    Thai Peanut Fried Cauliflower

No notes. The bar side of this restaurant is way cooler with a dark and fun vibe. The menu is all over the place in an absolutely poetic way. So many vegetarian and vegan options it was hard to decide what to get. I got the Pretty Spritz which was just okay admittedly but I did like how it cut the acid of my dishes. My two food items were the Thai Peanut Cauliflower and the Mafaldine Limone Pasta. Devoured separately, of course. Both were high acid and beautiful. My favorite dish was the pasta which was crisply bright, creamy, and nostalgic of a cozy home cooked meal with a crisp bread crumb that was to die for. Would come here weekly if I could.

I love the setup here of small plates to share, and everything I had was so tasty! My favorite was definitely the acorn squash fritti, but I'd recommend any of it! The service was super quick and our server was so kind and helpful. The atmosphere is super cute as well! I'd recommend getting here early if you want to get seated quickly as it tends to get pretty crowded.

Visiting my daughter in Tally. This place was recommended by a friend. The menu is mostly vegetarian but they have a few dishes with meat. Personally I thought the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely return but probably try the plates for two instead. Service was lovely as well. The focaccia bread was delicious!!!!

Oh my gosh. Everything about my experience was 10/10. There was a 1 hour wait, and it was well worth it. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. I didn't even get alcohol and my drink was delicious. My friend and I were seated at the bar in front of the kitchen, and I really enjoyed watching the chefs bring each order to life. I will definitely be back at least once per quarter to try their new menus!

Update: Date Night 06 Aug 2025 The BLUF (Bottom Line Upfront) | Black Radish was outside of our Top 10 Best Restaurants in Tallahassee and now #5. The Location | Parking is always going to be a PITA because of the odd location. We parked in the lot across the street and had to cross Monroe before and after dinner. The Service | Excellent. Hostess was informative and listened well. Becca, our server, bounced in and out a couple of times, didn't hover, and had good energy. There are five chefs on the board and we engaged with two of them. Mattjew, the head chef & co-owner, chatted us up and told us how they get the tofu so crispy. So cool of Matt to share the intell. Seems like a really good dude. The Food | Sangria (3/5), Zest on the Beach (3/5), Bubble Potatoes (5/5) Geez!, Shrimp Aquachile (3/5), Tofu Wraps (5/5) Amazing (Suggestion: Chop the Peanuts; Thanks to the chef who chopped ours), and Orange Olive Oil Cake (5/5) Wow. The Expense | $103 and consistent for dinner for two compared to 28 Oct 2023.

So, I really wanted to like this place. The service was good I love the atmosphere, the open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. There were some dishes that were really stand out and then others that were just OK. We started the night with the potato balls and the acorn squash tostada. The potato balls were exactly how you would imagine mashed potatoes that were deep fried but the potato itself lacked flavor in my opinion. The tostada on the other hand was absolutely delicious it was beautiful to look at and delightful to eat. Tons of flavor, and every aspect of the dish paired well with one another. Now onto the entrées. I had the ricotta gnocchi and it was just OK. My friend had the creamy lemon pasta and I enjoyed hers more. Another friend had the mushroom dish and it was also very lovely in the way it was plated and she enjoyed it very much. Instead of an actual dessert I opted for an espresso martini that was pretty good, much better than the sangria that I had with my meal. The other standout dish for me was the broccoli and kale Caesar salad. It was absolutely delicious. Because of the care I felt was taken with each dish, as well as the service I received, I will definitely try this spot again because I believe the menu changes seasonally. I want to give this more like 3 1/2 stars. If I enjoyed everything I ate and drank it would easily be a 4-4.5.

Adding yet another 5 Stars. Incredible. We are foodies. No guilt or shame about it. Black Radish has now risen to be our #1 Restaurant in Tallahassee. Both because of all of the amazing flavors and unique dishes AND because they change the menu so frequently while still holding on to the fan favorites like the Bubble Potatoes and tofu lettuce wraps. Our favorite spot to sit is now at the bar talking to Matt and watching the magic happen. Our food was superb. Unique flavors. Great Acorn Squash fritti- sweet but salty with an interesting dipping sauce that somehow works; chicken Asian slaw - fresh and bright and crunchy; sweet potato ravioli - pasta was super fresh; Gochujang mushroom Bibimbap was an amazing deconstructed version of my favorite Korean dish. Couldn't leave without the Orange Olive Oil cake. Ambiance is always really chill and service can't be beat. Keep up the great work Matt and team!

We've been to Black Radish twice, and even though I'm not vegetarian, everything has been amazing! They have seafood options, and the service is fantastic. We tried the Bang Bang Bubble Potatoes, Spicy Ahi Tuna with Crispy Rice, and my fiancé loved the Mexican Street Corn Cappelletti. They also offer gluten-free options, and I love that they plan to update the menu. We've only had appetizers so far but will definitely be back for a full dinner!

The 24oz RibEye served family style is hands down the best steak we've ever had in a restaurant.

We found our new favorite restaurant in Tallahassee. We sat at the kitchen counter, overseeing the entire production. The kitchen, chef and staff were impeccably, clean, organized, and laser focused at preparing some of the most delicious and beautiful dishes we have seen in a restaurant in a very long time. Chef Mathew with his team Meggie and Charlie are truly culinary perfectionists. Truly a 5 star experience. Michelin should consider experiencing this restaurant. More to come....

I'm late leaving a review but better now than never. We enjoyed small plates and dessert at Black Radish about a year ago, and absolutely loved it. This picture of the desserts came up on my time hop and I had to share! While all of the plates were excellent- the strawberry cornbread and chocolate peanut butter icebox pie stood out to us as "out of this world" - both in uniqueness and taste. Definitely worth visiting Black Radish.

There was a standard menu given to us along with specials for the evening. Also notes were wine specials and a decent wine list. Two in our party enjoyed a Pinot Grigio and a Sauvignon Blanc and exclaimed good quality. For starters we got fresh bread that was accompanied by seasoned olive oil and an herbed butter. We also had the flash fried artichokes; recommended these 100%. There were little strips of red bell peppers mixed in and note, when I say "flash fried" I'm talking a lite dusting of a flour batter and super lite fry...no grease. Dinner entrees consisted of the birthday boy ordering the filet, au gratin potato and asparagus. Three of us had the flounder that had tomato confit, artichoke, hearts palm, olives and mandarin oranges. The filet was cooked perfect and extremely tender with the sides paired perfectly. The flounder was exceptional and no plate was left with a morsel to be seen! The dessert menu was hard to choose from but we settled on brownie with sauce and vanilla ice cream and the raspberry cheesecake. Add in a couple of after dinner coffees/espresso the meal was perfect. This restaurant is small but not elbow small. A few tables outside for nice weather occasions and a small bar to seat 3-4 people. Aiden was our server and he did an awesome job; efficient, attentive without being overly hovering with a great sense of humor. We will be back!

I'm a longtime customer of Z Bardhi's in Tallahassee -- I've dined there 6-7 times, and I once hosted a group of 10 there. I genuinely believe in supporting local restaurants, especially after sticking with them through the challenges of the last several years. That's why this experience hurts to write about. I placed a to-go order recently, and what I received was shockingly poor. Had I been eating in the restaurant, I would have sent it back immediately. The Caprese Salad ($16) was listed as sliced tomatoes topped with buffalo mozzarella, basil, and balsamic vinaigrette over mixed greens. Instead, I received four thin tomato slices, four flat, uninspiring pieces of supermarket-style mozzarella totaling less than two inches, and one singular small piece of wilted lettuce. That's it. For sixteen dollars. The Caesar salad was equally minuscule and underwhelming. The large pizza with sausage, mushrooms, and green peppers (with the $2 per topping upcharge) was also disappointing -- most of the pie had almost no green peppers, and the sausage and mushrooms were scattered so sparsely that entire sections were bare. I understand restaurants can have off nights, but this wasn't an off night. This was a clear lack of care and portion control coming out of the kitchen. When loyal customers are consistently shorted on ingredients and charged premium prices for what feels like bare-minimum effort, it doesn't just disappoint -- it breaks trust. Z Bardhi's, I hope management sees this and takes it seriously. I want to keep supporting you, but experiences like this make it very difficult. If this level of effort continues, many of us who have been regulars will have no choice but to take our business elsewhere. We have options, and loyalty has to go both ways.
