Since my stepson started attending FSU last year, we've been trying out many different restaurants in Tallahassee. I would say Table 23 is our favorite so far. Four of us dined here on a Friday night and we all enjoyed our meals. We started out by sharing the Gorgonzola chips and the spinach dip. The chips were homemade and very good with melted cheese on them. For entrees, we all went with steak. Three of us had the special, sirloin topped with Gorgonzola butter. It was delicious! The place is also very easygoing when it came to swapping side dishes. Whether you're dropping kids off at FSU or just looking for a nice restaurant in Tallahassee, give Table 23 a try. Visiting Tallahassee for work and decided to try this place for a to-go meal. I sat at the bar to order my food to go and ordered a drink while I waited, but loved the outside patio space and atmosphere so I decided to stay and enjoy my meal there. Had A Dirty Gentleman (dirty martini), the grouper meal (subbed grits and Brussels sprouts), and an old fashioned. Everything was so delicious, the bar staff (Morgan) was great, and I met a sweet couple at the bar to chat with. Will be back for sure! read more

Wow - where to begin? We decided to try this place while in town and we were not disappointed! First - the fact that the restaurant was very busy on a Monday night speaks volumes. The staff was very friendly and informative. For appetizers we tried the Gorgonzola Chips (homemade chips, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese) and they were amazing. The homemade chips were great and you got multiple flavors in every bite. We also tried an order of wings (half Buffalo hot and half BBQ) and they were perfect! The wings were perfectly cooked and the flavors were awesome - we would come back just for the wings (which is saying a lot). The bread and butter was also very good. The bread was a yeast roll and the butter was creamy, and salted just right. For entrees - we had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with chef's vegetables (zucchini and squash) and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not a big meatloaf lover but our server recommended it so I said what the heck. It was hands down the best meatloaf I've ever had. Most, full of flavor, surrounded by perfectly cooked bacon with just a hint of BBQ. The garlic mashed potatoes were in the top two that I've ever eaten. Again, a step above typical garlic mashed potatoes! The sautéed veggies were also quite tasty and the fact that they were the least remarkable of my meal yet still very good - speaks for itself. My son had the roasted chicken, macaroni and cheese and a wild rice. The golden sauce was truly awesome - a perfect flavor. The chicken was prepared perfectly and was flavorful even without the sauce. The macaroni and cheese was clearly homemade - very creamy and quite tasty. For dessert (we had part of our meal boxed) we tried the bananas foster and the bread pudding. The bananas foster was good - the flavors were really good but it probably sat too long before coming to the table because it was a bit 'soupy'. The bread pudding had a good flavor, but came a three slices as opposed to the manner I'm used to for bread pudding. All in all, up until dessert, probably the best meal I've had in a restaurant in quite some time (which is saying a lot). We should have stopped before dessert. This spot is perfect for a brunch with friends but not ideal if you're looking to get tipsy. The drinks were cute but lacked alcohol. The coffee had a nice presentation, but it wasn't hot; it was clear it had been microwaved (the cup and handle were hot), even though we were told the wait was due to a fresh pot being made. The food choices were limited but good. The beet salad, while a bit messy and risky for my white shirt, was the standout. My friends loved the grits and the chicken and waffles, which were hot and flavorful. The smoked salmon dish felt like it was missing something, though I couldn't pinpoint what. May have been the temperature of the salmon since the cold dish was served on a very hot plate. read more

I only wished all their heater would "right now covered" outside area more so it's less cold sitting there during the cold season. read more

This place is a really good area to start off the night. It was busy because students were graduating but the waiter was fast and efficient and attentive. The parking is only valet but they vale to people are nice and do not hound you for tip. They accept Venmo as well which was nice. The food was amazing too. I got the meatloaf wrapped. read more

Very nice server. As far as food...meatloaf was dry. Literally 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes. The "warm" cookie dessert was a rock hard, cold cookie with mediocre ice cream. The crème brûlée was like chunks of jello. read more

Tonight we ate at Table 23 and is was pretty good. The ambiance was noisy but place was full so that was understandable. Being so full slowed service but our waiter was pleasant and tried to be efficient. The food was fantastic, my wife had trout and I had the braised chicken, collards and Mac and cheese! I came here to celebrate the completion of a big test with some friends and we had a wonderful time! There is a huge open-air porch that has abundant tables and a bar for all of us who want to stay as safe as possible during this pandemic. You can enjoy the great outdoors while staying protected from the rain. There is also an inside area that is decorated very cutely! One day I'll have to sit in there! Pros-Great food! I ordered the seersucker burger and it did not disappoint. The sweet potato fries had a perfect mix of crunchy outside with a soft interior. I also treated myself to a Berry Bruised cocktail and it was delicious! Great service! We were quickly seated and taken care of. Plus, they allow reservations for large parties! All staff wears masks and require customers to do the same while moving around the restaurant. Room for improvement- Tables are not 6 feet apart when you consider the distance between chairs. I know this isn't a requirement but it's something that I look for when dining out. Plus, when there's room to separate larger parties, might as well! Cool little Sunday funday stop for a boozy brunch. The bartenders were great outside helping us not order the wrong drink.

Went to Table 23 for brunch today and was both a little surprised and a little disappointed. The surprise came when we pulled into their parking lot and saw a very large white, wooden wall cutting the parking lot in half, and reducing restaurant parking by half. Apparently so done else owned the back half of the parking lot and will no longer let Table23 use it, so they put up a wall and signs warning of being towed. So, apparently, all parking at table 23 is now by valet. When we got there at 10 and asked for a take we were told that we could eat if we finished before the 12:30 reservation that they had for the table. Yes, we were told that we had to finish brunch in 2.5 hours. We said e thought that wouldn't be a problem. Our server was wonderful and drinks, appetizer, entrees and coffee/water refills all were served promptly. The biscuits with apple butter were delicious. We both had the chicken and waffles with the blueberry siracha syrup. We've had this dish before and really liked it. However, not do much this time. The waffles were soggy and not crisp. They didn't taste stale, just not cooked long enough or well enough. There was no discernible siracha in the syrup. In fact, the syrup was pretty bland. Which is disappointing as it's been wonderful in the past. And while there were a lot of blueberries on the plate they, too, were fairly tasteless. The chicken, however, was crispy and moist. And the Bloody Mary was delicious. One pet peeve I'll mention is that I dislike seeing staff hanging out together in the restaurant. We saw between 4 and 6 staff members just hanging out at the end of the bar, taking and joking with a bartender and each other. Surely there were tasks that these staff members could have been doing. And, if not, then it would look better if they hung out in the kitchen rather than at the bar. Despite a few misses, we still really like table 23. read more

Okay I've been pleasantly surprised by the food scene in Tally... hats off to another winner here at Table 23! Came here for a corporate meal, so I was able to try a variety of offerings. For appetizers we had the coconut shrimp, pimento and gauc, Gorgonzola chips, boiled peanuts, pickle chips, and candied bacon. The stars of the show were definitely the bacon and surprisingly the boiled peanuts! Trust me, the nuts look gross but will rock your socks off. Not worth getting are The pickle chips which were too thick, and the chips which were just meh. For my main I got the coffee rubbed ribeye which came with fingerlings potatoes and asparagus. The ribeye was an absolutely delicious cut of meat cooked perfectly to my liking (I ordered it Rare which came out rare plus, which was perfect.) The veges were also cooked perfectly and omg the steak sauce it came with was devine. Will definitely be back here, especially for a nice group dinner! read more

Recently enjoyed a Sunday morning birthday brunch here. Our table loved the bourbon cinnamon rolls! We all enjoyed fried green tomatoes. Several in our party wanted dishes with avocado. Alas, they were out. The bloody maries with the full garnish were a home run. Overall, the food was hot, fresh, & tasty. Our server was nice but kept interrupting when we were trying to open birthday gifts. The ambiance remains good. But the establishment should rent an extra lot to ease the valet crush. read more

We look for solid brand work in a restaurant. We knew nothing of Tallahassee. Table 23 is a great pic. This is a great synthesis of design, menu, pricing, portions and service. Major shout out to the staff and management at Table 23 Tally! After 8 years together, 5 of those engaged, we decided to get married yesterday and we threw together a very small ceremony and "reception" all in about a week! I called the restaurant to make the reservation for a party of 10 on Friday. I explained to them what was happening and asked if they had an area away from everyone else, I requested the outside area that you can see from thr street! They said they don't normally open the uncovered outdoor area during the week, but they will try! If they couldn't they will seat us in another area. I didn't care as long as could accommodate the party size! Well, they opened the outdoor area and the service was impeccable! The waitress (I can't remember her name because obviously I was out of it at this point!) but she was amazing and patient and did so well with the two kids in our party! Everything was perfect, dinner came out timely! They even hid our wedding cake in the kitchen and brought it out with serving plates and all! I can't say enough about how happy I am with their service! We tipped our server above and beyond and I'm going back to buy the kitchen a round of beer (they offer it on the menu ). Had an absolutely phenomenal dinner here last night for my birthday. The cheese curds were as good as any that I've had, and I'm a Wisconsin boy. Crispy, but ooey and gooey too. My prosciutto wrapped filet was cooked spot on. Had so much flavor. The potatoes were great and my favorite part was all of the roasted garlic bulbs that were there. You can never have too much garlic. My girlfriends grouper was delicious, cooked perfectly and the corn underneath was stellar. Both the tots and Mac n cheese were great sides. When the guy in our party had to leave before paying, I was stuck with paying and didn't have enough to cover a full tip. The waitress was gracious and forgiving, which I appreciated. This was my first time at Table 23 so me and my mom did a walk in on Easter Sunday. They were very organized in how they handled the crowd and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was kind and attentive. For drinks I ordered a grapefruit mimosa and my mom got a Bloody Mary. For entrees I order the two egg plate with potato and onion hash and Gouda grits, it also came with a biscuit. My mom ordered the fish and puppies which came with fries. I wasn't too crazy about the potato and onion hash, I was expecting much more sautéed onions instead of small bits of diced onion and the potatoes were kind of dry like they were pre frozen and just fried really quickly. The biscuit was delicious and the eggs were ok. The grits were probably the best part of my plate. My moms fish was really good, and the hush puppies were ok, nothing compares to Jonah's hush puppies. I'd love to come back for dinner and drinks as the atmosphere is really nice and the staff is really great. First time here to help celebrate our sons graduation from FSU. Our son and bf like this place so we wanted to treat him. Great atmosphere. Our server, Blade was great!!! Food was decent but wished for a few more choice of dish items and desserts. We also had the hushpuppies, grouper, fries appetizer which was probably the better parts of the meals we ordered. My son's ribeye was a little burnt and fatty and my other son and bf's drinks were very overly strong. As I waited for a spot at another restaurant down the street, I came to this spot and I'm glad I did! The atmosphere was energetic and positive, the servers seemed happy to be there and interacted well with the diners, and the only two things I consumed were very good and those were the fried pickles ***** and the pecan old fashioned **** (poured from a batch, not made on the spot. I visited this establishment for the time in years with my department. They rented the Magnolia room which I never been but was very lovely and secluded. The woman who waited on was terrific. She was the only one that I saw serving our group of about 20, but I know she had a couple team members assist as well. I had the grouper dinner atopped with crab and shrimp with creamed corn and green beans and it was delicious, everything was seasoned well and it was hot! Additionally, I had the bread pudding for dessert. It was just OK. It was packed there. I hear the Happy hour is really good, but I have not been in quite some time. I would definitely be returning to Table 23. The atmosphere was really calm and relaxing for date night. I am not a fan of the valet only parking. This is such an inconvenience due to the limited parking in the surround area. I also had the spike watermelon cocktail but less spicy. According to the waitress it can be very spicy so be careful lol. Service was quick considering it being Friday evening. All in all, it was a great first experience. read more
