Penny's store was a staple of a downtown area in smaller cities, too. With the decline of the mega mall and the growth in big box stores and shopping areas that harken back to the days of a downtown, it stands to reason that smaller shopping centers might also be making a comeback. This JCPenny store is located in the Crossroads Shopping Center, on County Line Road between Menomonee Falls and Germantown, in the heart of a developing retail area. JCPenny is the major anchor here, A new Pick 'n' Save is the other. The center recently had a major facelift It is located within a circle of familiar big box stores. You'd have to know this building started out as a gray, cinder block discount store that resembled a prison. The building has been extensively remodeled, besides a major facelift, the entire interior has been redone. If someone dropped you in the middle of a department store and asked where you were, you might not be able to guess. You'd know here, because this store is uniquely JCPenny. There are attractive displays throughout the store and there are several store-within-a-store kiosks. There are several checkout registers and JCPenny does it right - there is one line for shoppers, and the first in line steps to the first available register. The store has a large parking lot that is easy to get to, just west of US 41-45, Turn left at the Culver's.

"its unsanitary to open the lid and smell it!" I just walked away and continued on. meanwhile groups of ladies where opening makeup, perfume etc. all around us?? and people try on shoes.......omg think of the germs!! and there is a public toilet too!! The manager Caroline cane over and said she was going to ask me to leave. I explained she needs to post a sign. She said "no we dont!" I walked away and left my basket of things I was going to purchase. See ya, cheap goods arent worth being hassled by rude people!

Just needing a couple last minute gifts, this was a relatively quick in-and-out trip, but I was able to find what I was looking for and get in and out in a short amount of time, another goal achieved! Like most TJ Maxx stores, you aren't likely to interact with anyone on the sales floor, so either find it yourself or assume they do not have it, but as far as Maxx outlets go, you certainly could do worse than the Menomonee Falls outlet.

The Good: I've been looking for a particular piece of photographic equipment, and it turned out that Walmart had the device online and the best price I could find anywhere. The Bad: I could choose between pickup at a store, scheduled today, Friday. I could opt for home delivery, but that would be next Monday, over the weekend, eight days total time. The bad? I ordered the piece on Sunday, the delivery was promised to the store in five days. Compare that to a similar order I placed at the same time, with a superstore in New York. It arrived at my home on Wednesday, only three days. Walmart's time frame was frustrating, but I suppose that's part of the good price. The Amazing: I walked into Walmart and walked up to a tall, orange tower that almost reaches the ceiling. (I happen to know its nickname, but since it's a copyrighted name, I'll just call it Fred.) Fred has a smoked glass cover that slightly obscures a monitor screen. There is no one around. As you approach Fred, er, the tower, the smoked glass panel opens up and the screen welcomes you to Walmart. If you were sent a QR Code to your phone that identifies your order, Fred will scan it. I didn't have a Qr code but did have a confirmation number. Fred popped up a keyboard and I typed in my order code. After Fred had my code, I could hear some machinery running and in seconds, a light came on behind another smoked glass door. Voila! There was my package! The smoked glass door popped open and my order slid forward for me to take it. Overall rating: Price: Five stars. Ease of ordering online: Five stars. Time to delivery: Three stars. The shelves are jam packed with little to no organization especially in the toy and Christmas areas. This makes looking for items stressful as if you grab something the odds of something falling is high. They seem to have a lot of staff so I would think some of their tasks would be to organize the shelfs. I will say they do need more shelving in order to allow for organizing to occur.
