We're Kohls for the summer, like Demi Lovato.  This is obviously one of the preferred stores for suburban females, and Barbi loves coming here. Generally speaking, a lot of the customers here are females, and kind of like Target it's become very trendy and middle-class over the years. Prices aren't cheap but you can get discounts on fancy type things and mid-price things and they offer a hell of a ton of discounts and rewards for those who shop regularly and religiously, and I guess the problem is that the prices to begin with aren't usually great, but they're also not the worst. All of their patio furniture used to be eligble. Now, outdoor chaise lounges that used to be Sonoma brand and eligible are now advertised without any name and as "marketplace" items. I used to buy the lounges every year. Now they don't "qualify" for coupons. The store is never crowded even at Christmas. It's going downhill. KOHL'S. They would not honor a sale price for an item that could only be purchased online. Their computer crashed and no one could access the web site. This went on for hours. I spent 5+ hours trying to get the system to work and on the phone 5 times trying to get them to do the right thing. It wasn't due to negligence on my end. I generally have no problem with Kohl's because I understand their gimmick which I have no problem with. Kohl's cash can be used a couple days after they give it to you and it's good for about a week so I got on yelp to see if one was around where I was lunching and one block away was one to use it up before it expires. It's a great gimmick because you don't want to leave free $10 on the table and let it expire, between my gift card left over/sales discount and Kohl's cash I got a nice name brand modern breathable casual shirt for .94 cents, I handed a buck over and got 6 cents change and I refused the 15% discount at the register because I wanted to completely kill off all the money on the gift card, that's funny. The deal with Kohl's it they put an exaggerated retail price on merchandise, put it on sale with a good looking mark down, give you an extra discount at the register then give you Kohl's cash if you spend enough so you're in a vicious circle of returning. I generally only shop Kohl's for casual street clothes/shoes and with their gimmick the prices seem reasonable for name brand items, not that I know any better because as a guy I don't do my homework or shop around. For the first time I saw a kiosk robot that interacts with customers to help them, it's creepy and I'm not ready for that future but I took 15 seconds to check it out while no one paid any attention to it and walked around it, see my video. The person at the register was awful. I went there on 3/29 but the coupon will be applied from 3/30, so she told me to come back next day which is 3/30 to pick up at the customer service desk. Customer service here tends to get worst by the day. I placed an order for Kohls. For whatever reason, my shipping address is WRONG. I called Kohls. I was on hold for THIRTY minutes. When the lady finally answered, I said "I need to change my shipping address." She said okay got it, I can help. When she looked up my order, she said she could not do that and I had to contact my carrier. WHAT? Did you even understand the question?? She told me to contact the carrier, Lasership and THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THAT. I called, hold for another 30 minutes. I found two pairs of shoes I really liked but was going to hold off on until I saw they had 35% off if you signed up for their Kohl's charge card. Well I signed up for it and they did not honor the 35% off which is a bait and switch tactic that is highly illegal. I am very familiar with these as I worked in advertising for over 20 years and it's only the really crooked companies that try this and then try to uphold them. I spoke with customer service, a manager, and then it got escalated up to their executive offices. They did nothing about it at all, it was a complete joke to them. Worst customer service! I ordered $640 worth of merchandise on Black Friday and received 1/3 of it. Once I requested a refund they wouldn't give me it all back because I received kohl's cash towards my next order. On yesterday I called the store regarding their seasonal hiring process. A couple months ago I had been working there but missed a few shifts (was not notified of scheduled) due to being sick. I received a letter to my home stating the company policy and had the issue rectified with a lovely lady at the store in March. As of yesterday, I spoke with Rori and she canceled my phone interview and marked me ineligible for rehire for no reason at all. I've applied to a few stores since March but even after not being selected was never considered ineligible. Kohls, without my knowledge or consent, changed my billing from mail to email. The problem is that Kohl's used an email that is no longer active. So, for $33.00, Kohl's has placed a delinquency on my credit report. I have been a customer for 20 years without a late payment and now due to their own idiocy, they are ruining my credit. If I can give Kohl's zero stars I would! Here's my story. Purchased a PlayStation 4, a bunch of controllers and a charging station for my daughter to be given in Christmas day. I received a $120 Kohl's Cash to be used for future purchases at Kohl's or Kohls.com, but I only had a week to use it. When the Kohl's Cash arrived at my inbox, I used it up right away. I used it on a couple of small items for Xmas and mainly on things I didn't really need or want that badly. When my PlayStation arrived, it was delivered on a rainy day and the package some how got wet. The console looked OK but I couldn't give it as a gift because the cardboard box was peeling away! I called the customer service and they said they'll send me another one once I return it to the store. It'll be a simple exchange. As it turned out, I returned it but kohls.com didn't have it in stock, so I only got back a refund minus $75! Here's the scam, they want you to buy stuff from them in return for coupon cash to spend at their store. I told the service desk I'll come back and return the items I purchased with the kohls cash, so I could recoup the money I lost after returning the console. I was so livid! I returned some items but they can only give me back the money in Kohl's Cash! That is freakin bull crap! So, once you spent the Kohl's Cash, you've lost the equivalent money you've spent. So what I thought I would be saving on my purchase was a losing proposition. Even the manager was feeding be the B.S. that there's nothing she can do! Not only did I receive bad customer service from the initial Customer Service Representative who answered the phone like a circus clown, I called the employee's Supervisor to complain about this and got the runaround - the Supervisor had assured me that he would call me back after looking into the matter and never did! This caused me to have to reach out to the Executive Office. I reached out to the Executive Office, where I thought my issue would be resolved. The Executive Employee, that was supposed to address the matter, Shelly, made it sound like I was wrong to complain about their so-called 'outstanding' employee. Shelly didn't address my problem adequately: She spoke to me as if I had no reason to complain. She informed me that when she and her other colleagues reviewed the recording of the unprofessional employee, they claimed that they didn't hear anything wrong with our verbal exchange. Shelly didn't make me feel like a valued customer. She ultimately told me that there was no additional training that could be provided to the Customer Service Employee because he already did a great job. However, she had a customer on the line (me) saying the exact opposite. I feel like I was talked down to, not taken seriously, and wasn't treated like a valued customer. I asked her if she could review the tape one more time- SHE REFUSED! She claimed that she didn't need to review the recording again because she'd already reviewed the matter enough, she refused to look into the matter further!! In Short: #1.The lack of professionalism from the Customer Service Representative. #2.The neglect to follow-up as promised by the Supervisor. #3.The failure of the Executive Employee to take responsibility for the unprofessionalism and lack of accountability of the Supervising staff AND her refusal to listen to the tape another time... On 11/19 I placed 2 orders online with Kohl's. According to Kohl's you will receive $15 Kohl's cash for every $50 spent plus an additional $5 incentive if you pick up instead of taking advantage of free shipping. I thought, cool, and ordered 5 pairs of Black Friday priced Nike & New Balance sneakers (2 in one order valued at $60 and 3 in the other valued at $106). At the end of the 2nd order for $106, despite me adding in excess of the amount prompted by the (add this much more for an additional $15 Kohl's cash), I only received $15 not $30 Kohl's cash. When I contacted them to find out what the fudge, they told me I was THREE CENTS short of the minimum. I advised that their system told me I only needed to add X amount and that I added over the advised. Crickets. Then I check my credit card account and find TWELVE pre-auths totaling more than $600 on my account from Kohls. That's right, for 2 orders totaling $166. In addition to being charged the $106 TWICE, I was charged the $60 TWICE and then charged TWICE for every time they shipped something out in groups of 1 or two. That means I was charged FOUR TIMES PER PAIR OF SHOES. When I complain I get a lovely cut and paste response from "Joey V." that in effect explains to poor stupid little me what a preauth is, that I basically shouldn't care that they have put large, excessive and unauthorized holds on my card and that the excess will fall off in approximately 7 days...cause putting extremely large holds on someone's credit card is standard business practice for A CLOTHING STORE. I thank Joey V. for his "help". I then have the pleasure of getting pretty much the verbatim reply from "Sharrell F." who describes herself as "Executive Correspondence Lead, Office of the President" and the "highest level of customer service" who again finds no fault with Kohl's processing system/business practices in charging a customer four times per item. She goes on to add that "The charges that are pending on your Master Card are temporary authorizations that were processed to ensure *that enough funds are available for the entire amount of the purchase you are attempting to make*." Because if you can't afford/don't want to pay 4 times the price of what you agreed to pay, you obviously have no business buying it in the first place? She goes on to add: "I apologize, as we are unable to contact your bank to have the funds released as we are not holding any funds." No, you dumb broad, Kohl's simply REQUESTED my credit card company hold the funds by running my card information through their systems REPEATEDLY. However, I should rest assured that in about a week, everything will straighten up as the incorrect pre-auths will fall off and the correct amount will remain. As if my Kohl's experience couldn't get any more positive, I never receive the $5 pick up incentive in the pick up email (as stated in their offer). At the store, I ask the associate about it to which she replies that I'm not the 1st customer to come in and take issue with Kohl's NOT honoring the incentive. However, the store says it's an online issue and has to be dealt with online. I have been a loyal kohl's customer for perhaps 45+ years. I am done and will never do business with this company again. I purchased over $250.00 of clothing in their store. Was not able to try them on as the dressing rooms were closed. Took the purchase home. Had 3 pair of same brand Gloria Vanderbuilt jeans, same style, same size, same color jeans. None of the 3 fit. But...all 3 fit differently! Sure enough, looked at the tags, one made in China, one made in Jordon, one made in Madagascar! Went back to the store with my original receipt and was credited 20.00 less than I paid. When I asked why, it was explained to me that I had received 20.00 Kohl's cash on that purchase. This Kohl's lately has been very disappointing. Limited ladies clothing, everything you have order online. Some of the cashier's are very rude to the point of antagonizing. Once upon a time Kohl's was my go-to store.......but alas someone decided it would be a clever idea to play politics and cancel vendors simply because of a difference of opinion. SOOO, I decided to do the same and cancel them. I have not shopped there since 2019. I am intrigued by the downturn excuses: Amazon, poor service, product availability, etc. While they are certainly valid, policies that choose to exclude or include certain sectors of the population will without a doubt shut out the very customers that you try so hard to attract. Now the fraud dept and corporate want my driver's license AND passport to reactive. I was a former customer of Kohl's and bought many items from this store pre-pandemic. On 09/24/22, I visited their website to order some jeans. I signed in to my account so that I could use a discount and Kohl's Cash. It had been a while since I'd used my Kohl's card. When I tried to place the order, it wouldn't go through, and the site wouldn't let me use another credit card, so I called customer service. I had the same experience as another reviewer in that the customer service rep could not find my Kohl's card info, even when he saw my order, my e-mail, and my address. I gave him current and former phone numbers--still nothing. I asked him to transfer me to a supervisor--that took another 10 minutes, and then I was sent to somebody's voicemail. I had spent 27 minutes on the phone at this point. I hung up and tried the chat version. After another 10 minutes of explaining the whole thing over again, I was sent back to the same customer service phone number I had just spent 27 minutes on. I chatted back that this was not satisfactory as this was the number that had given me the runaround for nearly half an hour, but they said that was the only way to resolve it. My wife and I made some last second purchases, prior to a vacation, at the Kohl's in Palm Coast Florida last May. My wife had a expired Kohl's credit card from 2011 that the cashier assured us she would update for us. Unfortunately despite us providing our new mailing address etc. the update failed. Subsequently, in July, I learned via credit monitoring that Kohl's hit us with a delinquent account with the credit agencies. We were in NJ at the time and immediately went to the nearest store and paid off the $65.00 bill. Kohl's mailed the statements to our old address in NJ. That mail wasn't forwarded because we moved to Florida over 3 years ago. None of this was our fault and our FICO score took a tremendous hit. Kohl's grudgingly waived the finance charge penalties but has flat out refused to reverse the negative report to the credit agencies. This scenario was caused by the Kohl's employee's error in Florida. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to see if they could help with the problem. That was a useless endeavor, Kohl's won't budge and we received a letter from Kohl's HQ Customer Service Rep. Dana Oberheur who answered the CFPB complaint. Dana Oberheur indicated she would be happy to discuss this further and provided her phone number. I have left 3 messages with her since mid-December it is obvious that she has no interest in talking to me about this. The Kohl's cash isn't worth the aggravation when things go wrong! read more

I purchased a vacuum at Kohl's online on 3/19/20 for over $300. I returned it via mail on 4/22/20. I checked to see when Kohl's received the vacuum. It was 4/28/20. I called Lelticia (Kohl's employee) on 5/5/20 to see where my refund was. She said she would process it immediately. On 5/12/20 I contacted my credit card company to file it as a fraudulent charge because I still had not received my refund. I contacted my credit card company and they said they have to wait 15 days after contacting Kohl's for a response which they have not received. I am done with Kohl's. They take your refund but don't refund it. Too many other stores need our business. Think twice about doing business with this company. By the way, still waiting on refund. read more

I've have been working in customer service for most of my life. I'm speechless where kohl's hired their employees. Recently made a purchased for blink caneras and nike shoes. Items shown available regardless after I received a short email stated "we cannot full filled your order" via email. I went to store for a separate pickup for my other order. I asked store online service Rep provided my order number n showed her the email. Rep couldn't locate or provide any info. She referred me to call online service or any phone number available online. The next day i called spoke to David after he verified my info credentials. He said he was unable to locate any detail as to why my order were canceled. He transferred me to "online research specialist" this after about 10-15 minutes. Now I'm connected to simply another rep (probably cold transfer) Susan her name spent another 10-15 minutes just trying to validate who i am. Because my email address n home address, online order number phone number linked to my order simply didn't match what she had listed as the original phone number (I'm at this point giving her all new phone numbers n old numbers). She basically said ma'am i cannot help you. You cannot provide me the telephone number. She then transferred me to supposedly a manager who was repeating exactly what she did for another 15 minutes. I said to him I'm at kohl's right now I'll put you on phone with your in store rep they can validate my id's in person to make sure I'm legit. He simply rushed me off said without you able to verify your phone number on your account i cannot help you and transferred me to online survey voicemail. I am completely utterly speechless. This is beyond rude and disrespectful kohl's represented themselves. They're losing me as a customer. read more

I'm not happy with Kohl's because they told me a malicious email that I received regarding a so-called shipment could not be acted on, because it was not credit card fraud. I believe the Fraud Department could do better at these types of issues. My view of Kohl's at this time is "not favorable." read more
