pad thai, duck in pineapple curry
    Sophia W.

Favorite Thai place in the area!! Their portions for every dish are huge, and the ingredients are always fresh. Such great prices, and they have a lunch deal too. My favorites are the pad thai and the glass noodle dish. Their curry is amazing too. The staff are always very friendly, and it hasn't ever been too crowded the few times I went. The restaurant is quiet, great for personal conversation.

Tom Yum Noodle Soup (with chicken)

Walked in by myself on a Sunday afternoon. There was one table of two men when I got there. No one else came in while I was dining (except my friend who joined me later). The servers were nice and very prompt. They seated me, provided a menu and came back after about a minute to take my order. My server paid attention to my experience which I appreciated. She grabbed chopsticks when she saw I had some difficulty eating the noodle soup with a fork. I heard the staff speaking another language though I'm not sure if it was Thai. 3/5 Green papaya salad - sauce had a very strong flavor to the point that I worried how much sodium I was ingesting. The ingredients were fresh and the salad was refreshing. 4/5 Tom Yum noodle soup (with chicken) - the broth was oily but tasty. There's a strong taste of lemongrass and lime as well as spice. The soup mainly had chicken, noodles (lots of it), and green onions. Not many ingredients which was disappointing. I am used to Tom Yum soup that has mushrooms, onions, and other veggies in it. Their broth is better than other places though, seemed more authentic and flavorful than many places I've tried in NYC. Just wish it was a little more nutritious. I think the 3-4 star rating on Yelp is pretty accurate. I'd give this a 3.7. Effort was definitely there with the food but lacked a little. Service was quite good and the interior was comfortable and clean. I appreciated the decor and painted walls. If I was back in this area I'd be open to giving this place a second shot.

    Thai Steamed Thai Dumplings

Tiny Thai restaurant next to Belo Bar. I took out: - 4 pc Thai steamed dumplings ($7) for free with a Hungry Panda promo. The dumplings were shaped like shumai and were dense. The sauce they provided was sweet and complemented the dumplings well. I poured the sauce into the dumplings, and the filling absorbed the sauce well. I'd get this again and try something else

I've been going to this restaurant for years, and they've never failed me. Their food is fantastic; always fresh & made from natural ingredients to deliver healthy Asian cuisine. I usually order the fried calamari with a salmon that includes an orange salad. It's a perfect amount to be full, and not leave anything left over. If you have peanut allergies, be wary, because they state that they are not peanut free. Fortunately, they do encourage guests to inform them of any changes that need to be made to accommodate their health. The customer service is warm & friendly, however, their establishment is small compared to most places. It's common to have employees from food delivery services stopping by to pick up things for their own customers; this can be a bit bothersome to people trying to eat. This place is best for an outing with a friend or two, not a huge party. Regardless, T Thai sells consistently great food, so you can be assured that you can stop by and have a meal that's filling and good for you.

Nice little hidden gem! Off the main drag of Washington on Hudson. I highly recommend the som tom! The sauce is very fresh and the peanuts are ground and distributed evenly throughout. Chicken skewers were spiced with turmeric and very tasty! My favorite is that they have Birds Eye chili powder so I can spice it up to my desired level - Thai hot! Check this spot out! Tida is friendly and knowledgeable server! Thank you!

    Veg penang curry

Simple place, tasty food and service with a smile. Hostess Teeda (I hope i got her name rt) is a bubbly person!!! We tried veg penang curry, veg pad thai and chillipaste+basil veggies. Everything was good, but the curry was our fav. Teeda was very clear to mention that most dishes had fish sauce in them. We went ahead and tried it anyways. Just the chilli-basil dish had a fishy after taste. Nothing fancy, but perfect place for tasty hot meal after a long day!

    Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken

Tried T Thai for the first time over the weekend and I'm impressed! Love me some filling, affordable Thai food. Our order was delivered before our estimated delivery time, too. - Steamed Thai dumplings: Four dumplings per order, good appetizer size. Steamed perfectly and packed with chicken and veggies! - Chicken pad Thai: I order Pad Thai pretty often and have to say this was an especially flavorful dish. I really hate bland pad thai or one that's heavier on the noodles vs. the chicken and veggies, so this was perfect. I had leftovers for the next day too! - Chicken fried rice: This was the only item that I wasn't crazy about. There were chunks of mushed tomato in the dish, which isn't typical of the fried rice dishes I usually order. My husband liked it, however, so maybe just a personal preference. - Beef with rice noodles and broccoli: My husband ordered this as his main dish and said the beef was perfectly tender and that the sauce was savory without overpowering the dish. I snuck a few bites and may have to order this as my main dish next time!

"Chicken" Skewers was what I ordered off Uber eats. The receipt they attached did not specify it was chicken and only wrote "satay"
    Erin M.

Let me just preface this by saying this was one of my favorite Thai spots around. But what a terrible experience. Ordered Chicken Skewers with peanut sauce via Uber eats last night. I took one bite and knew it didn't taste like chicken. It was flaky like fish, tasted of pork, was fatty and also very chewy. Whatever this is looks extremely undercooked while also tasting tough and rubbery like it was over cooked. I'll let everyone decide what this is cause it is certainly not chicken. Anyway, I've been sick since 4 AM, non stop vomiting. Guess it's time to find a new Thai spot.

The order took about an hour to arrive, which was longer than predicted, so that was irritating, but the food was great! We started by sharing the Curry Puff appetizer, which came with 5 of the fried dumplings! It was a very generous amount, and the stuffing of curried chicken, potatoes, onions and carrots was phenomenal! Their curry sauce was so aromatic, sweet, and flavorful. The puffs were deep-fried, though, so, naturally, there was some grease. For my entree, I ordered the Pad See Ew with Chicken. I thought their version was very well-executed. It was more savory than it was sweet, and the broccoli was fresh and crisp. I will say that the chicken was rather dry, but, otherwise, it was good a meal. I heard positive reviews about the Drunken Noodles with Chicken as well, though specifying "Hot" as the spice level meant it came with a ton of visible chilis, so beware that they are very serious about their heat! I was glad that we added Roi Siam back into our Thai food delivery rotation, and we will definitely be ordering from them again!

I came here with a group of six on a weeknight with no reservations. We were seated immediately on the second floor. The restaurant had a chic, sophisticated interior, with black and gold accents and wood furniture. A large spiral fringe chandelier hung from the ceiling. While the environment indeed was upscale, the food still retained that cozy, home-cooked element known to Thai cuisine. I split the short rib curry and pork cheek with my husband. The curry was creamy with a kick of heat. The beef pull-apart tender. I'm salivating just thinking about it now. The pork cheek was delicious as well. It had the taste and texture of pork belly, which paired splendidly with the sweet and tangy fish sauce it came with. Others from my party ordered the masaman curry and a type of noodle (I think it was the pad kee mao?), and they all approved of their dishes. The drinks were wonderful as well, so distinctly Thai and inventive. I highly doubt you'll find anything here that isn't excellent.

Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.

Considering the hectic 48hrs of non-stop traveling and celebrations, I would've been satisfied with a simple takeout meal to end the weekend but to my surprise, one of the best experiences of the trip was yet to come. Thankfully I was blessed with great friends to recommend this exceptional establishment known as Mitr Thai in Midtown Manhattan. Though the trip was centered around a wedding, my experience here instantly became the highlight of my trip to the City. One very genuine friend arranged this dinner, making a reservation for 3 for 7:30pm. To our surprise, we actually made it from Connecticut, walked from Grand Central and to Mitr Thai at 7:25pm even though they won't seat you until your entire party is there. After passing through the scaffolding, the restaurant has a two-door entry, one host after another, leading to a quaint but alluring lobby area. We were greeted by both hosts even though we were bogged down with luggage. The space was welcoming and had a sense of elegance as there was a blend of hardwood furnishings, low lighting and a heavy dose of Thai art/fixtures. For context: Labor Day Monday, at 7-8pm, there was a steady demand as the waiting bench remained full. There were even guests standing but even as more people came in, people were being seated at a consistent rate. Our 3rd friend arrived closer to 8pm and we were seated immediately. Our bags were placed in a small room behind the host podium and we were seated 20-30 meters from the door along the wall facing the bar. The menus were very comprehensive: large, descriptive and filled with graphics that left me wondering if I could try it all. I couldn't praise our server (Mindy) enough. She knew the kitchen, bar and any/all offerings like her own name. She had individual recommendations for each of us AND ADDITIONAL OPTIONS. I listened, ordered the Short Rib Prik Kang and indulged in a Verdant Whisper (Tequila, Cucumber, Lime). I'm not sure how but our food arrived less than 15mins later! The short rib looked good enough to make the entire restaurant jealous: the curry paste glistened in the light, the aroma called my name while the garnishes winked at me. To my disbelief, as good as it looked, it tasted even better! The sauce was robust, smooth, creamy & just spicy enough. Since the ribs slid off the bone, I mixed in the white mixed rice and ate it as a meal. I can proudly say I've never had anything like it. Oh yeah, the cocktail? Smooth, refreshing and relaxing. Worth every penny. I was elated with the overall experience and chose to pay for both of my friend's meals. My only regret is not having more to tip! Mindy gave us the table to chat for another 30mins but in the back of my mind I was still enamored from the meal. I had no expectations when I entered Mitr Thai but I left with a sincere amount of praise and admiration. From cuisine to the hospitality down to the furnishings, dining here was one of the best overall experiences I've had in YEARS. I cannot say enough about this establishment and I hope they Always Strive & Prosper.

For takeout a couple weeks ago I ordered: - RATCHABURI PORK & CRAB DRY NOODLES $22 handmade egg noodles, roasted pork, crab meat, yu choy, scallion: tasty, the noodles were a good texture not too soggy or firm, roasted pork and crab were fair portions. The soup is savory and light. A solid meal! - AYUTTHAYA BOAT NOODLE SOUP $23 thin rice noodles, braised beef, beef loin, meatballs, beef tendon, water spinach, basil, cilantro, beansprouts and cow blood cinnamon beef broth: there's a note "not recommend for novices-please no returns" which is for those that aren't familiar with this type of meaty, slightly earthy flavor. For those uninitiated, It sounds more exotic than it is--really it's very delicious! I would prefer a bit more noodles and think it's probably be better eaten hot in person at the restaurant. The whole dish was overall light--rice noodles, raw herbs, sliced beef, with a medium spicy kick from the soup. Note that medium spicy is still pretty spicy so take that into account! I didn't have any issues with timing of my take out, it took about 25 minutes for food to be ready.
