he gave me a bit of attitude that it was SOP to establish "ambiance." There is no distinction made in the reservation process for ambiance, and I am still at a loss to explain why only a handful of tables were plunged into darkness while the other 75% maintained adequate lighting. This incident epitomizes the philosophy of the establishment: style over substance. So let's talk food and drink. The cocktails were the highlight: ice-cold, generous with the pour. As for appetizers, the lobster tacos were the most interesting and most nicely presented. The starter salads were humdrum. My popcorn shrimp were very disappointing. If you took a small package of Highliner frozen battered shrimp and deep-fried them in beef fat instead of baking them in an oven and served them with a bottled sweet chili sauce, you'd wind up with this dish. The entrees were slightly better. The meats were all cooked quite well, especially the steak, the braised beef, and the Korean short rib (although the sauce was a bit too sweet and lacked authentic Korean flavour). The beef tartar was just ok; it was a generous portion and served at the perfect temperature, but it was quite one-note. The matchstick fries that accompanied most of the mains were cooked from frozen and served lukewarm. The side salad on my plate was bagged mesclun with a bottled raspberry vinagrette. The best side was the baked macaroni and cheese, even though it lacked a cheesy or crunchy topping. Basically all the food lacked soul or any kind of chef's signature. My dessert was a non-descript piece of chocolate cake with a few plain walnuts thrown on top. The Americanos that most of us had were ok. So overall, this dinner was just ok. I think I would have been happier spending the amount that I did in any other restaurant in this strip mall. I would have had food with a little more character, service that valued customer satisfaction over ambiance, and much better value. But if it's more important that you look young and hip, then this is the place for you. read more

Went to lunch with a dear friend and we were more than pleased with lunch at T-51. The ambiance was very classy with a taste of warehouse, the staff were courteous, polite and very engaging. We liked the fact that the menu fit on one page so everything on it can be made to perfection all the time. My friend has a number of allergies but the kitchen was able make her salad one of a kind. The classic cheeseburger was on point and the Caesar salad great. All in all, a good first impression and we'll definitely be back! read more
