The waffle/bananas and waffle/salted carmel.

The waffles were amazing, and the staff was excellent. The restaurant is clean and the service is efficient. I would absolutely come back to this establishment.

This was my first authentic Belgian waffle and it did not disappoint. The homemade whipped cream is amazing. The restaurant is small, so if there is a wait, they ask you to wait outside.

Light, crisp and most airy waffles I have ever had. And their homemade raspberry jam was out of this world. Lizzie was super friendly and attended us with utmost care!! Would go to Brugge in a heartbeat again just to have these super fluffy waffles again.

Located in Bruges with recent fame for its "Extra Large Homemade Waffles," Lizzie's Wafels at Sint Jakobsstraat 16 seems almost American in its concept and with a mostly-English speaking full-house midday on Tuesday assumptions of targeting tourists was confirmed mere minutes after entry, the staff not particularly pleasant though the Waffles themselves are quite good despite prices higher than most and turn and burn cash-only pricing. Not a place to sit and linger, the line always present despite seating for approximately twenty when accounting for the large table in back, Lizzie's sticks to the classic Brussels version of Waffle and doubling the size on most while charging a la carte for each topping the total for one is likely to trump €12 even before accounting for beverages, teas and coffee outsourced from a variety of purveyors. Waiting less than ten minutes after ordering for a hot waffle, the made-to-order item best shared by at least two as it really is quite large, it was with housemade Chantilly and Molten Chocolate that the crisp exterior was topped and taking a first bite the texture was a textbook balance of crunch over wispy interior, the Chocolate and Whipped cream slowly soaking each square indent but never compromising the taste of mildly malted batter.

I can't rave over it enough. Don't go anywhere else. Fresh delicious and service with a smile. It was Texas sized so I fit right in here! Crunchy with chewy and sweet. Amaze balls.

Lizzie! Very nice.

Nice modern restaurant/ coffee shop. Best waffles in town. I'd also recommend a chai latte and the apple ginger juice.

In Bruge you'll either be offered the Luikse waffle (sweeter and thicker with a doughy bite) or the Brussels waffle (rectangular, light and crispy). Lizzie's sells the Brussels waffle, made to order in their extra large waffle machine. Each one comes out beautifully crisp and golden with a dusting of powered sugar. Optional extras are served on the side. Their homemade jam was 80% fruit (strawberries and cherries) and not overly sweet like regular confectionery jam. Other extras like ice cream, chocolate sauce or whipped cream are available. Even eggnog! It gets real pricey if you want fresh strawberries, doubling the price. An extra set of cutlery costs €2 which really put us off. Fortunately we weren't charged for this FFS! We washed this down with a fresh hot chocolate. A fancy tall glass insulated by an outer layer of glass is served with steaming hot milk. A tennis ball sized chocolate bowl, filled with even more chocolate shavings is served on the side. We were instructed to drop this "tulip" chocolate bowl into the hot milk, watch it melt and give it a stir. The tall glass retained so much heat that the chocolate melted effortless to render a deliciously homogenised sweet chocolaty drink. Not bad for €5.50 I think Lizzie's is one of those institutions that if you're thinking of trying only one waffle, save your pennies for this one. It's pricey at €7, but epically worth it.

This place is so trendy! Stopped by here before heading out of Brugge because we heard great things about this little shop. The waffles are huge, light, and crispy. If you're small like my travel buddies and me, you could probably split a waffle between two people. Otherwise, it isn't as dense as it looks. The items are a little pricey, one waffle is seven euros and it's an extra one to eight euros for toppings. It's worth it if you have the money, but I happen to be traveling on a budget ),: The service is great, very friendly people who keep track of their customers. Much appreciated. Definitely did not regret lugging our giant backpacks from our hotel to the shop to eat these waffles.

Waffle with chocolate sauce and bananas!

The best waffle in town! Absolutely! It's crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside. All the toppings are large portion and fresh. Don't be fooled by the huge size. Have one all to yourself and that's most satisfying!

Best waffle I have ever had! I went with the strawberries, if I ever go back I will add chocolate syrup to the side to pour over top!

We ordered 2 waffles, and split them up for 3 people. The waffles are huge!

If you are looking for that authentic waffle - try this place out…read more The service was as efficient as possible so don't let the line deter you but do expect a little wait. It was a charming little place that delivered an amazing waffle.

As others have said- it's not a sit down establishment. You order at the window and it was a card…read moreonly payment, no cash. There seems to always be a long line. However do not let this deter you. They are highly efficient and have a system therefore the wait goes fast. Just be sure to be situationally aware. It's along a busy street where a lot of horse carriage rides transit, so don't hang out in the street. Also, be mindful to step aside once you place your order (probably to the left facing the order window, but do not block the walkway that allows the employees to deliver your order. They call out your number and it's hot and fresh. There was no room to sit on the steps/stoops so I stood and enjoyed my waffle. Personally, I feel like one Belgian waffle is sufficient to share between 2 people because it's rich and really sweet if you get the chocolate one. While I enjoyed it and the presentation was excellent, the waffle was very dense and really chewy. But I think that's how they are since it's made from yeast based dough. It's definitely worth the try, just too sweet and too chewy for my preference. Staff were very friendly and kind as well!!
