STORY TIME: I used…read moreto shop here often a few years ago. I remember walking out with bags full of cute clothes for cheap. Recently when I came back, I was disappointed with the small selection, goodwill-ish atmosphere, and the person I came with was bothered (basically harassed) by one of the employees. The employee who shall remain anonymous back by the fitting rooms stopped my relative while she was shopping and talked to her for over 15 minutes about a fundraiser he was attending, and tried to convince her to go as well. My relative thanked him for letting her know about the event and tried going back to her shopping, but he kept going on and on about the event. All she wanted to do was leave! I finally saved her by asking the employee for assistance, and after she got away he TRACKED HER DOWN ACROSS THE STORE to continue talking to her for another 10 minutes. I couldn't figure out where she went, and when I found her she was hiding with her cart behind a clothing rack. I feel kind of bad because he seemed lonely and in need of someone to talk to, but he pretty much chased us out of the store. Awkward and uncomfortable... Overall, the clothing is hit or miss, but the hits are extremely affordable and seem to be decent quality. Just be prepared to possibly get stopped by the occasional chatty employee.

I went up the management ladder and all I got were supervisors and managers that just wouldn't fix this. They just said I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you. There is always a way. I know. I spent 23+ years in upper retail management and we always found a way. They definitely do not understand customer service.

Just needing a couple last minute gifts, this was a relatively quick in-and-out trip, but I was able to find what I was looking for and get in and out in a short amount of time, another goal achieved! Like most TJ Maxx stores, you aren't likely to interact with anyone on the sales floor, so either find it yourself or assume they do not have it, but as far as Maxx outlets go, you certainly could do worse than the Menomonee Falls outlet.

They stand around chatting with each other, and barely notice that there are even customers around them. The grocery order pick up is a joke. There are always delays, it takes them HOURS to shop like 10 items. They have a phone number listed that you are supposed to call when you arrive, except no one answers that phone number. The worst part is, they are completely unapologetic for how horrible their service is. This department has one job: to receive orders, shop those orders, and have them ready when you arrive. They are unable to accomplish this task. I have lived all over the country, and I have never encountered such inept, oblivious, and unmotivated Walmart employees. Looks like it is back to Aldi for low price groceries. At least their employees greet you with a smile and know what they are doing. Ridiculous. Enter: El Paso Western Gear, part of that whole good nostalgia A place of magic and wonder and also, it seemed just a touch scary when I was a kid. Pop's Frozen Custard lived two doors down in the same mini-mall, so many formative years were spent in said mini-mall. I remember, out of sheer curiosity, asking my parents if we could go to El Paso. "Can we can we CAN WE?!?" I'm sure they secretly rolled their eyes, wondering why in sam hill an 8 year old would want to check out a western-themed store. I digress. The walls? The floor? The ceiling? WOOD. And boots. So so many boots. And hats... cowboy hats, of course.
