Stopped by for a late lunch during our day trip to Brugge. There were to different set-lunch menus offered. Both offered a appetizer, entree, and dessert. Both price levels offered different selections which I liked a lot. We got a 15.90€ option with mussels in cream sauce, panseared salmon, and ice cream along with a 20.95€ option with soup of the day, stewed beef, and a slice of cake.
The soup of the day was tomato soup. It was thick and hearty and you can tell it was made with real vegetables. The mussels in cream sauce was flavorful and fresh.
The salmon was fresh and tasty. The bernaise sauce it was served with added a nice touch. The stewed beef was flavorful and tender but seemed a bit dry to me (if that even makes sense). Both entrees were served with a small salad and plenty of fries (which was amazing).
The ice cream was, well, ice cream but the slice of cake was delicious! Layers of chocolate, cake, and what tasted like a mixed nut cream was amazing - not too sweet and not too heavy.
I would recommend this place for the value of the food but if you're in a rush, this may not be the place for you. Lunch took a little over an hour - we got there at 2pm and did not finish until 3:10pm. We are pretty quick diners. Service was good despite the speed. read more
