I've been coming here since their soft opening. There isn't anything too special about this place, but I usually crave boba all of the time so I still come here since the prices are pretty decent. This place is normally packed when schools around are out, or late at night when people just need a place to hang out. The parking is difficult because it's in Chinatown. It'll most likely be street parking unless you actually go to the few parking garages around there. When entering, there space where the line forms. When it's extremely busy, the line can go out the door. There are about 6 tables in there, and can fill up pretty quickly too. The first time I tried out this place during their soft opening, when it was busy, they would have another person in line taking our orders on a ipad then we would just go up to the register and pay. I thought that was a good idea but I don't see them doing that anymore. The employees are nice and attend to our odd customization. During busy hours, sometimes I would wait about 15-30 minutes for my drinks. It can get a little annoying every once in a while, but it makes sense because they're busy. SO I usually avoid coming here when I know I'm in a rush. Drinks. I've ordered a passionfruit smoothie with fig jelly. It's good. Sometimes the ice is not blended well so there are giant chunks of ice in there. Also, there are times where half my cup is fig jelly so it's disappointing when I get less smoothie. I still order it but ask for less fig jelly. You can easily adjust your level or sweetness and ice. I like getting less ice to get more drink. My sister likes to order the Osmanthus Oolong Tea. It's labelled on the menu as "Osmanthus royal/oolong tea." But when we first started ordering it, they would usually argue with us that it's not on the menu until we show it to them, and they'd still make it wrong. After coming here so many times and ordering that, they've finally made a button for it in their system! Also, one employee remembers us each time we order it. She's also nice and funny. The punch card definitely keeps me coming back. But they started having a daily Happy Hour that starts at 8PM. All drinks (except for some) are $2.50 and foods (except some) are $2.95. This just made me come back even more after picking up my sister from work or coming home late. Hope this Happy Hour is here to stay forever. read more

I say if you like your popcorn crispy and not too salty this is a place for you, especially since the chicken isn't dry. It's a nice spacious hangout spot, with plenty of tables and chairs for you to rest your tired feet while you wait because it does take a while. It's not unusual for popular boba places. I really like the Tiffany blue color inside. First, it's nice to have 2 size options and also the different degrees of sweetness and ice level. They have food items, ie tea eggs, egg puffs, etc. The egg puffs were made perfectly -- slight crispy shell and pillowy softness in the middle. As far as boba places go, it's nice that T4 takes credit card and has a wide selection of boba to choose from. Unfortunately, the boba is merely mediocre, and I say that after trying the most basic drink: Milk tea. There are better places, but it's the popcorn chicken I come for. I love the popcorn chicken and it makes for a nice snack/small meal while I work in Oakland. If you want good boba, you go elsewhere, but here, you go for the popcorn chicken! read more

Been here a few times now and have always had excellent service! I've only come during the daytime so there has never been a line. Drinks take a little while to make, but the time seems about average compared to other tea shops. Food and egg puffs take longer. My absolute favorite drink is the Green Tea with Mango Ice Cream! Yum! It's just enough bitterness with some sweetness from the creamy mango ice cream. I also add egg pudding. They have a large variety of flavors and seem to have different specials depending on the season. I tried the chocolate and Oreo egg puff this time. It wasn't overly sweet and had bits of Oreo throughout. I'd definitely order it again. The only cons about this place are lack of parking (it is in Chinatown though) and the egg puffs take a long time to make (I think they only have 1-2 machines). Although T4 in this location is cheap due to their soft opening, their customer service is not so great. The workers there are rude. They messed on my drink many times, and I had to remind them while they are making my drink what toppings I wanted. They don't ask for sweetness or ice percentage like the location in San Leandro. I tried to communicate with them in Chinese, hoping that they will make sure my drink is correct but yet the service is still the same. I was having maaaajor milk tea cravings and decided to stop by T4 for a quick snack after a Warrior's game. Because I wanted to try something different though, I decided to ask the workers what they recommended. The person at the front recommended the apple slushie with lychee; she also informed me that there were other popular items displayed on the wall. To me, the apple slushie tasted extremely sweet.. almost syrupy. My friend ordered the earl gray milk tea with 80% sweetness and egg pudding. At first, I thought the drink was going to be super sweet like my apple slushie, but it turned out to be more tea based than anything, and I enjoyed the drink a lot. Between us two, we split the egg puff, and it pretty much reminded me of Asian waffles for some reasons (think pandan waffles.. but not really because it isn't pandan flavored haha). The decor inside was simple, and they played a variety of Asian and American pop music. To me, I thought the place was alright. Standard milk tea house. Customize your boba drink's sweetness and ice from 0, 30, 80, or 100%. I like my drinks a little bit sweeter, so I go for 80% sweet and 30% ice. I recommend 30% ice because too much ice and it will dilute your drink -- also less ice means more room for milk tea! Roasted milk tea with grass jelly is my go to and Taro with boba is good too. They have a large variety of drinks, so you will likely find something that fits your tastes. They also serve snacks - I would recommend their popcorn chicken or fried tofu. Happy Hour is 8pm to closing where select drinks are $2.75 and snacks are $3.25. One bathroom in the back. It can get gross at times, so I wouldn't use it unless you really need it. I purchased a gift card earlier this year from this location during a promotion. I was able to use it a couple of times before the store said they can't find the card balance in the system any more. What I would I to say about T4 is that they have a very interesting creation for their new drink which are used oat as a topping!!! Well many other places have done the same thing I believe, but There is a little different in T4 new drinks tho, since they added on Toro on their menu :) that's cool :) I tried oat milk tea and my friend tried oat taro milk tea... I could smell the smell of toro while standing next to my friend :)) I also tried their braised beef noodles!!! New location of T4 in Oakland Chinatown. Happened to be in the area (on a Friday afternoon around lunch time) and saw a Grand Opening sign so I decided to check it out: SERVICE I placed my drink order and the barista asked me to customize my drink (wintermelon tea with boba) with % of sweetness and ice. However, I didn't receive my drink until 15 minutes after I had ordered and I wasn't too satisfied in the service I received. They call out the number when the drink is ready and I noticed the customers in front of me had received their orders. Ten minutes after placing my order, I went to the pick-up area to see if my drink was ready and actually saw my drink just sitting there on the counter. I tried to get someone's attention but the barista was busy taking an order and two others were cleaning up the mess from a drink they had accidentally splattered. My drink was sitting there for a good five minutes before I was able to ask if that was my drink. I don't know why they didn't call out my number once the drink was ready. It's understandable that this place just opened so give it some time and the service process should improve. DRINK I ordered the wintermelon tea with boba with 30% ice and 50% sweetness and it met my expectations. The boba was chewy and well-made and the price was very solid, $2.75 + $0.50 + tax. New spot for milk tea for us. Came here because the line for I-Tea was beyond crazy. But as we sat at waited for our drinks, the line here stated as well. T4 is a nice spot with plenty of tables to sit at. You can choose ice level and sweetness level. Drinks seem a bit on the sweet side, so beware. And make sure you choose a lower level for ice, or the whole cup could be full of ice and little drink. Overall, it's not bad. Will be coming back to try snacks. read more

I waited 30 minutes for cold food, I asked them if they can make my food fresh I told the young lady I already ate some of my fries and they are colder than my chicken and can she make them fresh I even put my hand on them Infront of her. She took them in the back and the cook just put them back in the oil and gave me burnt fries soaked in grease I just tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago this is very nasty and dissanitary I wonder how many other people they did this too because they are most certainly spreading COVID in the building. I find that there are two types of bubble tea shops in the US: ones that use real tea and ones that use artificially flavored powders. Fortunately, this is a chain that was founded in Taiwan and knows how to make delicious bubble tea that's authentic and not full of artificial flavors. T4 does not use high fructose corn syrup in their milk teas and instead uses honey and other less processed sugars for sweetening. The natural ingredients come across in the taste of the bubble tea. They have an extensive menu of different flavors and they are open late. They accept credit cards and have no minimum which is greatly appreciated. read more

This place is tight. I don't care that it's a franchise or chain. It reminds me of a time before boba was "hipster", had minimalist graphic design, and cost me $5 per drink. This has the price point of my high school days at about $3 per drink. No crazy "large as regular" sizes. They have a really large selection of flavors, teas, slushies, you name it. They even have the OG boba snacks like fried calamari, S&P tofu, popcorn chicken. What else is there to say? It's not pretentious like gentrifying boba shops in the Bay Area, which is totally oversaturated right now.
