As others have said- it's not a sit down establishment. You order at the window and it was a card only payment, no cash. There seems to always be a long line. However do not let this deter you. They are highly efficient and have a system therefore the wait goes fast. Just be sure to be situationally aware. It's along a busy street where a lot of horse carriage rides transit, so don't hang out in the street. Also, be mindful to step aside once you place your order (probably to the left facing the order window, but do not block the walkway that allows the employees to deliver your order. They call out your number and it's hot and fresh. There was no room to sit on the steps/stoops so I stood and enjoyed my waffle. Personally, I feel like one Belgian waffle is sufficient to share between 2 people because it's rich and really sweet if you get the chocolate one. While I enjoyed it and the presentation was excellent, the waffle was very dense and really chewy. But I think that's how they are since it's made from yeast based dough. It's definitely worth the try, just too sweet and too chewy for my preference. Staff were very friendly and kind as well!!
We tried a total of 5 waffle places - 4 Liege waffles and 1 Brussels waffle. We tried three of these places in Bruges and this is my favorite waffle place in terms of waffle (not topping). We got the waffle with chocolate. The chocolate is too milky and sweet, so I would skip it next time and just get it plain. The waffle is freshly made. It's soft and molten on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. It's a delicious treat after climbing the Belfrey. There is no place to sit inside the store, but you can hold and eat your waffle. There is always a short (~3 people) line, but I guess it's popular enough that nearby stores have posters asking you not to eat waffles in front of their stores lol.

The waffles were good. The service was terrible. They overcharged us and put in multiple orders of the same thing. And then why we got the receipt and saw it and told them they refused to refund us. After a lot of back and forth they finally agreed to refund us, but just asked us to leave our name so their owner can process it. The refund was never processed and we had to file a dispute with our credit card.
You must stop and get a Belgium waffle while in Belgium, and this is a worthy stop. Waffle was tasty, and the toppings were great. They are baked on site and served warm and tasty.
It's a hole in the wall Belgian waffle place. We got the Belgian waffle with chocolate sauce on top. Very delicious and the waffle was freshly made. I would come back if I'm in Brugge again.
This is a must do in Bruges for delicious authentic Belgian waffles! They have a small variety of options to choose from. The dough is clean and decadent and the toppings are also incredibly delicious!

I visited Bruges, a beautiful medieval city in Belgium. I was eager to try a Belgian waffle and found a place in the center of town. I chose the classic item--a waffle topped with strawberries and chocolate. The waffle itself was good, and while the chocolate sauce was quite sweet, it was delicious. The strawberries were also very sweet and not sour at all! I was very satisfied with the Belgian waffle and really enjoyed it. It was definitely worth experiencing this quintessential Belgian comfort food.

When we got off the taxi we started walking around the square and stumbled upon this spot. Once in front of it I googled real quick best waffles in the city and this place was on the list. So instead of wasting time walking around we got right to business and ordered two of them. I was with my boss and we opted for sharing two different options. The first one was a waffle with milk chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream, the second one was a waffle with caramel on top and whipped cream. The lady at the stand was making them fresh to order. She was super efficient, patient, and kind. The establishment is a little window, you cannot sit inside but don't worry there is a stoop right across the way where we sat and enjoyed ours. We tried both of them and shared them both equally. The strawberry and milk chocolate one was my favorite because the strawberries added such a freshness to the dish and it made it not so sweet. However, the caramel was a close competitor because it was fresh and simple and delicious. I would highly recommend this spot and the pro tip is to sit on the steps in front and just enjoy the waffle.
When in Belgium you must have waffles! Fantastic fruit toppings, delicious whipped cream and the waffles were very flavorful. This is a walk up shop so you'll be walking and eating or find a seat a the plaza.

Love Belgium chocolate! Excellent place to get the hot chocolate fixed, their hot chocolate was so creamy, buttery and delicious. 5/5 Big fan! They also sell Belgium waffles and ice cream too. We had the strawberries whipped cream Belgium chocolate waffle. Strawberries were fresh, but I wish it could have more chocolate and the handmade waffle could be more crispy. Location is good too, it's a small shop located in the heart of the Bruges old town. Mostly for grab and go. Easy to find, you can't miss it. It was a little bit of a wait, but overall it was a good treat on a cold winter day. Worth a try!

This is an excellent takeaway waffles stand with many different topping combinations consisting of strawberries, caramel, whipped cream, and chocolate. I even asked them to make a combination that is not listed (cherries and chocolate).and they obliged. The waffles are liege waffles, so they are on the sweet side, but I felt like the sweetness was mild and balanced enough for the toppings. The waffles are grilled crispy on the outside and held up its shape when toppings are piled on top. It is one of the best liege waffles I have had. read more
We spent one day in Belgium on our trip to Europe, decided to go to Bruges for the day, and went back to Chez Albert MULTIPLE times just because of how good these waffles were. The strawberries are SO fresh and compliment the warm, fluffy waffle so well. The ice cream is a great addition if you're in looking to have a waffle on a hot summer day as well. The service was very quick as you just walk up, order and pay, and go to the other window to pick up your waffle. It was great, we got our waffles and were able to walk around Bruges and eat them. This popular waffle stall is located on a busy walking lane between the Market Square and De Burg. They advertise the liege waffle heavily on their menu boards. We went for a classic liege waffle (€3,00) and a chcolat chaud. The pearls of sugar were generously inserted throughout so our waffle was not without a crisp -- delicious! In addition, the hot chocolate was a joy with its thick buttery consistency. They do have more decadent offerings that come pre-fixed with various sweet toppings, but the classic is your best bet for simple, quick breakfast to fuel you along your morning walk. read more

Absolutely one of the best Belgian waffles I have ever had. Wish this was available here in the states. Service was quick. No place to sit down and eat which is why I gave it a four star. It's a bit hard to eat while standing in the crowd and since it is just in the open air it can get loud. But despite that I would eat this again without a doubt. read more
5 out of 5 stars, 100% the best waffle I've ever eaten. We ordered 8 waffles as we have a part of 8. Kids inhaled their food. I personally got the Carmel waffle and added a scoop of ice cream. Holy crap was this good. Hands down the best waffle in Bruges! We tried 6 different places. read more

Amazing does not even begin to describe Chez Albert. I came in Bruges specifically to get a waffle at Chez Albert and it did not disappoint. I chose strawberries, Belgium chocolate, and whipped cream for mine and it was heavenly. Waffle was cooked to perfection and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. It is more of a walk up place and there is no seating, but it is a short walking distance to the Markt which has lots of seating and is a great place to enjoy a break. Service was fast and employees were pleasant. Can't wait to visit the beautiful Bruges again and to get another one of these waffles that I literally dream about now. read more

INSANELY GOOD!! The first bite sent us into a shock wave! Literally we are back home from our trip to Brugge and dreaming of waffles. This was the highlight of our Belgium visit. The staff was pleasant and courteous as well. It is walk up, so there is no seating. You grab your waffle and go! read more
We stopped here twice while we were in Bruges. The waffles were amazing! Both times I had number 22 which was strawberries and dark chocolate on top of the waffle. The waffle was sweet and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A sweet treat that you must get if you're in Belgium! read more

When in Rome. Umm....when in Bruges. Getting chocolate (good but not great) is one thing to do, the other is getting some freshly made waffles. And this place here is quite famous for them. You can tell by the folks who line up. Even during Covid-times. They do smell good, they do look good. We went for a classic Liège Waffle with chocolate for 3.70 Euros. Fair priced I'd say. Chocolate was very nice, smooth and silky. The waffle itself was indeed freshly made. A bit crunchy outside and nice and soft inside. But, I don't know. I somewhat expected more. The waffle is quite plain tasting. There isn't much of a taste or flavour. It's mostly the chocolate cover you taste. I had waffles before. Bought and selfmade. Some good, some bad. But some were definitely better ones. Maybe the ones we like aren't "original" Belgian Waffles. Probably these here are. And they are ok, but not more. read more
Waffles for breakfast, it has long lines during the day. I think because it's between Burg Plaza and Markt Plaza so gets all the tourist door traffic. We found some other places that are less crowded and cheaper and has seating. Coffee and waffle was good (coffee on the small side). read more

I will never say no to waffles! My first time in Belgium, I knew I needed to find a good spot where I can get a taste of the infamous waffles. The waffles are great (as is every waffle though, right?). I went with number 22, which includes the waffle, chocolate drizzle (your choice of milk or dark) and strawberries. The strawberries were fresh and the waffle was great! It's a nice treat after all the food and beer. read more

The waffle, dark chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream were all delicious, but I felt like the chocolate overpowered the taste of the waffle too much. I wish I ordered the waffle with just strawberries and whipped cream instead. It was still worth waiting in line for though. read more

Delicious!!!!! That's what I can say about the Belgian waffles here!!! Oh my goodness you have to have some. The waffles are sweet on their own and do not need syrup at all. You can even have it with just whipped cream for some added moisture to the waffle. I had the strawberries and whipped cream Belgian waffle and my mother had the caramel and whipped cream Belgian waffle. We both fully enjoyed our waffles and were the best waffles we've ever had! I highly recommend trying this restaurant out! This is a street food experience though! There are no chairs and tables available. read more
