Beef Red Curry with pineapple added

The service was great - the hostess answered my questions well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes are quiet and we got to seated immediately.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For apps, we got the steamed Thai dumplings and curry puffs - highly recommend. I got the red curry with beef and added pineapple to it...and also asked for it to be Thai spicy. They did not disappoint at all! The portions are great and the food is very tasty.

Favorite Thai place in the area!! Their portions for every dish are huge, and the ingredients are always fresh. Such great prices, and they have a lunch deal too. My favorites are the pad thai and the glass noodle dish. Their curry is amazing too. The staff are always very friendly, and it hasn't ever been too crowded the few times I went. The restaurant is quiet, great for personal conversation.

Tom Yum Noodle Soup (with chicken)

Walked in by myself on a Sunday afternoon. There was one table of two men when I got there. No one else came in while I was dining (except my friend who joined me later). The servers were nice and very prompt. They seated me, provided a menu and came back after about a minute to take my order. My server paid attention to my experience which I appreciated. She grabbed chopsticks when she saw I had some difficulty eating the noodle soup with a fork. I heard the staff speaking another language though I'm not sure if it was Thai. 3/5 Green papaya salad - sauce had a very strong flavor to the point that I worried how much sodium I was ingesting. The ingredients were fresh and the salad was refreshing. 4/5 Tom Yum noodle soup (with chicken) - the broth was oily but tasty. There's a strong taste of lemongrass and lime as well as spice. The soup mainly had chicken, noodles (lots of it), and green onions. Not many ingredients which was disappointing. I am used to Tom Yum soup that has mushrooms, onions, and other veggies in it. Their broth is better than other places though, seemed more authentic and flavorful than many places I've tried in NYC. Just wish it was a little more nutritious. I think the 3-4 star rating on Yelp is pretty accurate. I'd give this a 3.7. Effort was definitely there with the food but lacked a little. Service was quite good and the interior was comfortable and clean. I appreciated the decor and painted walls. If I was back in this area I'd be open to giving this place a second shot.

I've been going to this restaurant for years, and they've never failed me. Their food is fantastic; always fresh & made from natural ingredients to deliver healthy Asian cuisine. I usually order the fried calamari with a salmon that includes an orange salad. It's a perfect amount to be full, and not leave anything left over. If you have peanut allergies, be wary, because they state that they are not peanut free. Fortunately, they do encourage guests to inform them of any changes that need to be made to accommodate their health. The customer service is warm & friendly, however, their establishment is small compared to most places. It's common to have employees from food delivery services stopping by to pick up things for their own customers; this can be a bit bothersome to people trying to eat. This place is best for an outing with a friend or two, not a huge party. Regardless, T Thai sells consistently great food, so you can be assured that you can stop by and have a meal that's filling and good for you.

    Thai Steamed Thai Dumplings

Tiny Thai restaurant next to Belo Bar. I took out: - 4 pc Thai steamed dumplings ($7) for free with a Hungry Panda promo. The dumplings were shaped like shumai and were dense. The sauce they provided was sweet and complemented the dumplings well. I poured the sauce into the dumplings, and the filling absorbed the sauce well. I'd get this again and try something else

Nice little hidden gem! Off the main drag of Washington on Hudson. I highly recommend the som tom! The sauce is very fresh and the peanuts are ground and distributed evenly throughout. Chicken skewers were spiced with turmeric and very tasty! My favorite is that they have Birds Eye chili powder so I can spice it up to my desired level - Thai hot! Check this spot out! Tida is friendly and knowledgeable server! Thank you!

Simple place, tasty food and service with a smile. Hostess Teeda (I hope i got her name rt) is a bubbly person!!! We tried veg penang curry, veg pad thai and chillipaste+basil veggies. Everything was good, but the curry was our fav. Teeda was very clear to mention that most dishes had fish sauce in them. We went ahead and tried it anyways. Just the chilli-basil dish had a fishy after taste. Nothing fancy, but perfect place for tasty hot meal after a long day!

I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

The service was friendly, attentive, and the food arrived quickly even they were a full house and rush lunch hour. Very quick and our server was amazing! We started with mango salad and chicken satay as these were the most popular. Their salad was purely mango with cashews and cherry tomatoes. Their chicken satay was also to die for! It was very flavorful and was perfect and went well with the salad. Their pad thai was so perfect it brought me back to when we visited Thailand few years ago. The crispy pork belly was a standout for me perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with just the right amount of richness. (Reminds me of Filipino Lechon Kawali) The fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and squeeze of lime balanced everything out beautifully. The soft shell crab in creamy curry egg sauce was also a must try! And lastly, we tried their mango sticky rice!! Absolutely no words... IT WAS DIVINE!!! If you're looking for authentic Thai food with elevated presentation, generous portions, and excellent service, Mitr Thai is definitely worth the visit. I'll absolutely be coming back to try more dishes!

I'm surprised people queued and surprised they actually lock people out. They have a policy of only seating whole parties. My friends were literally stuck amongst the world cup crowds in Times Square such that they struggled to get through and had to detour when they did. They have a 10 minute grace period, but my friends wouldn't make it in time, so I asked if they'll let us sit first as long as we start ordering immediately. They said ok as long as we returned the table by 6:30pm. I thought the 1.5 hour seating time was based on when we actually get seated which considers the grace period. Anyways the timing ended up being sufficient. I think this spot is good for pre-theatre dining due to the large storefront and quick service, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here for the sake of coming. Their menu is extensive and slightly confusing given the way they organize by regions in Thailand. I'm uncultured so I won't know what's the difference between each region. It's easier for me to comprehend if the menu was categorized by the ingredients used or size of the dish. Most dishes do not have a photo/drawing included so it was hard to skim through all the options. Their online ordering was way more helpful since it had photos. It was so hard to look for the corresponding line item in the printed version. We ordered: green curry, kao soy kua neur, khao mok neua, curry puff, kaeng hung lay, gai gor lae, and mango sticky rice. Most of the stuff tasted alright without much standout. We requested mild/little spicy for everything and it was true to request. The spiciest dish was probably the green curry, but I think it's tolerable if you eat it with rice. Crowd favorite was the kao soy kua neur which is braised beef with egg noodles. I like how tender the beef is and how chewy the noodles were. My friends didn't like the khao mok neua biryani because of its dryness, but I think it's meant to be like that. I appreciate the spices in it, not too strong but still sufficient. I don't like how they don't have a printed menu for desserts and relied on the servers to recite out what's available. We couldn't hear everything properly and resorted to referencing the online ordering menu for the dessert options. Glad they're the same. Mango sticky rice was the highlight of the night for me. The mango size could be slightly bigger, because right now it's much smaller than the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice a lot. It was hot, fragrant, and not too soft. It definitely felt comforting. The coconut milk on the side had rice puffs (?) in it which gave additional texture.

Following several errands I entered Sala for lunch, table for one please. I did not wait for an eternity for a table or to be served. I was certainty lured by lavish high praise from Yelpers but I decided to give it the o' college. The tables are closely next to seat neighbor patrons where I was beside a heterosexual couple who were all giddy holding hands and eternally doomscrolling on their respective phones. The tables are separated by a transparent partition fends a fake privacy sense. Pad Kee Mao with shrimp $20.00 Mild spicy as it is certainly not for the faint hearted who can intake spicy foods as the fried flat Chow Fun noodles were solid and sufficient for quantity. The noodles were not abundant for quantity as I desired. This entrée is my default to order. It was served somewhat piping hot. I choose to add shrimp as my choice of protein to be included in this entree. There were abundant onions. However, there were very minimal basil leaves and the bell peppers were stump stems as vegetables. The fried flat Chow Fun flat broad noodles is the main ingredient of this entree as the leading role which were flavorful. I truly enjoyed this entree as it is prepared in the traditional way. I did not particularly care for the bits of scrambled egg as I regard it as irrelevant. The shrimp, sadly, appears overcooked for too chewy and heavy with mash texture. I usually do not intake spicy foods as it is not my cup of tea, but I am open to intake and immerse in ethnic food cuisines and cultural foods. Immediately, minutes later my stomach highly disagreed with this mild spicy food and visited the restroom facility. I did not finish this entrée as I fear my stomach will further disagree. Dismay. Thai iced tea $6.00 The only salvation for the mild heat spicy index of my mouth was the Thai ice tea because it contains milk. I've searched for ways to cool one's mouth for eating spicy food which drinking milk, eating chocolate and drinking alcohol are effective methods - NOT water. Cold water is distributed to battle the excessive heat and July 2026 NYC humidity. I am utterly dismayed that food is still a victim of stagflation for Thai ice tea extortionate priced $6.00! Oh! I wished I had carried Altoids breath mints which gets the job of clearing the effects of spicy food mouth. This entrée ate my fill and sustained my hunger pangs for the whole evening. It was served chilled with very minimal ice in a pineapple shape glass. Customer service is average. One of my waitress appeared new and in training as she was very visible to be befuddled when I requested for chopsticks. I almost always do not consume Asian food with a fork as a cultural penchant. However, the underlying truth for reason of this female waitress's wayward behavior is the L.E.P. Limited English Proficiency. I did obtain my sales receipt as a keepsake. I did obtain a business card and takeout menu. Complimentary mints are distributed at the end of the meal. There are two restroom facility. The upper floor is not ADA accessible as there is one short flight of stairs. The entrance is hidden behind an outdoor dinning shed which is actually a hostess stand and can be easily missed. The dinning room decorum is very lavish with wood carpentry paneling walls and including ceiling, small chandeliers, ornate gold beaded wall painting frames, and wall to wall dark wood carpentry paneling in the bathroom. The bathroom door handle is a ornate duck object. There is a Dyson hand dryer. Sala Thai Restaurant is located at 307 Amsterdam Avenue (at West 74th and 75th Streets) in Upper West Side, Manhattan, NYC. It is very accessible via MTA NYC Transit 1, 2, 3 local trains at 72nd Street subway station and B, C local trains at 72nd Street Central Park West followed by a reasonable walk.
