Since I got a quote online, I went in knowing what plan I wanted, the phones, and knew the pricing. The manager did not want me to get the plan I asked for. I was very clear of what I wanted but I had to repeatedly tell him this. I had to keep telling him I was sure of the plan I wanted because he kept insisting I take the higher priced plan. He proceeded to start the process to sign me up, and when he gave me the quote and paperwork, it was made out to the most expensive plan and with a tablet I did not ask for, need, or want along with watches that I also did not want. I told him AGAIN that the plan he kept talking to me about was not the plan I wanted. I wanted the most "affordable" plan they have. I told him to please redo the paperwork to reflect the plan that I told him I wanted over ten times and to take out the tablet and other crap he added that i didn't want. He told me he would not do it for the plan I wanted. This is predatory behavior and I would not recommend anyone come to Verizon. He obviously wanted to make a sale and only cared about the sale and what he needed as an employee. He did not care for me at all as a customer or my needs. He understood exactly what I was asking for and what I wanted. But he decided to ignore me and my needs as a customer so that he could meet his goals. Imagine what he does to elder people or those not knowledgeable with this type of behavior or those who don't pay attention. NOT OKAY!!

I pushed back, showed the fine print online that said nothing about being online only and they still wouldn't do the trade in for me. My mom needed the new phone so she went through with the purchase in store, and we were under the impression we'd get the trade in value as stated earlier. The transaction is over, phones are switched and the sales associate says "ok you can take your old phone we don't need it", so we didn't even get the trade in value from it. Later that same day I'm trying to do the online order for my phone, and I go to a different ATT store just down the road in Wallingford to ask a quick question, tell him what the sales associate told me up the road, and he said your phone has over $800 trade in value, even in store! So he did the upgrade for me right then and there. Feel bad for my mom because she could have saved a lot of money if we just left the store and went to a different store without lying associates.

My other brother who is Autistic was taken advantage of by a former employee who sold him multiple lines and services he didn't need and costing him thousands before it was discovered when he became ill. AT&T corporate has made getting his money back very complicated and difficult. When I discovered what had happened and called AT&T, I was given the run around by several AT&T customer reps so I went to the store where the fraud began. The manager and sales associate responsible are no longer there but I was lucky enough to meet Brittney, a manager there who met with us a few times and had the same frustrations trying to navigate the situation. She was kind, concerned and put helping us over any other considerations. She made several calls to help us access my brother's account and explained what to expect. A few days later when I stopped in with more questions, she first asked about my brother's condition, and continued to help us as much as she could compared to corporate who only made things harder.
