I'm going in between a two and three Star. Great prices here, however, very chaotic in the store. Every time I go it seems messy and out of sorts. I'm sure it's hard to Staff, however, it just appears a little junkie and that no one takes time to make it look nice. When you go through the checkout line, it always feels rushed to me. I was just at this establishment and have been more than once. Today I was approached by a worker while checking the color of an item i was interested in. She was extremely rude and after being told more than once that I was going to purchase the item that i had opened she still persisted with an attitude as if the entire isle/store isn't FULL of damaged, opened, tampered w items. The audacity to be rude after being told i was going to purchase it. Along with that a different worker took an offense to me simply spritzing the air with a perfume ..? like how else am i supposed to know if i want it. everything about my experience today was borderline infuriating. get yourselves and your place of work together before you approach another customer with that level of attitude. read more

Waited in line for over 20 minutes to return an item. I found a hole in the item. I purchased it well within three weeks of the 30 day return. Explained it was on one of the 2 receipts. However I didn't have the tags any longer because I planned on keeping the item until I found a hole in it. They told me the item wasn't on the receipt which I know for absolute certainty that it was. I also had purchased it on the TJ Maxx credit card and they said they couldn't look it up that way. I spent over $600 on these two receipts and they said no they couldn't find it. I explained it has been two years since I shopped here and I know for a fact it is on one of these two receipts they again said no it wasn't on there. I asked her to look again and she said she wouldn't. Went to the manager asking him to look again and he said no. After explaining there is a hole in the item. He said he could look again but I need to wait until the line dies down after I already waited in line for 20 minutes. The line wasn't going to die down any time soon so I gave up. The only advice I provide is make sure you really scrutinize clothes you buy from here. Make sure you know what tag goes with what item. I purchased a bunch of clothes. It doesn't matter They won't back their product's even if the item has a hole in it. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in the store to return items from an online order. The individual bags that each item came in were missing, and I was told that without them there was no way to process a return. I pointed out that all the item numbers (UPC codes) were listed on the packing slip and they still refused. They even accused me of possible fraud. I stormed out, called TJMaxx customer service from my car, and had the return processed in record time. The one cashier seemed newer and inexperienced, but the manager was a straight up bitch who was too lazy to match up the four returned items with the packing slip. Somebody needs to lay off the Lysol or whatever they are using to clean. My 3 year old and I went in today to grab a few things, he complained of not feeling well. I got a headache and my chest started hurting. The smell of chemical was awful. I shop a lot and I have never in my life smelled like chemical leaving a store or had the items I purchased smell like it. I could literally taste it in my mouth. This can't be good for anyone, especially the people working there for several hours. I didn't finish shopping we were in there for maybe 15 minutes but NEEDED to get out. read more

I had no idea there was a TJM here, but we were killing a little time before lunch and decided to check it out. It's a smaller than average location but seems to be less jumbly than other locations. I'm not saying its "organized" but in the context of other TJM's it's on the better side. The Mister scored some pretty good stuff - a nice Brewers sweat jacket, a Tumi windbreaker and two pairs of Nike basketball shorts for $70. Definitely a great deal. Staff here is BAD. There was a long line of people at the checkouts, one register open and 4(!!) workers standing at the front chatting. Hey ladies - how about doing some work? No? You'd rather stand around and watch the queue build while you ass-scratch and talk about HGTV shows that you like? Allrighty then.... read more

Wow! Let me tell you how much I love T. J. Maxx stores. It is my favorite store to shop where ever I am home or away. I have to go check out whats new and different. I have been shopping T.J. Maxx for over 20 years. The sales associates have always been nice, friendly and helpful. So once I had made my selections to purchase bring them to the register to pay and be met by such a rude unfriendly sales person, I was offended. My daughter handed the cashier her items first The cashiers name is Angela. She looked at my daughter in such disgustingly manner never greeted her with a hello or did you find everything ok, not even a smile. I was next with my items it was just a repeat.. I bought a pair of dress sandals for my daughter. She wore them once and the rubber soles on both shoes peeled away from the shoes. When I tried to return them, Latrice and the associate called me a liar - said the shoes were worn more than once and they would not return the shoes. "Normal wear and tear" Not sure what training they went through to determine the number of times a pair of shoes were worn. Poor judgement - not only did they lose the purchase I was going to make, they also lost a customer for life. read more

I come here on occasion to find clothes or things for wedding presents. They always seem to have nice home good stuff, such as pots/pans/etc for a reasonable price. In regards to clothes, sometimes you have to do some digging to find what you are looking for. I will say though I have better luck at this TJ Maxx when it comes to work pants than the other TJ Maxxs. Things here are cheaper than some other places but be prepared to do some serious browsing/digging. read more

I love TJ Maxx stores but this particular location in Brookfield, WI has always been my least favorite with some employee's that really don't seem like they want to be there, including management. I recently purchased 4 pairs of jeans on-line and none of them fit. I went to return them at this location and was told that because one of them had a store tag on it, they wouldn't return the cost to the card I used; they'd only give me a in-store credit. The credit doesn't bother me because it will be used as I love to shop at TJ Maxx. What bother's me is that I have no control over what was sent to me. I haven't bought jeans from any of their stores, other than on-line, in YEARS. I showed the sales girl my receipt that came in the package, including the emailed receipt with pictures and she continued to argue with me that these jeans were bought from inside a store and the tag dept. # didn't match what was on the receipt. The name brand, price and description were exact! And again, I cannot control what was sent to me! The rude sales girl walked away and the coordinator took over the return. I was angry that I was being treated like a liar, so I asked the coordinator, Kelly, what the sales girls name was and she refused to tell me. She said she didn't think she could give out that information...they ALL wear name tags! I contacted customer service and was given a generalized blurb via email about costumer service being a priority and sorry that happened. None of my questions about the tag were answered and I was told that my email would be forwarded to the store manager. Well, that's a joke because no one contacted me from the store for a response, my questions were not answered by customer service and management was involved in the issue to begin with...so what will change? Nothing! BUYER BEWARE because if you order anything on line and are sent an item with a tag on it, you are going to have a problem if you need to return it. If you want friendly customer service, go to the Waukesha location instead of Brookfield. read more

I never knew there was a TJMaxx so close to Brookfield square so once I found out I had to go. It's smaller and packed, I didn't have much luck finding clothes or shoes. I did spot some Rayban sunglasses and a cute bathing suit, and they also have a nice home section. read more

I am so incredibly disappointed with this store and will not be coming back. I was in a situation where I needed a new pair of dress slacks on very short notice for a wedding. I didn't think it would be a problem because usually TJ Maxx stores have formal clothes in stock. I mapped this location since it was on the way to the wedding and thought that surely they would have at least 1 pair of decent dress slacks. Well, I was extremely disappointed and shocked when there were absolutely no men's dress slacks in any size in stock! Not a single pair. I couldn't believe that an apparel store did not have any men's dress slacks. Frustrated and in disbelief, I tried to find an employee for help. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place or maybe they had them in the back. However, that's only when things got worse. After making several laps around the men's section without any luck, I searched the entire store and was not able to locate any staff members readily available who could help me. It seemed that all staff members were at the registers or in the back. I couldn't believe that they didn't have one person on the floor helping guests. After a few laps and only after walking to the entire opposite end of the store, I finally saw an employee and asked if there were any men's dress slacks available. She answered, "Sorry. What you see is what we have because it's July and we're mainly stocking shorts." Seriously? I understand that apparel stores need to stock what's in season but dress/business clothes are worn and needed year round. That's like saying because it's summertime, we're not selling socks because everyone is wearing sandals. Or because it's winter, we're not selling any T-Shirts and only sweaters. I ended up driving to the Kohl's right up the street where in 10 minutes I was able to find, try, and buy the perfect pair of dress slacks for a great price and I even got an unexpected coupon to save me even more cash. I've learned my lesson and won't be shopping at this poorly stocked location anymore. read more

Oh this place used to be better. What is going on with the staff?? Now it is VERY worth it to drive to the newer one on Sunset in Waukesha. I purchased a beauty product (among several other things) on my last visit, on my TJX card. I tossed the receipt because I loved everything and had also purchased that product several times before at other (beauty focused) major stores, and didn't anticipate an issue. I guess their versions are old or something it seemed a little different consistency when I opened the box and looked through the glass bottle. No problem I thought, closed up the box and went to return for store credit (since I tossed the receipt and I didn't think they could look up my purchase on my store credit card.) Well, the lady at the counter seemed scared to do a return of any kind and stepped aside to ask her shrew 'manager' - I think she called her Nancy. Not sure what she said to her after my friendly "I'd just like to return this for credit" explanation. I told it just like I told here, that it seemed visually a bit old or different than what I've seen at other places. She came back and said "She said no returns for defective merchandise w/ out the receipt." Umm. What?? It's not defective it's how you just sold it to me. Because I said it looked different than what I'm used to? I couldn't even get this Nancy's attention she just kept shaking her head and wouldn't look at me. Not even a chance to explain. The cashier just said, sorry, I don't get it either but she's the boss. I walked out of there dumbfounded. And returned it at another location. That place even apologized and said maybe it was a bad one and they'd keep it off the shelf, store credit no problem. So, staff is odd, the manager is on a frowny power trip and I swear you can't walk through this location anymore without being disturbed by screaming babies or toddlers running through the aisles unsupervised. So it's packed with people and all I need is a gift card. It's like asking for a disaster. So I pick my way over the piles of discarded stuff to get to the register. There is merchandise laying all over the counter, the back counter has garbage and merchandise all over and the floor is riddled with garbage. I pick out my gift card and hand it to the cashier. She starts to run the card and the cashier next to her can't get the security device off an electronic she is ringing up for a different customer. So I wait as my cashier tries to do that. Then she starts complaining with another cashier about some personal drama. Finally she hands me the receipt. And I'm still standing there waiting..... waiting for her to give me the gift card I just purchased. She finally stops complaining and looks at me. Me: I just need the card. Her: oh I gave you that. Me: no you didn't. It's right there on the register. Her: oh my bad. Then she kind of tosses it at me. Nice... I get TJMaxx is more of a discount type of place but you would think management would train people not to be that trashy and rude. read more
