I love shopping here for special gifts and the holidays. It is a chain, but they have such a fun collection of unique items. The store is always clean, well-organized, and it's so fun to just wander around and see what you find. Yesterday they had some specialty coffee and snacks to try while we browsed. Make sure you sign-up for rewards online for the best deals. Ornaments, snacks, home decor, kitchen items, stocking stuffers, thoughtful gifts for any occasion. I've always liked this store. The variety of stuff and how different much of it is from the norm appeals to me very much. This isn't a regular go to for anything, but I do like to stop in every few months to see what's new for any particular holiday or season. The candle selection cannot be beat, in my opinion. With the most wonderful scents, and colors that truly go with any decor, something is wrong if you can't find one you like here. The seasonal decor area is such an eclectic collection of items, that you will most likely chuckle and/or get a sense of nostalgia from the available items. If you are looking for a truly unique gift, this area is your one stop shop. The grocery area is my favorite. The vast amount of Japanese and German items available for purchase makes me sooo happy! Don't shop here often because the prices are way too high. I was looking for a nice present so thought I would stop in. Walked around & around, but couldn't find anything suitable that wasn't overpriced. They do have unique items, but I decided that I was better off ordering online at a much lower cost. I think because I was wandering around searching for the present, one heavy set female worker, must have thought I looked suspicious & proceeded to follow me around. Well, that solidified my decision to not spend my money there. I am a person of color & find it quite offensive that I was probably profiled for this reason. According to my husband, I really shouldn't be allowed in World Market. I could buy half the store if I tried! It's kind of a bizarre mix of goods, as they sell lots of home furniture like curtains, chairs, rugs, shelving, and lighting. But then you can also shop coffee, wine, craft beers, and loads of international (shelf) food products. I'm a big fan of their decor section, where I've previously purchase shelves, mirrors, fake plants, candles and art. There's just a lot of unique finds that I wouldn't expect you'd get from a general home store. Recently, we were in need of lighting for a corner of our condo. In my head, I pictured a wicker lamp shade that hangs from the ceiling. World Market immediately came to mind! My husband was shaking his head at me, knowing I can't only go for one item, but don't let him fool you: he's from the UK and anytime we go to World Market he get's his favorite English sweets and snacks from the food section. Anyway, I digress. We found the most perfect round bamboo basketweave pendant shade for our place. I love the Cost Plus organization and the quirky collection of household goods at World Market makes these shops always fun to browse in. Well not so much during a coronavirus pandemic but they have a nice no contact order online to curbside pick up. They have a lot of really great deals on stuff you don't need but would really like now while they have to unload the inventory that didn't sell as well as it should have because the economy collapsed. The friendly salespeople suffer from a generational weakness, very few "adults" under 30 - the backbone of the retail labor force - have never filed in a physical filing cabinet by last name. For that matter many of them are really confused about titles, first names, last names and this is a problem when trying to find an order. read more

Ok, it's a chain. I know, I know. But, you CAN find cool things here at a good price. It's like Pier One, except that Pier One is so 1987. Good: * Household decor like pillows, baskets and posters * Cookware at good prices. Not the best quality, but really, how many times are you going to use that tagine? * Fun food items from all over the globe. We always play a game called "find the grossest candy" here and there is never a shortage of contenders. Bad: * wine - the selection sucks and it's overpriced. Shop elsewhere. * A disturbingly large selection of the kind of "cheese food" that doesn't need refrigeration. Ugh - gross. Awesome and the real reason for 4 stars: * Kinder Chocolates- we discovered Kinder while shopping for "supermarket souvenirs" in France. It's a bit annoying on their marked down SALE items. Check and ensure that you are getting that same SALE price also on the cash register. Like I DID NOT today but caught the error. The whole process was disorganized and a pain to endure. It had taken a long time for the associates to check the price themselves and then someone who is qualified can do the override. For this reason, I can't say the service here is too good. I will say though that they have unique and some interesting EXPENSIVE things. read more

Absolutely love the wide variety of world especially the groceries. From the double cream from London to the German sausages, Greek olives selections just to name a few. We even had the authentic Mediterranean tuna packed in olive oil that they sell in Italy. I had one item to check out and was next in line. There was one person behind me with a cart of items and The employee opened another lien and took the person behind me as the next available. For this reason I am taking out two stars as I left my product and walked out. Customer service training definitely needs to improve at the store as this is not the first time I've had bad service or no service. read more

I love World Market so much! I really wish the one in Greenfield hadn't closed down years ago, but that just makes the long trip to Brookfield more fun. I do love that this one is super easy to get to. It's located across the street from Brookfield Square, on the North side of Bluemound Road. There is a light at this intersection so no worries about traffic which is a plus during winter holidays. There is a huge wine and beer selection. I drink neither so I never take advantage of this. I do splurge on the flavored soda's though. I love to cook and there are several aisles of unique worldly ingredients. Since I use jasmine rice quite often, I buy in bulk here. A bag of rice is about $5 which is a bargain compared to my local grocer. One of the things I love the most is that there is a big selection of tiny items that are perfect for gift baskets. Little bottles of syrup or sauces, small jars of preserves, little meats and cheeses. Alcohol nips. They also have a vast selection of baskets and wrapping materials. The candy aisles are good for basket stuffers as well. There are some foreign staples such as Haribo but also a good selection of seasonal goods. Speaking of seasonal, they have some great items that get picked over rather quickly. So if you want something funky or unique stop here. They offer a variety of coupons via email monthly or more often. I think you can also earn points on purchases too, but I don't shop here often enough nor do I use the coupons so I'm a little fuzzy on the particulars. From what I remember the discounts are often on paintings and alcohol purchases which I don't need. And while I'm rambling/gushing, I need to bring up the kitchen supplies. Mostly place settings and glassware. The variety seems nearly endless. I'm a sucker for random Asian pottery and plates, some of them mismatch perfectly. I bought chopsticks rests once just because of how cute they were- I'm too afraid I'll break them if I use them regularly. I love this store for your around the world foods and drinks and home decor also bath soaps face masks, kitchen accessories and liquor area. Its got some great unusual things to find from different countries like the candy and foods and clothing. They have furniture and wall art and greeting cards. I get my butternut squash pasta sauce here from the company Dave's its so good with butternut squash ravioli . I like looking in the back area for sales and clearance items from jellies and candy and chips. The staff are always friendly and help when needed. Place is clean and they are using masks and cleaning areas after customers. read more

Great spot for unique accents and vintage novelties. Each item has a label that says where it's from (or it can be found under the price tags on the shelf). The price is comparable to Pier 1 Imports, but much of the decor lacks quality or sustainability. They have a vast selection of greeting cards for most occasions that's worth checking out. If I get a card from Walmart for Mothers Day it feels like an afterthought whereas here you can find one that looks less commercial and more custom. read more

Dec 26th, 2016...7pm... My wife, her two sisters, one sister's 13 year old daughter, and myself just finished spending about an hour or so shopping for their parent's new house. Please understand that the 4 adults are all in our 30's and are not struggling for money, so to speak. Once you read subsequent paragraphs, you will see why I mention this. My wife and her sisters needed a bunch of stuff, including furniture, so we ended up spending about $1,100.00. Price is not the issue. World Market provides a lot of value and an overall great product. I am always pleased with my World Market purchases. So, why the 1 star review??? The entire time we were there, we were being stalked by the employees. Every time I turned around, there was someone who worked there looking at me like I was going to damage or steal something. I felt really uncomfortable, and thought that maybe I was imagining things. I told my wife that I was being followed and watched, and she said that she felt the same way, that people were following her around and creepily watching her. WOW...This was really happening. What the hell??? Are these people crazy??? Was it one manager that told all the girls working there to follow us around and make sure we didn't cause any trouble??? When we were checking out, there were like 4 employees lingering around. Two of them looking through our stuff... Then.....One of them asks me....WAIT FOR IT..... ...."Did you open a bag of popcorn and not pay for it???" WHAT...Did she just ask me this??? Yes, we did open a bag of popcorn, but we paid for it. Why would you even ask me that? Good grief. Next up. The girl cashing us out seemed extremely annoyed with life and was giving us snotty remarks. I was super nice to her. I was saying please and thank you, and trying to make her feel content and happy. BUT, this just wasn't happening. She was snippy and rude. It was extremely uncomfortable. I own 2 companies that depend on great customer service, and I would never let this girl set foot anywhere near my offices. On top of that, she didn't know anything about the 15% off promotion. (Mind you, there was a SIGN with the promotion literally 5 feet in front of her face). As you can imagine, It was pretty cold outside. So, once we got everything paid for, I asked if we could unpack two of the large boxes of furniture inside of the store, so we wouldn't have to be out in the cold doing it. This is a task that should only take 3-5 minutes, but was necessary to fit the items in the minivan. At this point, there was another nasty girl in the background stating that "they just mopped", and there is "salt on the floor" and we wouldn't want to "get our furniture all salty". "It's just going to make a mess", she said. She had to call a manager up front to verify if we could do this. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? It has been a VERY long time since I have been treated like a piece of garbage like this. There were about 6 employees in total. 4 of them were responsible for this extremely poor experience. Two of them, I think one is named Megan, helped us open the boxes(OUTSIDE), and seemed to be very nice. Just to put the cherry in top, and tip the scales for me to even write a review, is that the cashier, who felt the need to inform me that she "had a genetic disorder", and that it was "more information than I probably needed to know", FAILED to wrap any of the glass items. So, when we got home, we had a couple of broken pieces. I took a picture of one of them. Sorry for the long rant, but these people just sucked. I live in Florida, and I am just visiting my in-laws here. Most everyone is extremely nice, welcoming, and over the top courteous here in WI. Way more so than in FL. I really like World Market, and will be spending another couple of thousand on some new office furniture. I popped into Cost Plus for a few last-minute gifts on Christmas Eve. Pretty much everything holiday related was 50% off! I stocked up on cute ornaments, packaged edibles, and gift wrap supplies. Here's a sweet tip: I left my $10 off $30 coupon at home. I was able to quickly obtain the same discount on my smart phone by googling "Cost plus printable coupon" and scanning it at the cash register. I got 50% off almost everything I purchased AND got $10 off my total bill! Yay! I'm a fan. read more

This place is dangerous. I like to visit when I'm out on this side of Milwaukee. I always go in for 1-2 things and leave with a basket full of delicious foods and snacks from around the world. That's the main reason that end up in this store, but they also offer a ride range of furniture and house decor, but I can't opine on that half of the store. I typically don't buy alcohol here as its always a couple dollars more expense than the local stores just down the street. read more

I stopped here to find some tea. Wow! Have I missed World Market. They had amazing small gifts that would make great stocking stuffers or any time gifts. They had gifts for cat lovers or dog lovers on your holiday giving lists. They have a great international snack selection and wonderful cooking utensils. I have to go back for more gifts! Or if ethnic food or decorative pieces are more to your liking, then this is the place for you. They have authentic pieces that are usually vibrant in colors and is an accurate representative of the respective cultures. What is this place? I remember there used to be one on the south side, but I never had any interest in this place until someone told me that I could find cheap cast iron tea kettles here. My wife wanted a pretty specific tea kettle, so I decided to stop in here instead of having to sell a kidney to afford the black cast iron tea kettle at our local Teavana. This place was so in the open, yet so hard to find. I drove past like three times before I found it! Since I was with the little one, expletives such as "Fudge!" were hurled. When I finally found it and walked in, the store was laid out perfectly. After a quick scan, I found the kitchen area off to the left and while the area was cram packed full of stuff, I was still able to easily find a display of tea kettles. Better yet, these kettles were cheap! I did a lot of price checking, and the kettle I eventually bought was half the price of the cheapest kettle I found and more than $200 less (Damn you Teavana!) than the only other black cast iron kettle I've found. After a couple run throughs with the cast iron kettle, it's working great. Upon leaving I ran into a small but diverse display of seasonal beer. Points for trying. I'll be back to explore farther into the store and buy some more things. read more

This store is large and very cool. It you've ever been into a World Market, you know that already. But the people who work here are so accommodating. We came in looking for brand new everything, basically, and so many employees came by asking if we needed additional help. We even started rearranging rugs on the floor under couches, brought over pillow and coffee tables, we were being a little obnoxious. And they were so kind. They said to keep going and everything was looking great! Didn't mind that we were somewhat in the way and there for HOURS. And then, when we went to purchase everything they helped bring it to the car. Super nice store and great employees! read more

Need a bunch of unique but useless crap for your house? Need some cheese or sausages stored at room temperature for God knows how long? Need a 5 foot tall "hand-carved" wooden giraffe? Need some Eiffel Tower art? How about an Advent calender? The list goes on..... I kinda feel the same way about World Market as I do IKEA. It's better to go here without an agenda or a shopping list. You never know what you are going to get, but it will always be interesting. They have furniture here, but I have never seriously considered buying any of it. Looks cool, but I can't speak for the quality or value. I really enjoy the eclectic-ness (is that a word?) of their vintage toys and Euro-foods, especially the chocolates. I enjoy World Market because I can find some of the British stuff I have been missing here... and I like to drool over the home decor and kitchen items. I signed up for the membership and have been quite pleased with the coupons that come through... especially today... First of all I didn't know they had up to 50% off on all furniture. Second, they had a coupon for 49% off for the 49ers in the Super Bowl. I decided to shop online, but discovered the piece of furniture I wanted would have about $100 in shipping, so for minimal gas costs, I figured I could go to the store and get it cheaper. However, for those of you wanting something extra... I left the item in my cart (online) and eventually they gave me another 10% coupon for the purchase. It still wasn't cheaper, but it may be of use to someone else. I went to the store and when I walked up they had items on clearance outside. Usually I don't pay any attention, but they had a nice cushy chair on clearance, so I took note. There was a very friendly staff member named Emily who helped me locate the item I wanted and was really helpful in answering my questions. They didn't have it in stock, but gave me a raincheck. And when I enquired about the chair outside, she mentioned that she could disassemble it so it would fit into my car. She did this while I looked around for some other items. She was amazing... helpful, friendly, and efficient... she made it look so effortless and it really made my experience today wonderful. If they are always this helpful, I can bet that my apartment will be decorated in stuff from there! I will say that the sales are really good, but if there are no sales, it can get quite expensive. read more

I love vintage toys, and they have quite a few replicas of really, really, old toys and games. There are tons of speciality food items, fantastic wine and beers, and lots of kitchen items. If you are into glassware and bar ware, there is a nice selection. Also, check out the bath soaps, towels, and out of control furniture section. They always have great clearance and sales. The seasonal items are very fun! Apart from the clearance, it tends to be a little pricey for me. read more

Great product selection but too much pressure from employees to sign up in their "free rewards program". A younger employee begged me to sign up and I kept saying no and it went on and on and on... The employee finally said that their hours are based on how many sign ups they get each day.Basically if the employee got a lot of no responses from customers their hours would but cut. I gladly then signed up but was very disturbed that companies would treat their employees like that. I am a local news reporter and we are now researching if companies have the right to do this to its employees. read more
