We were leaping for joy when we stumbled upon this spot! The smells of delicious waffles and chocolate waft throughout the entire town and it's wildly tempting. After trying several waffles around town, this spot stood out. They use oat flour, coconut sugar, and other natural, local ingredients. The waffles are also in a lacy pattern, resembling the lace-making that the city is so known for. Everything on the menu is also DF and GF. They have a seasonal menu and we tried... + Crispy Cacao Waffle: oat waffle with whipped cream, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, cacao nibs, flower petals + Bruges Fall Waffle: oat waffle with organic almond yogurt, apple fries, almond butter, waffle crumble, cinnamon, flower petals + Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop: also GF/DF and put on a handmade waffle cone We can't wait to try more because everything has been amazing. They also have a healthy drink selection and you can even order a plain waffle or build your own. I love having this healthier option, especially with having a toddler. It's also in a great spot - right on the canal, with great people watching (boat tours, horse carts, tourists, etc). Next door is also one of our favorite local restaurants - Fritbar. You can board a boat tour across the street too. PS: There is a little back patio where you can enjoy your food while watching the boats!

This waffle place is very cute and charming. The staff was very helpful in describing the menu. Those factors helped me up this rating. The whipped cream was ok. The waffle itself was very lackluster. I did take into account I am from the USA and might not be accustomed to an authentic waffle. I just didn't care for the taste. Maybe strawberries would have helped. However, I did not want to dress up the waffle so much that I could not actually taste it. They are in a great location which is in the center of Brugges, Belgium.

As you are walking through the canals towards the market square, you'll likely spot this bustling, playful waffle shop next to a bridge. Here they make their waffles with an oat based dough and shape uniquely in a lace-like shape hence the "Bruge Waffle". Their carefully crafted waffles are gluten free and with this health conscious approach comes a pricier product. They have their set menu of waffle types which include various toppings at €8.50. If you want a simple waffle, the "Otto on the Go" for €3.50 with the option to add various toppings (build your own) is the way to go. The *Crispy Cacao* I ordered with choice toppings of whipped cream, strawberries, pomegranate, cacao nibs and a sprinkling of flower garnish was quite the pretty snack plus a definite lighter version than the Brussels and Liege waffle counterparts. There is seating inside but I was much drawn by the outdoor scenery content to consume my delightful, crispy and warm waffle standing instead. A pretty waffle it was which was tasty and clean, a change from the traditional and not necessarily a weird one.

I was so excited to try an authentic Belgian waffle. There are a variety of toppings you can add like fruit, whipped cream, etc. I wanted just whipped cream so I could taste the waffle more. Well, this waffle was not what I expected. It is hard to describe the flavor. Maybe bitter. No sugar at all. I don't know. The whipped cream was just ok. I am from the USA so maybe not used to the authentic experience. I hardly ever eat a waffle even at home. The staff was real nice and the store was very inviting.

Located just across St. Joseph's Hospital. This little waffle Café features such beautiful Belgian waffles there are shaped in these little floral patterns and top with various items. We ordered one waffle which was topped with ice cream, as well as some other chocolatey toppings, and another, which was topped with whip cream, strawberries, and pomegranate seeds. Both waffles were super yummy. I would definitely recommend - the vibes here were super cute. Also, on another note, there was no bathroom here.

Thrilled to get vegan Belgium waffles! And they were so delicious! I went with just strawberries and whip cream. So good that my husband got a second one.

Gluten free- Yes, Everything. Dairy/Casein free- Most of the menu One of the most depressing things when traveling is walking by all of the delicious food that you know that you can look at, but not eat. Being a celiac with additional odd ball allergies that most of the population will never have to ever worry about makes safely eating while travel some time like trying to find a needle submerged in concrete. So it was beyond shocking to find a dedicated Gluten free place to eat. Highlights: +Everything is Gluten Free! +A majority of the items are Dairy/Casein Free, the use Oat milk + This will not break your budget! Yes, some may find it more than the many other waffle shops, but for GFCF, this is amazing! + The owners were very friendly and were happy to answer my questions +Easy to find. It is near the Saint Johns Hospital and under the tower of the Church of Our Lady. + You had to get it to go, though luckily there were a few benches outside to sit at enjoy your treat. Tip: + If you are accident prone when it comes to spilling food on yourself, make sure to get extra napkins.

Amazing waffles! This is our third time to Brugge and this place by far has the best waffles. My wife had the Gone Nuts waffle and I had the strawberry, chocolate and cream waffle...they were amazing and gluten free (which I found out later)! We talked to the owner and he uses oat flour and oat milk This place is a must for all "Waffler's" when in Bruges!

Nice view with my healthy waffle! lol

Very good waffles here. The waffle design is also cool but they were not the best ones in town. I think it's because of the dough they use. Can't remember what was inside the dough but this place is a "healthier option" to the other waffle places in town. The only problem is that when I'm on vacation the last thing I want is something healthy, lol.

Upscale, healthy, vegan Belgian waffles, if you're ever wondering if that exists. I did indeed feel less guilty eating this than I would with a regular Belgian waffle, but in the end, I prefer to have a regular powdered sugar, chocolate-drizzled, whipped-creamed Belgian waffle off of a waffle stand, any day. I had the Crispy Cacao, which came with fresh strawberries, rose petals, pomegranate, raw cacao nibs, strawberries & honey cream on an oat waffle. The presentation was pretty but it was very expensive (€7-8) for just an Instagram-pretty waffle that was pretty dull-tasting beyond the exotic-sounding toppings. It may have been the lack of oil because it was pretty dry, or the lack of syrup, but it felt like a waffle that I could easily just throw the ingredients into a waffle maker, minus the oil and sugar. If you've never had a healthy Belgian waffle and want to see what it's like having one, I would recommend checking this place maybe at least once, for the sheer curiosity.

If you are looking for that authentic waffle - try this place out…read more The service was as efficient as possible so don't let the line deter you but do expect a little wait. It was a charming little place that delivered an amazing waffle.

As others have said- it's not a sit down establishment. You order at the window and it was a card…read moreonly payment, no cash. There seems to always be a long line. However do not let this deter you. They are highly efficient and have a system therefore the wait goes fast. Just be sure to be situationally aware. It's along a busy street where a lot of horse carriage rides transit, so don't hang out in the street. Also, be mindful to step aside once you place your order (probably to the left facing the order window, but do not block the walkway that allows the employees to deliver your order. They call out your number and it's hot and fresh. There was no room to sit on the steps/stoops so I stood and enjoyed my waffle. Personally, I feel like one Belgian waffle is sufficient to share between 2 people because it's rich and really sweet if you get the chocolate one. While I enjoyed it and the presentation was excellent, the waffle was very dense and really chewy. But I think that's how they are since it's made from yeast based dough. It's definitely worth the try, just too sweet and too chewy for my preference. Staff were very friendly and kind as well!!
