What was especially upsetting was the way customers were treated differently. I felt that white customers who arrived after me were helped before I was, while my presence and concerns were largely ignored. Whether intentional or not, the difference in treatment made me feel disrespected and unwelcome. I expect Apple employees to treat every customer with the same level of courtesy, attention, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at this store. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into how customers are being treated.

On my last and most recent visit to this particular store, I was happy to find it my experiences to be somewhat pleasant and that's saying a lot! Last night we went in because someone stole my husband's cell phone. (insert *sad* face) He arrived about 15 minutes before I did and was waiting near the front of the store when I walked in checking out their phone case options. There was a woman that greeted me and knowing their system, I informed her that I was with "him", pointing to my husband and assumed he had already checked in. Then looked up to find his name wasn't on the screen. It turns out that no one greeted him when he walked in. I looked at him and asked the girl why no one greeted him and she said, "I just walked away from the door for maybe 30 seconds" to which my husband informed her that he saw her standing in the back of the store talking with another associate for about the length of time he was in the store. She was embarrassed because he called her out and she couldn't deny the facts. Needless to say, we were not off to a good start. Enter Alyssa. Alyssa greeted us and we talked about what kind of iPhone options he has. AT&T is smart. They have made it so that the only iPhone 4's they have in store are 8GB which no one wants, so you are better off just getting the 5C and calling it a day. Which is exactly what we ended up doing. Thankfully, they have a new program called AT&T Next which allows you to pay off your phone on terms with no interest over 26 months and you can even upgrade after 12 or 18 months depending on how you set it up your plan. They recently started offering the same program for their iPads as well. Nice way to allow people to get the gadgets they want and be able to afford them, AT&T. Well done! Overall, our experiences have been hit or miss. I have learned that if you have an issue with your account, dealing with a manager directly is the way to go. They can get sh!t done! I am a loyal AT&T-user and will probably be for life.

Fast forward, Yooyoo (I think that's his name) was extremely insightful when we finally decided to ask a few questions that in the end led to a final purchase of the Osmo Pocket 3! My wife was extremely excited. Yooyoo looks like a very young Kenny G (look it up). Very relaxed, knowledgeable and doesn't come across as a rep that's hungry for a sale on a Sunday afternoon. Although we live in the city, I'd definitely make the 40 minute drive back to Schaumburg for the great service. My humble opinion.... I do feel as a customer, it does work better for me when I have a purpose. Then at least your asking questions based on intent rather than just simply browsing... which is totally fine as well. Just be ready for multiple reps coming at you in every department. Long story short, walked away with a great and grateful experience! The cell phone case was on sale but it but I realized that that I something was off after I paid for all of my items. Sure enough, I didn't get the sale price and they did not void the transaction and I had to go to the customer service desk which was right was right a few steps away from the register where I just bought my stuff. At the customer service desk, I told the lady standing there that i was overcharged and told her the actual sale price and she said that the sale price I stated did not show up in her system. She then said it was I that HAD TO PROVE what the sale price was by going back to the department and taking a photo and show her the sale price. No call back to a store associate. No, it was me that had to prove it. A deceptive sale and I had to prove that they overcharged me. So I did by going back and taking that photo. So I came back moments later and she was helping someone else. Then another customer service dude (who had witnessed the previous encounter) was now helping me. I clearly stated I was not only returning the cellphone case but everything due to the hassle and deception. But now for the last burn he said, "WOULD YOU LIKE A STORE GIFT CARD INSTEAD?" Seriously? I kid you not. How many people are not getting the sales price? How many elderly people are being coerced into getting gift cards faulty items or just purchases like mine? Straight from check out?
